Struggled to get through on the phone for booking

I have been attempting to schedule a routine health review for the past ten days in preparation for returning to work the following week. On one occasion, I managed to reach the practice at 4.30 in the afternoon, but the receptionist informed me that the booking system was unavailable and suggested I try calling back the next day. Despite this, I have still been unable to secure an appointment, and the situation remains unresolved after eleven days of trying.

Phone queue took far too long

It took considerable time to reach the reception desk, and after finally connecting with someone, I was informed there would be a brief wait before being placed on hold for several additional minutes. Eventually, I decided to discontinue the call due to the extended waiting period, which felt frustrating and unsatisfactory.

Thorough investigation finally revealed what was wrong

After experiencing significant back discomfort for an extended period, one clinician believed it was a muscular issue. When a different clinician took over my care, they arranged for further investigation, which revealed an underlying skeletal condition I had been unaware of. I was also found to have a bone density concern. Following prescribed treatment, my symptoms improved considerably. More recently, when I mentioned experiencing temperature-related symptoms and expressed reluctance about a particular hormone therapy, I was offered an alternative medication instead. This has also made a substantial difference to how I feel. I cannot express enough gratitude for the thorough approach to my care; it may sound dramatic, but my quality of life has been genuinely restored. I am now able to participate in activities like swimming and cycling again.

Rude reception and impossible appointment booking

The practice has been disappointing overall. The reception staff have been unhelpful and provided inaccurate information on several occasions. Booking appointments has proven difficult, with repeated suggestions to contact the surgery again at a later time rather than securing a slot when needed.
