Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a sharply divided experience centred on a clear service divide. Medical professionals consistently receive praise for their clinical expertise, attentiveness, and compassionate care, with many patients expressing genuine gratitude for the quality of consultations and clinical support. However, this positive experience is significantly undermined by persistent and widespread concerns about reception and administrative functions. Appointment access emerges as a major challenge, with patients reporting difficulty securing bookings through both online and phone channels, extended waiting times during morning hours, and frequent instances of appointments being cancelled or rescheduled at the practice's convenience.

Reception staff conduct presents another critical issue, with multiple accounts of dismissive, discourteous, and unhelpful interactions. Patients describe being treated with apparent indifference, receiving vague or contradictory information, and experiencing poor phone communication including abrupt call terminations. Communication failures extend beyond reception to broader organisational issues, including inconsistent information about appointment procedures, unclear guidance on referrals and test scheduling, and inadequate follow-up on promised services. Several patients noted that despite the clinical quality of care, the administrative barriers and reception experience have created significant frustration and, in some cases, deterred them from seeking further care.

While some patients report positive recent experiences and note that the practice appears to be making improvements, the volume and consistency of complaints about appointment availability, reception courtesy, and organisational communication suggest these remain systemic challenges requiring attention.

Poor!

Rude receptionist ruins otherwise great medical practice

My general practitioner is wonderful, but the front desk staff has reduced me to tears twice due to her extreme discourtesy and lack of support. I proactively phoned ahead to explain I would be slightly delayed, understanding this could potentially jeopardize my appointment - YET I was initially assured everything would be acceptable. Upon arrival, ten minutes past my scheduled time, I was confronted with a dramatically different response delivered in an incredibly harsh tone. She subsequently consulted with the nurse and returned five minutes later, declaring that because I was now fifteen minutes late, the nurse would absolutely not see me! Despite waiting months for this crucial appointment and experiencing significant pain, showing any compassion was apparently beyond this receptionist's capabilities.

Bad!

Frustrating healthcare experience with poor communication

Getting an appointment here is a nightmare, with scheduling being incredibly time-consuming and phone wait times being excessively long. I endured weeks of waiting for the doctor to contact me about my test results, but no call ever came. When I followed up to inquire about the missed communication, I was shocked to be told that my previously confirmed appointment never actually existed, despite having been assured otherwise weeks earlier. To make matters worse, I was then instructed to start the entire booking process over again from scratch. The entire ordeal was completely unacceptable and frustrating beyond words.

Bad!

Terrible experience with unprofessional medical staff

I had a scheduled visit on July 8th at this clinic, and I'm utterly disappointed! The staff were incredibly discourteous. The receptionist seemed completely disinterested, fixated on her computer screen. Upon entering the ultrasound room, the nurses were visibly irritated and displayed an aggressive demeanor, treating me as if I were at fault. I strongly advise against getting an ultrasound at this facility.

Great!

Mixed mental health care with stellar physical treatment

Overall, this GP service has minimal drawbacks. The staff are generally pleasant, with only one past instance of receiving an incorrect contact number during a phone interaction. When it comes to physical health care, they truly excel. However, their performance in mental health support is less impressive. I've repeatedly encountered issues with prescription processing, either having prescriptions fail to reach my GP or receiving only partial medication orders. Edit: Despite my ongoing frustration with medication management, I was pleasantly surprised to secure a mental health appointment within just 5 minutes this morning, which slightly improves my overall assessment.

Terrible service from unhelpful practice manager sharon

I've been a patient here for a considerable time, and the practice manager is absolutely appalling. She appears inexperienced, consistently unhelpful, and downright discourteous. She never returns calls and shows zero concern for patient welfare or mental health. I'm escalating complaints to every possible authority - the ombudsman, CQC, PALS - to highlight my traumatic experiences with this unprofessional manager. Disgraceful! STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS. She's a complete embarrassment to patient care standards! Always instructing patients to call, yet perpetually unavailable. I've attempted contact 7 times, and she consistently refuses to engage, instead hiding behind the overwhelmed reception staff. I believe her name is Sharon. What an abysmal representation of a healthcare professional. Total chaos!

Excellent!

Great doctor trapped in terrible medical office

Dr. Davis stands out as an exceptional physician, but the front desk staff falls short of expectations. Getting through on the phone to schedule an appointment is incredibly challenging. If it weren't for Dr. Davis's outstanding care, I would rate this practice much lower. My gratitude goes entirely to the doctor for providing excellent medical service.

Terrible receptionists ruin an otherwise great medical practice

Medical professionals demonstrate exceptional expertise, yet the front desk staff appear deliberately unhelpful and obstructive. Consistently, patients attempting to seek assistance are summarily dismissed without valid justification.

Bad!

Terrible customer service at medical practice

The staff here were incredibly discourteous, dismissive, and utterly unhelpful. As a foreign visitor, I attempted to contact them two weeks ago and encountered a nightmarish phone experience. Their callback service for international numbers was non-functional, with two failed callback attempts after waiting in a queue exceeding 15 minutes, which amounted to a total of 90 minutes just to reach a receptionist. The receptionist's sole concern was verifying my patient status. Upon learning I wasn't their patient, she abruptly advised me to contact other medical practices and promptly ended the call. Experiencing severe sciatica pain while traveling in a foreign country without health insurance, unable to return home, I felt completely abandoned and desperate. The sense of helplessness was overwhelming. One must question whether this receptionist understands the fundamental principles of healthcare, given her apparent lack of compassion, unwillingness to listen, and complete disregard for a patient in genuine distress. Her approach seemed more focused on bureaucratic procedures than providing any semblance of care or support.

Terrible service and impossible to book appointment

The front desk staff are discourteous and lack professionalism. Scheduling an appointment with this practice has been consistently challenging, and this ongoing issue has persisted for an extended period. Immediate action is necessary to address both the receptionist conduct and the appointment booking process.

Excellent!

Compassionate care that truly transformed my health

My interactions with The Arch Medical Practice have been truly exceptional. All physicians demonstrate remarkable attentiveness and empathy towards my ongoing mental health challenges, and it's incredibly encouraging to witness the team's profound expertise in this specialized healthcare domain. Dr. M CHHOANGALIA stands out as particularly outstanding and could genuinely be considered a specialist in mental health - a physician whom other medical professionals should seek to emulate. The reception staff have consistently been warm and supportive as well. I'm genuinely perplexed that other reviews haven't recognized this practice with the same high regard that I hold. Sincere gratitude for being the most outstanding medical practice I've ever encountered.

Great!

Helpful service with frustratingly limited contact hours

The customer support is commendable, yet they have an extremely narrow timeframe of 10-20 minutes in the morning during which their online contact form is accessible. Once that brief window closes, seemingly due to reaching some predetermined request limit, it becomes impossible to submit inquiries. They would benefit from expanding their communication capacity to better serve customers.
