Discriminatory service ruins patient registration experience
Today, I attempted to register my wife and two daughters, only to encounter an incredibly hostile environment and disrespectful treatment from staff members, ranging from the reception desk to the business manager. Another woman of color who arrived also expressed dissatisfaction with their service. The experience felt discriminatory, and ultimately, they declined to register our family. I was completely taken aback by the unprofessional and unwelcoming approach toward potential new patients. I would strongly advise against recommending this facility to anyone, especially individuals of color, given the blatant lack of respect and inclusivity.

From our encounters, the entire team—from receptionists to general practice managers and Dr Bath—appears completely neglectful. It seems they are deliberately structured to provide an utterly unacceptable service, particularly for elderly patients. Booking an appointment is virtually impossible, and the staff consistently demonstrate rudeness, indifference, and a total lack of engagement. Dr Bath appears to be perpetually absent, with most medical interventions occurring solely through 111 emergency calls, which frequently result in delayed diagnoses and unnecessary hospitalizations. The practice demonstrates a profound disregard for its fundamental healthcare responsibilities. It is genuinely bewildering that formal complaints have not been systematically escalated, and even more astonishing that this surgery continues to be considered operationally acceptable.

Frustrated patient struggles with medical communication barriers
I'm unable to secure a doctor's appointment due to the constant "Covid" excuse used by everyone! After suffering a stroke in December (which might have been less severe if I'd seen my doctor initially instead of waiting until the pain persisted and I ended up in A&E), living with diabetes for 37 years and having experienced a heart attack 9 years ago, I've only had a few phone consultations. I desperately need medical assistance but can't get past the overly bureaucratic receptionist. Today, I was disconnected twice during calls, despite being told otherwise, and when I expressed frustration, I was told I was mistaken! The doctor has been fine in previous encounters, and the nurses are excellent, but why must I justify why I need a medical consultation? I'm not seeking help for a trivial issue like a cold or minor injury - I genuinely need medical support, and then they wonder why mortality rates are so high.

I mistakenly attributed a negative hospital and 111 experience to your practice when it was absolutely not your clinic's fault. I find it frustrating that the receptionists at this GP practice seem to be acting beyond their role, attempting to diagnose and redirect patients without proper medical expertise. When I requested a doctor's callback, the receptionist promised a call today but couldn't specify a precise time. Eventually, the doctor did call, but I missed the call while on another line. When I tried to reschedule, the receptionist criticized me for not answering the initial call, which felt dismissive and unhelpful. To make matters worse, during the subsequent callback attempt, the doctor rang only twice before abruptly hanging up, just as I was about to answer. I'm perplexed by their unprofessional communication approach. While I'd like to switch to another practice, the alternative nearby GP is even less satisfactory. I'm sharing this experience in hopes that they will recognize their communication shortcomings and improve their patient interaction. It's crucial to remember that receptionists are administrative staff, not medical professionals.
