Feedback reveals a practice experiencing significant operational challenges that have intensified following recent organisational changes. While some patients consistently praise the clinical competence of physicians and the courtesy of reception staff, the overwhelming majority of reviews highlight serious access difficulties. Appointment availability remains the most pressing concern, with patients reporting waits of two weeks or longer, extended phone hold times exceeding 20 minutes, and a booking system perceived as rigid and unresponsive. Many long-standing patients describe a marked decline in service quality, attributing this deterioration to staffing changes and the merger with Beacon Health Group.
Continuity of care has become a significant issue, with patients unable to see the same doctor for follow-up appointments, requiring them to repeatedly explain their medical history. Phone line accessibility remains problematic, with callers frequently unable to reach the practice or facing disconnections during extended waits. Reception experience is mixed, with some staff members receiving praise for warmth and helpfulness, whilst others have been described as dismissive or disrespectful. Communication gaps are evident in prescription management, vaccination inquiries, and appointment scheduling, with some patients reporting unresponsive interactions when seeking support.
The practice's transition to centralised booking and reliance on telephone systems has created barriers for patients seeking same-day or next-day appointments. Several reviews note that alternative local surgeries offer more flexible scheduling options. Despite these systemic challenges, a subset of patients report positive experiences with specific physicians and supportive staff interactions, suggesting that service quality varies considerably depending on which team members patients encounter.

Bad!
Decline of a once-great medical practice
I've been a patient at this practice since the 1990s after relocating here. Initially, the service was excellent, but over time, I've experienced numerous frustrations. Repeated problems with medication management, multiple consultations addressing the same concerns, and recent instances of medication being withheld have ultimately led me to seek care elsewhere. Their performance has unfortunately descended to a level typical of mediocre medical services. It's disappointing because they used to be truly outstanding. I concur with other reviews highlighting the noticeable decline that seems to have commenced following the original doctors' retirement.

Bad!
Decline of care since merger and doctor's retirement
Regrettably, I wish I could award zero stars. Previously, this practice was exemplary, with outstanding physicians, nursing staff, and administrative personnel. However, coinciding with Dr. Freed's retirement and the Beacon Health merger, the quality of care has deteriorated dramatically. In my experience, scheduling an appointment now takes up to a month. My consultation with a physician was deeply concerning, as she incorrectly diagnosed my Mother's clear and serious medical condition. I've now joined the growing number of patients seeking care elsewhere. I sincerely hope they are unsuccessful in their attempt to acquire the new Beaulieu surgery location.

Bad!
Worst customer service ever encountered in life
The customer service representative displayed about as much empathy and warmth as a granite countertop, making me long for even the most basic human decency in their interactions.

Bad!
Declining quality and care at this medical practice
This practice has drastically declined from its former high standards. Previously, staff went above and beyond, but now those wonderful employees have departed. We now encounter only a couple of doctors who demonstrate genuine care, provide helpful advice, and prescribe medication, but they're merely occasional visitors. Gone are the days of having doctors who truly understand your personal medical background and ongoing health challenges, making it impossible for patients to feel secure in their care. The sole bright spot is one exceptionally friendly receptionist who admirably struggles to manage under extremely challenging conditions. I concur with a previous review that a zero rating is entirely appropriate.

Bad!
Elderly patients failed by broken healthcare system
Shameful Treatment - My elderly father, aged 80, was forced to trek to the medical center after repeatedly failing to secure an appointment. He was instructed to arrive at 8am and wait in line. The alternative suggested was to travel to Danbury. While the doctors themselves are excellent, the way they handle vulnerable, aging patients who have contributed to society their entire lives is utterly unacceptable and deeply disrespectful.
