Updated Review: 25/03/2025 . . . I previously praised The Brooke Surgery, but in the last 24 hours, I experienced a shocking incident that could have seriously harmed my 9-year-old son. He developed croup-like symptoms, and after his condition worsened, we decided to go to Stepping Hill Hospital. Just before reaching A&E, we received a call redirecting us to their facility, with assurances they could treat him and had dexamethasone available. Upon arrival, we waited while six other patients were seen. The paramedic acknowledged his croup but claimed they couldn't help, as they don't carry dexamethasone, forcing us to return to A&E. At A&E, he was quickly treated with dexamethasone and released after four hours. The next morning, his cough persisted. Despite using his blue inhaler for his severe asthma, his condition deteriorated. I requested a GP consultation, and they suggested a paramedic visit. We arrived at the surgery at 11:20, experiencing check-in difficulties. The receptionist then claimed we missed our appointment and refused to see my son, despite his complex medical history involving previous unresponsive episodes, severe asthma, and recurrent croup. My previous high regard for The Brooke Surgery has completely vanished. Refusing to see a 9-year-old child with significant health concerns is not just unacceptable—it's dangerous. I contacted PALS, who confirmed the surgery failed its duty of care. I've since filed a complaint and registered with a new doctor, as has my nurse daughter, whom I had previously encouraged to join this practice. The lack of communication, apparent indifference to a child's health, and complete disregard for patient welfare are utterly unacceptable. Children's health should never be compromised by administrative rigidity or bureaucratic procedures.

Terrible service and doctors have disappeared completely

It's utterly unacceptable when scheduling an appointment for a young child becomes impossible, and the front desk staff advise calling emergency services mid-morning.
