Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience with significant contrasts between clinical and administrative services. Medical staff and doctors are frequently praised for competence, compassion, and responsiveness, with the online AskMyGP platform receiving consistent positive recognition for enabling rapid same-day consultations. However, appointment access remains a persistent challenge, with patients reporting difficulty reaching the practice by phone due to overwhelmed lines, complex online booking systems with unclear windows, and long waiting periods for appointments and test results. Reception experience emerges as a notable concern, with multiple accounts of discourteous and dismissive staff behaviour, though some patients report warm and helpful interactions at the desk.

Continuity of care issues appear across several reviews, including delayed medical record transfers, missed follow-up commitments, and inconsistent prescription management. Patients describe frustration with booking obstacles that seem disproportionate to actual clinical capacity, with some noting that once consultations occur, care quality is generally solid. The practice's organisational systems, particularly around appointment scheduling and administrative processes, require attention to better match the clinical competence staff demonstrate during patient encounters.

Frustrated patient seeks better healthcare and understanding

This seems to be my sole avenue for expressing my grievances. Despite struggling to secure an appointment while battling a back injury, I am compelled to voice my frustration with my GP surgery. The treatment I've experienced over the past six weeks of recovery has been utterly disappointing. Throughout this period, I've only had telephone interactions with three doctors. While they've arranged an x-ray and scan, is that truly adequate for someone with spina bifida occulta, tethered cord syndrome, and additional medical complications? I hold no ill will towards the reception staff, who are simply performing their duties. My named GP is rarely available, and when I do see him, the consultation feels rushed, leaving me unable to fully articulate my health concerns. Booking an appointment is an exercise in futility, and even getting through on the phone is equally challenging. Currently, I have a neck rash that might be related to rosacea, but I can't confirm without a proper medical examination. Given my complex medical history, even a seemingly minor symptom could potentially indicate a more serious condition. Do healthcare professionals even demonstrate genuine care anymore?! I am overwhelmed with anger and frustration.

Great!

Fantastic medical practice with helpful staff

Impeccably maintained and streamlined medical facility that consistently upgrades its infrastructure and patient offerings. The parking area is somewhat limited, but typically manageable for those arriving by vehicle. Recognizing that healthcare preferences vary among individuals, I can confidently say this practice meets my personal needs and expectations perfectly!
