Misdiagnosis followed by antibiotics that actually worked
I recently had a frustrating experience at the surgery where I felt the initial assessment didn't align with what seemed to be the underlying issue. My wife appeared to have symptoms consistent with a sinus-related condition that I believed would benefit from antibiotics, yet the first opinion suggested something different. However, antibiotics were ultimately prescribed, and as anticipated, this resolved the problem. This pattern of initial misalignment between presentation and assessment has occurred on multiple occasions, which is concerning, particularly when more serious health matters are involved. I feel these practitioners should face serious professional consequences. That said, the majority of staff members I've encountered at the surgery have been excellent and provided good care. My criticism is directed specifically at a small number of clinicians whose approach I found inadequate.

Long-term care that genuinely knows your family
I have been attending this practice since 2005. The clinical team and reception staff have provided support to me and my family through various healthcare needs, including significant family events and both routine and complex health matters. The professionalism and compassionate approach has been consistently demonstrated. Our regular clinician is familiar with our family's circumstances and demonstrates genuine care for our health. We recognise how fortunate we are given the current pressures within the NHS.

Impossible to book appointments on the day
Extremely disappointing. I am unable to secure an appointment for my teenage daughter. When I call at opening time, the line is constantly busy and there are no available slots. This practice has significant issues. I find it puzzling that with multiple clinicians working set hours daily, the appointment system requires same-day booking through a single phone line, with all slots filling within minutes.

Phone calls handled dismissively and without care
My partner called the surgery repeatedly over several weeks and found the telephone interactions to be unhelpful and frustrating. During one call, the line was disconnected when my partner enquired about emergency appointment availability. Subsequently, my partner attended an out-of-hours walk-in service where she was advised to see a doctor. However, rather than arranging an appointment, the service provider attempted to provide a diagnosis over the phone and suggested pain relief medication. We felt that the focus should have been on identifying the underlying cause of the problem rather than simply managing symptoms. We have concerns about the quality of telephone support at the practice and believe there are issues with communication skills among some staff members. We are considering submitting a formal complaint. We are particularly concerned about how vulnerable patients, including elderly individuals, may be affected by these experiences.
