Terrible service and rude staff at medical practice
The reception staff at this surgery are discourteous and unprofessional, displaying a condescending attitude towards patients and their families. They act as if they're above reproach and become defensive when confronted about their mistakes. My 7-year-old child relies on anti-seizure medication, and despite submitting prescriptions promptly through the system, they consistently create delays with various excuses. I've been forced to repeatedly contact the pharmacist, surgery, and multiple staff members to resolve these issues. Their failure to forward prescriptions leaves the pharmacist unable to help. Today, when I called about a prescription, the receptionist aggressively accused me of requesting it too early, shouting and talking over me without listening to my concerns. Her confrontational approach prevented any constructive dialogue. The manner in which she handled the situation was completely unacceptable. While the surgery itself might be competent, these receptionists are seriously damaging its reputation through their unprofessional behavior.

The medical team and personnel at this practice are exceptional. Having been a patient for nearly two decades, I've witnessed their outstanding performance through numerous NHS challenges, from budget constraints to the pandemic. Whenever I've provided feedback, it has been carefully considered and often acted upon. During some critical medical referrals for my child, the doctors and staff manager Georgina went above and beyond to support our family. While there are moments of frustration with new procedures and administrative processes, considering the financial pressures, funding reductions, bureaucracy, and NHS waiting lists, this surgery consistently strives to deliver the best possible patient care. They have truly remarkable doctors. Dr Cockbain, in particular, is outstanding - he genuinely listens, comprehends patient needs, and consistently provides top-notch care. Dr Charmichael and Dr Ditri are equally impressive. The nursing staff, especially Jackie, are also fantastic. I would be deeply concerned about the potential retirement of such dedicated healthcare professionals.

Getting an appointment has become nearly impossible now. Previously, scheduling was straightforward, but now it's a complete nightmare. When you try calling, they just redirect you to their online system, yet no appointments are actually available there. The whole service in the UK has seriously deteriorated and seems to be completely breaking down!

On a morning around 8:30am, I arrived at the clinic with my 5-year-old daughter, who had been experiencing persistent coughing and sneezing for a week. Despite ongoing cough medication, her symptoms showed no improvement. Her nighttime coughing and sneezing were severe, significantly disrupting her sleep. The previous day, on October 8th, her condition worsened dramatically, with prolonged coughing and sneezing resulting in sputum containing blood and yellow mucus, accompanied by a fever of 38.6. I decided to monitor her condition closely overnight and seek medical attention early the next morning. Typically unpredictable like children, she appeared slightly better in the morning, seemingly stable. Upon reaching Chesser surgery, I immediately approached the reception, apologizing for arriving without an appointment. I explained my desperation, detailing my daughter's deteriorating health. The young receptionist informed me that no appointments were available. Despite explaining the critical nature of my daughter's condition, she coldly suggested the earliest possible slot was 4:15 pm at a different location, or a 7 pm appointment elsewhere. I was utterly dismayed that I was being told to wait with a visibly sick child. Ultimately, we left and proceeded to St. Helier, where my daughter was promptly prioritized. Within 45 minutes, she received comprehensive medical attention and a prescription. While I acknowledge the existence of emergency protocols for critical situations, the receptionist's apparent indifference was deeply troubling. I remain open to alternative perspectives, but I firmly believe the situation could have been handled with more compassion and urgency.

Rude receptionist destroys patient's hope for help
I encountered the most appalling service from this NHS provider. The receptionist was incredibly dismissive, refusing to listen to my concerns and repeatedly stating they don't handle my request. She continuously interrupted me, and when I raised my voice to be heard, she accused me of being rude and insisted I book an appointment. Upon requesting to book said appointment, she coldly informed me they don't book appointments for information and abruptly ended the call. My simple inquiry was to determine where I could obtain a hepatitis B vaccine if they didn't provide it. If a medical facility cannot even offer basic health information, what purpose does it serve? Honestly, patients would be better off using Google than visiting this clinic. These NHS staff constantly complain about low wages, but employees like this certainly don't merit any salary increase when they show such complete disinterest in performing their duties properly. I genuinely feel for the dedicated staff members who actually care about their work and maintain professional standards.

However, the reception staff are incredibly unprofessional - they interrupt patients, speak rudely, dismissively redirect calls, and abruptly end conversations with a curt "cheers" before dramatically hanging up the phone. Anima system fails patient in urgent medical need
Since the new Anima booking system was introduced, this surgery has become completely ineffective, making it impossible to communicate with anyone or resolve any issues. I attempted to secure a doctor's consultation today, only to wait endlessly, receiving nothing more than a message on the Anima system informing me of a pharmacy referral. Upon visiting the pharmacy and explaining my referral, they declared themselves unable to help and directed me back to the surgery. Returning, I spent 30 fruitless minutes trying to reach someone, with no success. I have a General Anesthetic Operation in just three days and desperately needed guidance from my GP to confirm my fitness for the procedure. If I'm not medically cleared, the slot could be given to another patient on the waiting list, and time is critically short. This surgery no longer operates as efficiently as it once did; previously, such matters would have been addressed immediately and seamlessly. Consequently, I am now seeking alternative medical care, having completely lost confidence in this practice.

The service here was deeply disappointing. Suffering from excruciating sciatic pain, I consulted the physiotherapy nurse at the medical center. She marked my prescription as urgent and sent it for the doctor's approval. Despite daily follow-ups, it took a staggering 6 days before they finally processed the prescription, with their response being a casual "we'll get the doctor to sign it now!" The prescription was only sent to the pharmacy after a week of delay. Additionally, their policy for repeat prescriptions requires a 72-hour turnaround. In contrast, my new medical practice processes prescriptions on the same day they are submitted. I'm absolutely relieved to have left this practice and cannot recommend them at all. Their inefficiency and lack of responsiveness are unacceptable, especially for patients in significant discomfort.

The online booking system is unnecessarily complex and frustrating. My husband struggled to navigate the login process and complete the required questions. After waiting most of the day without hearing back, he had to call and was informed an appointment was available for the next day. When I attempted to book an appointment for my son, it took three phone calls and 45 minutes to finally complete the assessment form. Two hours later, I was offered an appointment at a different surgery location. This added stress is particularly challenging when you're already concerned about your child's health. The process also consumed more of the receptionist's time as I repeatedly called due to not receiving the link and being unable to book online easily. The receptionist was unhelpful, dismissively claiming the system wasn't complicated and that others use it without issues. We rarely visit the doctor - my son hadn't been for four years prior to this. I'm concerned about how elderly individuals without computer access manage, especially since the receptionist insisted there was no alternative booking method. Despite previous medical oversights, including a missed pneumonia diagnosis that progressed to sepsis for my daughter, we've remained with this practice. When she was critically ill with a high fever, rapid heart rate, and mottled skin, we ultimately sought emergency care, which saved her life. She was hospitalized for ten days. Many might question why we didn't change practices, but I understand professionals can make mistakes. From my professional experience, I believe that personal interaction is crucial - taking time to understand people's needs ultimately saves time and prevents complications.

Fantastic doctors and nurses but reception falls short
Dr Carmichael and Dr Cockbain are absolutely essential to this medical practice - they're truly exceptional professionals who keep everything running smoothly. Dr Syeid, who seems to be a newer addition, is equally fantastic. Nurse Iris is wonderful too, always ensuring children feel comfortable with her stickers and adorable blue plushie ❤️ I'm rating this four stars because the medical staff are incredible. Unfortunately, the reception staff are completely different. They're incredibly discourteous, constantly interrupting and preventing patients from speaking. When I explained that my autistic son struggles with transitions and meeting new doctors, they dismissively told me to "just get on with it" when I said I couldn't go to the hub. Clearly, they have no understanding of the immense challenges faced by families with special educational needs children. These staff members could learn so much from the compassionate approach of the doctors.

The front desk staff are brusque and discourteous, completely disregarding patient concerns. They mechanically recite scripted responses and practically yell as though everyone has hearing impairments, then hastily terminate calls without genuinely listening. It seems the receptionists, rather than the doctors, are effectively managing patient interactions. If this behavior persists... well. UPDATE- I'm pleasantly surprised to report a dramatic enhancement in customer service, almost as if my previous feedback was directly addressed. The team has undergone a remarkable transformation, and I'm genuinely pleased to communicate this positive change. It's commendable when an organization can recognize and rectify problematic practices.
