Patient Experience Summary

Medical professionals at the practice are consistently described as compassionate, competent, and responsive, with particular praise for their specialist referrals and efficient procedures. However, appointment access remains a significant challenge, with patients reporting lengthy waits, difficulty reaching the practice by phone, and extended delays between booking and consultation dates. Reception staff experience is notably mixed, with some patients finding them helpful and professional whilst others describe discourteous interactions and poor communication.

Waiting times at appointments frequently exceed 30 minutes, and test result turnaround has been problematic for some patients. The practice appears under considerable pressure from population growth in the area, which staff are managing with dedication despite resource constraints. Patients using the e-consult system report positive experiences with responsive follow-up, though phone-based booking remains challenging during peak hours.

Shockingly bad...

What do you have to do to see a Dr in this place? Seriously? I've got a possible chest infection and I was told to go to the walk in centre at Bognor, my husband had a serious eye infection that no over the counter medication was touching and was told to go to the Optician, (yes you read that right.) They will try and outsource everything so they don't have to see you it's totally unacceptable, this is despite moving in to a new building with more Drs, it's even harder now than ever to see one, what in the world are they doing in there why are we putting up with this nonense?

Terrible service and unacceptable waiting times

I recently relocated to this neighborhood, and I'm thoroughly disappointed with the healthcare services here. When I attempted to schedule a medical consultation, I was stunned to be offered an appointment two entire months in the future. An eight-week wait for a brief doctor's visit is completely unacceptable. I've never encountered such an incredibly long delay for a routine medical appointment, and it's frankly ridiculous.

Peaceful meadowcroft surgery missed by frustrated patient

The closure of the Meadowcroft surgery in Yapton is truly disappointing. It offered a much calmer atmosphere compared to my current situation. Although I reside merely 500 yards from the Croft Surgery in Eastergate, the environment is far too chaotic and overwhelming for my liking. The waiting room is packed with ill patients, making it feel like a breeding ground for potential infections. Given my high blood pressure, the Meadowcroft was always a more tranquil option for medical consultations. I'm completely opposed to using this new, impersonal corporate medical center. In fact, I'd rather forgo seeing a general practitioner altogether.

Caring doctors worth the short wait

I'm puzzled by the negative feedback about this medical practice. Yes, there's a wait to be seen, but that's standard across healthcare providers. The physicians here are exceptional and appear truly dedicated to patient care.

Worst service ever unprofessional clinic experience

Utterly appalling experience with two scheduled consultations via text message. They failed to show up, provided no apology, and flatly denied the appointments when confronted with the text evidence. Both phone consultations were completely missed without any explanation or attempt to reschedule.

Frustrating wait times drive patients to seek alternatives

I harbor no ill will, but to cut to the chase, I was informed today that the earliest doctor's appointment available is a month and a half from now. This leads me to wonder: if I can potentially wait that long to see a physician, do I truly require medical attention? Thankfully, I was able to switch to a different medical practice.

Worst medical practice ever incompetent and rude

This medical practice is utterly incompetent and demonstrates a complete lack of patient-centered care. The reception staff and management are hands-down the most unprofessional individuals I've encountered in healthcare. As my mother's lasting power of attorney, I've been struggling with her medical care due to complications from a problematic sibling's letter. My mother has dementia, and the practice's communication has been inconsistent and confusing. They've suddenly declared her as lacking mental capacity, despite previously stating she needed an assessment to determine this. Their explanation about a January LPA change (which hasn't actually been modified by the Office of the Public Guardian) preventing further alterations is contradictory, especially since they made changes in April. They unilaterally changed contact details from my number to my mother's home number, which is completely impractical. This means she misses appointments because she forgets to inform us, and scheduling appointments with her is pointless since we're responsible for her care. We're already managing numerous challenges, and this surgery has only added unnecessary complexity and stress. They desperately need comprehensive staff training in communication and patient support. I am absolutely disgusted by The Croft Surgery and strongly advise anyone to seek medical care elsewhere.

Frustrating healthcare experience with local medical practice

Best option among local alternatives, yet fundamentally ineffective. As is often the case with NHS services, the medical staff are excellent, but administrative processes are a complete letdown. I simply sought a medical examination for my HGV license. After completing their convoluted form, I received a text message - because direct human communication seems impossible. When I visited the surgery to pay the fee and schedule an appointment, I was presented with a contradictory set of instructions. How naive of me to attempt supporting this practice and willingly pay for their services. No thanks - I'll find a more straightforward and cost-effective solution elsewhere.

Compassionate care from wonderful medical professionals

I'm thoroughly impressed with the exceptional care I've received, both from the welcoming reception team and the physicians. Initially, I consulted Dr. Crabtree a short while back, who was absolutely wonderful, and today I managed to secure a same-day appointment with another fantastic doctor, Dr. Ibrahim. I'm truly grateful for the outstanding service.

Terrible service at the croft pharmacy nightmare

The Croft Pharmacy is completely ineffective. I attempted to pick up a prescription multiple times and encountered staff who were discourteous and acted as if assisting customers was an inconvenience. What made it even more frustrating was that I was collecting medication on behalf of someone else. As a result, I switched pharmacies, and now the service is significantly more pleasant and supportive.

Terrible healthcare experience with dismissive medical staff

The medical practice deceived me regarding my diabetic clinic visit. I was completely ignored, with no staff member approaching me after waiting over half an hour for my scheduled appointment, and I ultimately had to leave due to my own subsequent commitments. When I questioned reception about why no one had seen me, their dismissive response was simply that they were busy and suggested I reschedule. The practice summarily dismissed my complaint without any meaningful dialogue or explanation. Their approach has been thoroughly unprofessional, demonstrating zero patient-focused care, complete lack of transparency, and total absence of professional ethics. It is virtually impossible to secure a direct consultation with a general practitioner. The service is absolutely unacceptable, showing utter disregard for patient wellbeing. This medical facility is fundamentally unfit to provide healthcare.

Frustrated patient struggles with terrible medical service

The fundamental issue with this medical practice is the complete absence of basic interpersonal courtesy, particularly among reception staff. After being a long-time patient with a dedicated doctor who understood my medical background, I now find myself forced to disclose personal health details to a receptionist in a crowded waiting room, with other patients listening. This breaches the fundamental principle of medical confidentiality, which even law enforcement must respect. Medical information should remain private between a patient and a qualified physician. While administrative staff require record access, they shouldn't be reading detailed personal information. Furthermore, obtaining an appointment has become nearly impossible. On one occasion, I was physically present at the surgery and was inexplicably told to go home and call by phone. The communication breakdown is frustrating. My attempts to see a doctor have been futile; I once received a phone consultation with a physician whose accent was so incomprehensible that meaningful communication was impossible. An in-person consultation would have allowed me to ask critical questions. The triage system is equally problematic - an online form that frequently results in being denied a doctor's appointment. The reception staff's behavior is particularly disappointing; they rarely acknowledge patients, avoiding eye contact and appearing disinterested. A simple greeting or acknowledgment would make a significant difference. I've also struggled with their online service, attempting to set up repeat prescriptions, but encountered repeated technical issues. When seeking help, I was met with shrugs and "we don't know why" responses. Ultimately, I feel completely defeated by this healthcare experience.

What an absolute disappointment! The front desk personnel are excessively intrusive and consistently unhelpful. I've now experienced the unacceptable cancellation of my critical lung spirometry examination three consecutive times, purely due to staff incompetence. I am thoroughly frustrated with these supposed medical professionals, and to make matters worse, I'm effectively trapped with no alternative options since other practices are either at full capacity or outside my designated healthcare region. These individuals are completely incapable of managing even the most basic administrative tasks!!!!

Confusing service with frustrating communication delays

I'm perplexed by the current operations of this medical practice, where they implement new systems but the reception staff appear untrained in their use. I receive text messages claiming attempted contact, yet there are no corresponding missed calls on my phone. When appointments are finally secured - often after waiting over three weeks - blood tests are conducted, and the hospital promptly notifies me of results the same day (which is excellent service). However, when I contact the surgery days later, I'm informed they haven't yet reviewed the results and I must wait for the locum doctor who initially saw me to follow up, which will be the following week. Upon requesting another GP to review the results, I'm told this isn't possible and am instead directed to consult with clinical pharmacists, with a telephone consultation scheduled two weeks out. I'm thoroughly unimpressed. It has taken well over a month to reach this point, and the matter remains unresolved. Why does this practice rely so heavily on locum doctors who only work intermittently here?

Dangerous practice with heartless and negligent staff

A horrific medical practice with heartless front desk staff. During a critical asthma attack, my mother was gasping for air and desperately needed urgent medical intervention. However, the receptionists callously dismissed her situation, suggesting she either wait an hour for an appointment or drive herself to the emergency room, and made no attempt to summon an ambulance. Tragically, this mirrors a previous life-threatening incident in January when the doctors disregarded her deteriorating respiratory condition, ultimately leading to a complete respiratory shutdown that required extensive breathing support and ongoing nursing care for months. This medical facility demonstrates a shocking level of negligence and indifference that puts patients' lives at risk. I cannot emphasize enough how strongly you should steer clear of this dangerous practice.

Frustrating journey through disconnected medical care

The medical staff are genuinely pleasant. However, there's a complete lack of continuity between consultations. It took me a staggering 18 months to finally receive a kidney stones diagnosis. Even then, I was sent a brief message stating the condition with no subsequent consultation. I'm left with numerous unanswered questions and feel insignificant, as though my concerns aren't worth another appointment. Their text messages provide minimal information, only stating date and location without explaining the purpose. At one stage, I had to phone and request clarification. The health assessment feels detached and meaningless. One ridiculous question asked about exercise - I'm actually a fitness instructor. Another absurdly inquired if I have a carer... I'm a human being, not an object. These standardized checklists are ineffective. It's truly disappointing because this practice was exceptional when I first arrived in the area. I sincerely hope their new facility brings additional doctors, otherwise patient care will remain equally impersonal and unsatisfactory.
