Patient Experience Summary

Medical professionals at the practice are consistently described as compassionate, competent, and responsive, with particular praise for their specialist referrals and efficient procedures. However, appointment access remains a significant challenge, with patients reporting lengthy waits, difficulty reaching the practice by phone, and extended delays between booking and consultation dates. Reception staff experience is notably mixed, with some patients finding them helpful and professional whilst others describe discourteous interactions and poor communication.

Waiting times at appointments frequently exceed 30 minutes, and test result turnaround has been problematic for some patients. The practice appears under considerable pressure from population growth in the area, which staff are managing with dedication despite resource constraints. Patients using the e-consult system report positive experiences with responsive follow-up, though phone-based booking remains challenging during peak hours.

Terrible service from croft surgery in barnham

After my wife's unexpected hospitalization, she urgently needs medication guidance and has sought clarification from her GP. Shockingly, she's been told the earliest possible consultation is 8th Nov 2020, despite being discharged on 12 October 2020. Today (23/10/20), when I requested an extension to her sick note, the staff questioned whether she'd spoken to her GP. Upon explaining the earliest possible contact date, I was met with skeptical eye-rolling and then offered a phone consultation on 09/11/20. What was once a highly regarded medical practice has now become completely unacceptable. If you're new to the area, I strongly advise steering clear of The Croft Surgery in Barnham. Their handling of this situation is nothing short of scandalous!

Nhs fails again with poor medical care

Once more, the medical system has failed me miserably. Living with Robinows syndrome, a condition sharing many characteristics with achondraplasia, including distinctive facial features and limb abnormalities, I've endured repeated medical negligence. Two decades ago, I experienced hip issues that went undiagnosed. The physiotherapy service dismissively told me to simply "put my coat on and walk." Suffering intense pain, I consulted numerous doctors until an X-ray finally revealed hip dislocations. By the time surgery occurred, I was barely able to move. I underwent a complete hip replacement. Now, 20 years later, I've battled persistent foot problems for two years. The initial doctor claimed nothing was wrong and casually suggested Ibuprofen. After 15 months, they reluctantly arranged an X-ray. Completely frustrated, I sought a private consultation at the Nuffield, where X-rays exposed multiple complications. I'm now preparing for imminent private foot surgery. I'm utterly bewildered by the NHS's approach - it seems they're actively avoiding patient treatment.

Poor!

Frustrating reception ruins great medical team experience

The healthcare professionals at this facility are exceptional, but the front desk staff are incredibly discourteous and unhelpful. During an afternoon visit to collect repeat medication, I attempted to schedule an appointment and was instructed to call instead. After waiting 15 minutes to connect from my car, the same staff member informed me that appointments can only be booked on the day starting at 8:30am. Why couldn't this crucial information have been shared moments earlier during our in-person interaction? Following multiple unsuccessful mornings trying to reach them, I finally spoke with a receptionist who explained that doctors are exclusively conducting telephone consultations. This approach is entirely impractical for me, as I require a procedure that necessitates in-person medical intervention. While I understand the challenges posed by Covid-19, the practice of gradually revealing information to patients and systematically squandering their time is absolutely unacceptable.

Exceptional doctor who truly cares about patients

Dr. Rose embodies the ideal primary care physician. If you were to create the perfect general practitioner, she would be the blueprint. She is the most caring, empathetic, well-informed, and approachable doctor I have ever encountered in my medical experiences.

Compassionate doctor saves the day with swift action

Dr Rose is truly an extraordinary healthcare professional! I contacted the medical practice in the late afternoon regarding my father's critical condition, and she responded with incredible speed and deep empathy. She went above and beyond to ensure my dad would be evaluated by surgical specialists, and now we're waiting in the Emergency Department at St Richard's. Her dedication is absolutely remarkable. Heartfelt gratitude to her.

Terrible service and endless waiting for nothing

I've been trying to get an appointment for over a month, and their customer service is completely useless. Every time I call, they just tell me to phone on the day, which I've been doing for weeks. When I explain I can't come at 8:30 due to working full-time, they simply say they can't help me further. 😠😠 If you're considering registering here, don't waste your time - they are absolutely terrible. Update: I'm still waiting for my blood test results, and it's now been three months. I initially visited the doctor's surgery in January for blood tests, but was forced to wait until August because they claimed no appointments were available. They would only expedite blood tests for urgent cases. Now, 10 months after my first doctor's appointment, all I've accomplished is endless waiting, a single blood test, and still no results. The frustration is overwhelming.

Frustrating healthcare service with endless appointment struggles

Once more, scheduling a standard consultation proves impossible. We're instructed to call daily, hoping to secure one of their limited daily appointment slots. When fortunate enough to obtain an appointment, anticipate a minimum one-hour wait before being seen. The practice is clearly understaffed and overwhelmed, resulting in prescription errors. I understand the NHS faces significant challenges, but this situation is completely unacceptable. Whatever happened to the new medical facility we were promised five years ago? They've acquired the land but now use it merely for staff parking. With the upcoming housing developments, the situation is only going to deteriorate. Soon, we'll likely see patients being triaged in the parking lot.

Terrible service and impossible to get an appointment

I cannot express how incredibly frustrating this medical practice has been. My wife, who rarely seeks medical attention, has been repeatedly blocked from getting a timely appointment. Even when following their specific instructions about when to call, or being offered appointments weeks in the distant future, we've been left with no choice but to pay for private medical care just to ensure she receives basic healthcare and her needed prescriptions. The reception staff here are utterly useless - they might as well be decorative for all the actual help they provide!
