For the past two months, I've been attempting to secure an appointment, following their instructions to call at 8 AM. However, the line is perpetually engaged. Despite my 24-year loyalty to this practice, I'm reaching my breaking point. Their communication is abysmal, making them arguably the most inefficient medical facility I've encountered. It's becoming increasingly clear that it might be time to seek healthcare elsewhere.

Neglectful care and dismissive treatment at hospital

I had a deeply troubling experience during my recent medical visit. Despite my alarmingly elevated heart rate of 150bpm, the doctor abruptly concluded the appointment, claiming they'd already devoted sufficient time. Adding insult to injury, a nurse inexplicably questioned whether I was under the influence of drugs. The receptionist's refusal to relay a crucial inquiry to the physician further exacerbated my frustration. My concerns about swollen lymph nodes in my neck were summarily dismissed, and I was denied essential medication to regulate my heart rate and manage my Graves' disease. Upon the doctor's recommendation, I was directed to North Tees Hospital for admission. However, after an excruciating 11-hour wait, I was informed that they lacked the necessary medication and was unceremoniously sent home. This entire ordeal has left me utterly appalled by the substandard care I received. It seems the Hippocratic oath to provide compassionate care to all patients has been callously disregarded in my case.

Elaine, the Nurse Practitioner, is an absolute gem - her expertise is evident, and her compassionate nature shines through, particularly when dealing with young patients. Our GP, Dr. Oliver, demonstrates a sincere commitment to her patients' well-being, consistently following up on calls and addressing inquiries with admirable promptness. While it's apparent from the busy phone lines that the practice manages a high volume of patients, once you connect with the team, it becomes evident that every member is deeply invested in providing top-notch advice and treatment to those under their care.

I've experienced nothing but frustration with this surgery. Attempting to secure a same-day appointment has proven consistently impossible. Despite their doors opening at 8:30, I'm invariably met with the disheartening news that no slots are available. This practice's inability to accommodate urgent medical needs is deeply concerning and, quite frankly, the most subpar medical service I've encountered. Their appointment system seems woefully inadequate, leaving patients like myself feeling neglected and undervalued. It's a far cry from the responsive healthcare one would expect, and I find myself questioning how they can justify such poor accessibility.

Upon informing them of my inability to attend the scheduled appointment for the thrombosis prevention vaccine due to my disability, which often confines me to bed, the staff member – who seemed to wear multiple hats as receptionist, manager, and secretary – unexpectedly marked me as having declined the vaccine. This misrepresentation of my circumstances was troubling. Moreover, the same individual attempted to modify my medication regimen without proper authorization. Subsequently, I received an alarming letter from the doctor, cautioning me about the potential hazards of these unauthorized changes. This series of events wasn't merely unprofessional; it posed a significant risk to my well-being.

Disastrous experience at Densham Surgery

I've experienced the most appalling medical care at this practice. The front desk personnel's incompetence is matched only by their rudeness. Their inability to perform basic tasks has repeatedly delayed my crucial medication and caused numerous appointment-related problems. Their condescending attitude towards patients is astounding, especially considering their own glaring mistakes. I was flabbergasted when a receptionist dismissed my husband's month-long cough and dizzy spells as insignificant! The disorganization and disrespect I've encountered here are beyond belief. I'm compelled to warn others: avoid Densham Surgery at all costs!
