Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience across the practice. Reception staff are frequently praised for courtesy and warmth, with many patients noting accessible appointment booking and responsive care. Nursing care receives consistent positive mention, particularly for compassionate support during procedures. However, significant concerns emerge around communication clarity and respect for patient concerns. Several patients report dismissive care experiences, with some describing interactions as rude or impatient. Waiting time delays feature prominently in negative feedback, with accounts of extended waits without adequate updates. A notable pattern involves inconsistent reliability, with some patients citing missed callback appointments and disorganisation around prescriptions. Communication failures appear across multiple reviews, ranging from incomplete information sharing about test results to interrupted consultations. The feedback suggests variability in care quality depending on which clinician patients see, with some receiving highly responsive and attentive service while others experience dismissive or disorganised interactions. Concerns about continuity of care and whether patient preferences are genuinely respected emerge as recurring themes throughout the reviews.
Positive experiences highlight the practice's ability to provide same-day appointments and thorough testing arrangements when functioning well. Patients value the professional environment and the supportive team approach when present. Several reviews commend the practice for responsive phone consultations and coordinated care across family members. However, these strengths are undermined by reports of appointment access challenges during peak times and reception rudeness in specific instances. The inconsistent reliability of follow-up care and communication about results represents a significant service gap that affects patient confidence in the practice.

The Elms, 5+ years ago, was fantastic. The GP's all seemed to care and were proactive. Now? I genuinely worry about the patients under their care. My husband was classed a pre-diabetic in 2018, based on blood tests that Elms ran. No one informed my husband. Over the last few years, his health has deteriorated. He was then told he was 'bordering on pre-diabetic', and then pre-diabetic. Only advice given was to adapt lifestyle choices and 'keep an eye on it'. Two separate blood tests showed that he actually had Type 2 Diabetes - again, no one informed him of this. It was only when joining a new surgery that the previous results were flagged, and he was immediately started on medication. My own experience was full of gaslighting, being dismissed of my autoimmune conditions and being told it was just stress & anxiety. Dr Natasha Malik is incredibly rude and dismissive, and her arrogance is astounding. I was left wondering why she became a GP as she clearly lacks the empathy needed, and believes she knows better than the patient. Dr Malik, you may have the education but you do not have the wisdom. The patient knows their body. Respect them. The arrogance of the medical staff is the downfall of this surgery. Dr Ahmad even falsified notes on my record. When this was raised in a complaint, I was simply ignored. Borderline abusive practice and incredibly dangerous. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Disappointing Surgery: No Doctor Access, Poor Experience
If it were possible, I would rate this surgical facility with zero stars. My encounter there was quite negative, and it proved challenging to meet with a competent physician face-to-face.

ExcellentReception to Doctors
I have lived in Acton Vale, W3, Wembley, Pinner, North Wembley, and Watford for the last 51 years and have been registered with a GP. I moved to Watford two years ago and registered with Elms Surgery. All the receptionists, nurses and the doctors are very friendly doctors at Elms surgery. I had a small accident at home and had cracks on four of my ribs and spinal cords. Emls surgery doctors refered me to get MRI scan, bone density scan, CT scan. I am suffering from Gout for the last eighteen months. At last Elms surgery doctor refered me to Royal Free hospital. I am on the waiting list for the last six months. Dr. Ahmad sometimes ring me in the evening around 7.00 pm to find out how I am getting on. I am getting a marvelous service from Elms surgery. I feel like I am getting treatments like a private hospital. I had an appointment today with Dr Amina Sultana for my diabetic foot. Dr Amina checked my BP, my feet and told me that i might be suffering from foot funges and advised me to cut my foot nails, collet them and drop it to surgery to test it. Dr Amina is going to refer me to a foot doctor to my foot nails. I pray my God to have a healthy peaceful long life to all the staffs at ElmsSsurgery.

Unreliable Surgery: A Year of Disappointment
I dedicated nearly a year to this surgery, but my experience was far from satisfactory. There were instances where general practitioners failed to return calls for scheduled phone appointments, and there was disarray regarding prescriptions. Ultimately, I decided to leave due to their inconsistent reliability and unprofessional conduct.

Negligent Clinic Endangers Diabetic Patient's Life
Awful clinic! I contacted them today seeking an urgent appointment with a physician due to experiencing bleeding from my intestines and stomach. The impolite receptionist informed me that there were no available slots for an emergency consultation and suggested I return in a week!!! Are you serious, "dear administrators"??? It's clear that you lack compassion for patients, but this is truly crossing the line! She advised me to go to the hospital since they couldn't assist me! So what purpose do you serve!! There are simply no words sufficient to describe your rudeness! If I could rate your service as zero, it would be justified; however, even a single star feels like too much!!!! This isn’t general practice; it resembles some sort of farce. More than half of the staff seem inexperienced students who appear clueless. The doctors exhibit aggression; one particular doctor (Dr. NATASHA MALIK, if possible, avoid her at all costs!!!!!!) was whom I lodged a complaint against because she prescribed incorrect medication for diabetes and then entirely canceled it while claiming that my issue was psychological rather than diabetic! I've never encountered such an INCREDIBLY RUDE and AWFUL individual or physician!!!! After living with diabetes for 25 years on consistent dosages, she suddenly terminated my prescription without warning which endangered my health significantly! Consequently, I had no choice but to secure an urgent appointment with an endocrinologist at a private facility where I had to pay £350 just so they could reaffirm my diagnosis despite having received treatment here in Britain for over 13 years! People must understand this is sheer lawlessness coupled with incompetence from this GP's doctors. I'm seriously considering legal action against them as their negligence left me without medication putting my life in jeopardy! Steer clear of this GP at all costs! It’s extremely terrible care provided by them!

Efficient, Compassionate Care at Elm Surgery
From the initial phone interaction, I was struck by the promptness and effectiveness of Elm Surgery. They were able to schedule an appointment for me on the same day, and a thorough array of tests was organized—all within just a few days. The subsequent consultation where my results were discussed reflected a high level of professionalism coupled with sincere concern. Every aspect was articulated clearly, and I greatly valued how my opinions and preferences were incorporated into the conversation about managing my health condition. It truly felt like we were working together in a thoughtful manner rather than adhering to a generic protocol. Every individual on the team—from the accommodating receptionists to the medical professionals and support staff—displayed kindness, diligence, and attentiveness. I particularly want to express my gratitude to Ms Qadir, Miss Sultana, and Ms Dragan for their outstanding care throughout this journey. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all at Elm Surgery. Without any hesitation, I would recommend this practice to anyone in search of quick, empathetic, and top-notch healthcare services.

Claudia: Making Blood Tests Anxiety-Free at Elms Surgery
A Positive Encounter with My Blood Test at Elms Surgery GP Dear Elms Surgery, Watford, I would like to recount my experience of the blood test I underwent this morning at Elms Surgery GP. To be honest, I was feeling quite anxious since I often struggle with severe anxiety when it comes to such procedures. In previous instances, I've undergone numerous blood draws due to low iron levels and have always felt nervous despite having a friend accompany me for moral support. Today, however, turned out differently. I opted to go by myself and couldn't be more thankful for the outstanding care provided by Claudia. She was absolutely remarkable! She took extra time ensuring that I felt completely ready and helped me relax throughout the process. This is the first time I've had such a serene and painless experience during a blood test—I hardly noticed the needle! Thanks to Claudia's support today, I'm now much more self-assured about attending future blood tests independently without needing someone there for reassurance. Her assistance made an immense impact on my comfort level, and moving forward, I'll always request her help. Thank you very much, Claudia! Your kindness and professionalism truly shine through in your work—you are undeniably a superhero in this field! Fatma Hamid

Caring Staff Transforms Patient's Healthcare Experience
The staff here are incredibly compassionate, kind, and delightful. The receptionists consistently exhibit a high level of care and courtesy. After spending 12 years with another general practitioner, I found it frustrating that if you didn’t call right at 8 AM, assistance was not forthcoming. It often took weeks to receive a phone call back and even longer to get an appointment scheduled. My experience at this practice has been entirely different, and I couldn't be happier about my decision to make the change.

Patient Dismissed: Doctor Blames Symptoms on Anxiety
I have been experiencing multiple health problems and recently sought a medical evaluation along with possible blood tests as my condition deteriorated. Dr. Hafsa ABOHATEM informed me that my discomfort stems from stress and anxiety, recommending that I consult the well-being team. I requested her to document this statement in writing with her signature, firmly believing that this assertion is inaccurate. She falsely claimed she would send the necessary paperwork over since she had no time left for our discussion. It is both shameful and disgraceful to overlook patients who are in distress, attributing their ailments solely to "worrying" without acknowledging other significant health concerns they may have. For your information, "Dr." Hafsa, the well-being team redirected me back to my general practitioner because they recognized that my medical issues require proper attention and they are unable to provide the assistance needed for my situation. This raises serious questions about who is responsible for hiring such individuals and why these decisions are made? It’s utterly disgraceful!

Exceptional Care at The Elms Surgery
I have been a patient at The Elms Surgery for several years now, and I can confidently say that it is an exceptional GP practice. The entire team is not only friendly but also incredibly helpful and accommodating to patients' needs. Today, I decided to check my blood pressure myself and shared the results with the receptionist, who expressed concern over what she saw. She promptly reached out to the doctor, who got in touch with me within an hour via phone call to assist in modifying my high blood pressure medication. Whenever there’s an emergency concerning my children, I am either seen at the surgery or given timely advice over the phone by their healthcare professionals on the same day. They truly excel when it comes to caring for my whole family. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone at The Elms Surgery for your invaluable support during these challenging times when NHS services are stretched thin.

Decades of Exceptional Care at Family Surgery
For approximately a decade, I have been receiving care at this surgery. My family has been patients there since the 1980s and they too recall having favorable interactions with earlier physicians such as Dr. Mallaband, Dr. Joshi, and Dr. Alan. I can only share commendable experiences regarding Dr. Ahmad and his team. During my latest appointment, he was meticulous in his examinations and diagnosis, just as he has always been before. He is a compassionate and modest physician who makes an extra effort to assist those under his care.

Mixed Experience: Great Staff, Concerning Doctor Ahmed Issue
Crucial Update: After voicing my concerns regarding Dr. Ahmed and requesting not to have him as my doctor, I was unexpectedly taken off The Elms Surgery’s patient roster without adequate explanation. The surgery asserted that I failed to provide legitimate grounds for my request, which is both false and extremely troubling. This situation suggests that opting out of seeing Dr. Ahmed for any reason might result in removal from their patient list, raising significant questions about transparency and the rights of patients. I strongly urge others to be wary and refrain from making similar requests, as it appears the practice may not address them properly. Overall, my interactions with The Elms Surgery have been quite positive; the receptionists, nurses, and other staff members are genuinely compassionate and attentive. They consistently seem to prioritize patient wellbeing and ensure you feel cared for throughout your visit. However, my experiences with Dr. Ahmed have regrettably contrasted sharply with this overall impression. He has proven to be persistently dismissive, combative at times, and resistant when it comes to acknowledging patient concerns or preferences. There have even been instances where he made decisions without consulting me first—ignoring what I wanted—which only added unnecessary stress during an already challenging time. When approached about these issues directly, he tends to become defensive rather than engaging constructively in dialogue; this has left me very disappointed in his approach as a healthcare provider. While the rest of the team is fantastic at their jobs, I cannot endorse Dr. Ahmed if you are looking for care that respects your needs as a patient.

Lovely Receptionists, Disappointing Physician Associates
The receptionists provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. However, my interactions with the physician associates have been disappointing. As someone who has been a patient at this practice for two decades without any problems, I have found my recent experiences to be quite negative since the arrival of physician associates—I've encountered two in just the past year. Their demeanor has often felt dismissive, impatient, and at times outright rude.

Declining Service Quality at Medical Practice Frustrates Patient
A few years back, when I initially signed up, my experience was quite positive. However, over the past couple of months, I have encountered the most frustrating medical practice imaginable. I tried to remain optimistic on several occasions, but it has become increasingly evident that they show little regard for their patients' needs. A few weeks ago, I had an in-person appointment scheduled for 9 a.m., yet by 9:30 a.m., I was still left waiting. When I inquired at the reception about how much longer it would take to be seen, they informed me that the clinician was delayed and pointed out a woman chatting and laughing with staff members while patients like myself were left unattended. Ultimately, due to this lack of care and attention from the clinic staff who seemed oblivious to our wait times, I resorted to consulting a private GP who could provide assistance since my assigned clinician appeared entirely uninformed about my condition. More recently, during a phone consultation regarding whether it's safe for me to use Nizoral while pregnant—particularly during flare-ups—the doctor interrupted me constantly without allowing me any input. He insisted that Nizoral is not appropriate for my situation despite having received this diagnosis and recommendation from an exceptionally qualified dermatologist whom I'd consulted privately after numerous unsuccessful attempts with NHS doctors. The doctor's advice further included directing me back to speak with another dermatologist again; thus implying I'd need once more to incur additional private expenses just as before. This practice is unworthy of your time or trust—especially if you find yourself facing serious health concerns. As such circumstances continue unfolding negatively here at this establishment, I'm actively seeking out alternative medical options without delay.
