Rushed appointment left me feeling unheard

I had a very poor experience during my recent appointment. The consultation was extremely brief, lasting only a few minutes from arrival to departure, and I felt the care provided was unhelpful and lacked depth. The approach seemed superficial and inattentive to my needs. I believe healthcare professionals should take a more comprehensive and holistic approach to patient care, demonstrating genuine understanding rather than treating consultations as routine procedures. Patients deserve to be valued as individuals with unique concerns, not simply processed as cases to be managed quickly.

I don't often take the time to leave reviews when I should, particularly for positive experiences, so I'm pleased to be writing this now. The GP I see is outstanding and represents the best medical care I've experienced. This clinician is thoughtful, approachable, perceptive and genuinely supportive. Over the past couple of years as a patient at this practice, I've attended several appointments and have never felt anxious about visiting because they consistently demonstrate a willingness to listen carefully and invest time in understanding my concerns. There's also a sense of connection and mutual understanding, which contributes to making each appointment feel more comfortable. I genuinely believe I wouldn't have navigated through certain challenges without their professional guidance and support, and I would strongly encourage others to consider them as their regular healthcare provider. I had an extremely negative experience at this surgery. I encountered significant difficulties accessing healthcare appointments that I had arranged. There were discrepancies regarding appointments I believed I had booked, and I felt treated disrespectfully during interactions at the practice. Following escalation, the surgery acknowledged that there had been errors in how my appointment requests were handled. However, I felt that responsibility for these errors was attributed to my circumstances rather than acknowledged as a service failure. After experiencing considerable frustration over an extended period, the response focused on future improvements rather than addressing the distress caused. I was particularly concerned about how my healthcare needs were discussed and felt that the practice's approach was dismissive. When I attempted to raise concerns with management, I did not feel heard or supported. Overall, I found the practice's handling of the situation to be inadequate and felt that my concerns were not taken seriously.
