Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience across the practice. Many patients report positive interactions with reception staff who are described as courteous and welcoming, alongside efficient medical care and responsive service. Prescription processing and appointment booking are frequently praised for their speed and accessibility. However, significant concerns emerge around phone access, with multiple patients describing persistent difficulties reaching the practice and lengthy waiting times when attempting to book appointments or get through to staff.
Communication challenges represent a recurring theme, with patients reporting inadequate follow-up on test results, medication stock issues left unaddressed, and insufficient responsiveness to inquiries. Some patients describe feeling dismissed or receiving dismissive attitudes from reception and medical staff, while others highlight gaps in continuity of care and concerns about appointment availability for in-person consultations. A small number of patients report particularly negative experiences involving perceived lack of compassion or responsiveness to their health concerns.
Where the practice performs well, patients emphasize the professionalism and attentiveness of the medical team, the efficiency of prescription services, and the supportive approach of reception staff. These positive experiences often relate to straightforward booking processes, prompt referrals, and staff who demonstrate genuine interest in patient concerns. The variation in feedback suggests service quality may be inconsistent across different areas of the practice.

Amazing healthcare with caring and attentive staff
The reception team consistently demonstrates exceptional customer service with their friendly and accommodating approach. Throughout my visits, I've consulted with three distinct general practitioners, and each one has been wonderfully attentive, genuinely interested in understanding my concerns, and committed to providing support. Scheduling an appointment is never a challenge, as there are always available time slots.

Mixed experience at local medical practice
The front desk staff are warm and compassionate. While the majority of doctors are supportive and genuinely committed to addressing your healthcare needs, a small number of physicians come across as discourteous, critical, and emotionally distant.

The staff consistently demonstrate exceptional kindness and support. I've found these medical professionals to be the most outstanding practitioners I've encountered within the Hampshire region.

Frustrating medical mismanagement and poor communication
Back in November, I underwent a blood test that revealed slightly elevated cholesterol levels, with instructions to repeat the test after three months. When I followed up in March and contacted the office for my results, the receptionist informed me that my cholesterol wasn't even assessed, casually suggesting I could send an email to voice my complaint.

Terrible customer service at medical reception desk
The receptionist was thoroughly disappointing. While I was a patient who had just undergone a heart attack operation, she talked over me and abruptly ended the phone call with a dismissive attitude. Her demeanor was entirely unhelpful and rude. The second receptionist was equally inadequate, providing only partial information. Neither staff member fulfilled their basic responsibilities, such as arranging medication and coordinating follow-up care. Collectively, they were completely ineffective and unprofessional.

Nightmare booking appointment at this unresponsive surgery
Booking an appointment here has been an absolute nightmare, and this isn't a one-off occurrence. Attempting to schedule a nurse consultation via phone is consistently futile, with no one ever picking up. Previously, I was forced to physically visit the surgery just to secure an appointment. Currently, I've been waiting on hold for 25 minutes with zero response 😡 And before anyone jumps to defend the system, let me be clear: this is specifically a problem with this particular surgery, not a broader NHS issue 😡😡😡

Persistent patient finds truth beyond dismissive doctors
Encountered several dismissive medical professionals who initially suggested my symptoms were psychological. After seeking private healthcare, I received an enlightening medical assessment that resulted in a three-month antibiotic treatment plan.

Great service with caring and responsive gp team
I've been with this medical practice for approximately a year, and their service has been consistently reliable. My prescription refills are typically authorized within a day, e-consultation requests receive prompt responses, usually within 24 hours, and scheduling appointments is straightforward. My general practitioner provides excellent management of my health conditions and genuinely listens to my concerns, valuing my input and perspective. While there can occasionally be hold times when calling, I simply reschedule or wait patiently. Given the ongoing prevalence of various illnesses, some waiting is understandable and expected. The staff are incredibly welcoming, and I've consistently had positive interactions here ☺️ grateful to everyone!

Frustrating healthcare communication breakdown today
It's now 27 Dec Tuesday at 8:20 AM, and the phone system claims the medical practice is shut. However, their website indicates they open at 8am, and the live queue tracker suggests minimal wait time. I urgently require guidance regarding my prescription - this communication breakdown needs immediate resolution!

Neglectful surgery fails mental health support
I am struggling with my mental health, and this medical practice shows complete indifference. They consistently dismiss me and repeatedly redirect me to Italk, despite having no actual connection to the service. It's essentially just a prolonged waiting list designed to push people away who they're unwilling to support. My GP previously showed zero interest in my well-being and became irritated when I was visibly distressed, even after I attempted an overdose that was only prevented by my partner's intervention. The surgery has repeatedly failed to provide any meaningful support, despite being referred for safeguarding at least 7 times over the past 18 months. The GP continues to disregard my experiences, manipulating my words to minimize my emotional state. Her documentation is clearly dishonest. Apparently, a suicide attempt is merely considered a plea for attention and not serious enough to warrant genuine help. The GPs seem capable of nothing more than sending referrals or prescribing medication. After a brief 20-minute consultation where she knew nothing about my two-year struggle, the GP referred me to CMHT, making numerous unfounded assumptions which she transmitted to the team. Predictably, the CMHT focused solely on these assumptions and appeared more concerned with neighborhood noise than my mental health or providing actual assistance. I've exhausted every option - Italk, Community Mental Health Team - and now I'm being redirected again to the wellbeing centre. Mental health support is a complete illusion. Nobody genuinely cares, and no real help exists. You're essentially left to manage alone, with seemingly only one ultimate "solution" remaining. They provide such a substandard service that it forces patients to seek alternatives, but by then, the psychological damage is already done. The most devastating aspect is the irretrievable time lost and the absolute absence of meaningful support.

Poor!
Terrible service pushing patients to seek private care
Securing an in-person consultation is a futile endeavor, with zero availability and extended wait times for phone consultations being the sole option after making contact. As a result, I'm compelled to seek a private general practitioner to address my medical concerns, as this practice appears completely indifferent to patient needs. I'll now pursue private healthcare, which will likely please the surgery by reducing their patient load. I've never encountered such an unresponsive medical practice that seemingly has no doctors actually seeing patients face-to-face.

Unhelpful service leaves patient frustrated and disappointed
I currently reside in the Sultanate of Oman. Last month (May 2022), while in the UK managing my late mother's estate, I misplaced some of my medications. Having been registered with this surgery until about three years ago, I returned to request replacement medicine, providing a comprehensive list of required medications and their dosages. After my THIRD visit, I was informed that I could not receive any medication without presenting the original medication boxes and prescribing doctor's labels. The specific tablets I urgently needed were 20 mg esomeprazole magnesium, so I reluctantly went to Boots across the street, where a helpful assistant informed me these tablets were sold under the name Nexium and available over-the-counter. Consequently, I paid 7 pounds 49 pence for medication I should have received freely, given that I had paid higher National Insurance contributions for decades specifically to ensure access to State Pension and healthcare. I subsequently submitted a strongly worded complaint on the NHS website. Today, I received a condescending response from the Practice Manager, suggesting I was on vacation - which was untrue - and that I should have ensured sufficient medication before travelling. In fact, I had done so but accidentally lost some. Having traveled between the Arab Gulf and the UK two to three times annually for over 40 years, this was the first instance of losing medication. Yet when seeking assistance, I encountered only indifference, and upon complaining, those responsible proved self-righteous and unresponsive. Steer clear of this establishment.
