Patient feedback reveals significant operational challenges centred on appointment access and communication. The most persistent concern across reviews is the difficulty in reaching the practice by phone, with callers reporting perpetually busy lines, extended queue waits, frequent disconnections, and callback systems that fail to materialise. Many patients describe attempting to book appointments at designated times only to be told slots are unavailable, or being directed to call back at alternative times with no guarantee of success. Online booking options are reported as either unavailable or requiring prior phone contact to activate, creating circular barriers to access. Reception experience is mixed, with some patients praising staff warmth and helpfulness, whilst others report discourtesy and dismissiveness when seeking appointments.
Despite these systemic access issues, clinical care receives consistent positive recognition. Patients frequently commend individual doctors for professional competence, compassionate listening, and thorough investigation of health concerns. Several reviews highlight exceptional care during serious health episodes, with specific doctors noted for their attentiveness and clinical skill. Reception staff are similarly praised in many accounts for warmth and supportiveness. Digital booking improvements through NHS app functionality are acknowledged as beneficial where accessible. The practice appears to deliver quality care once patients secure appointments, but the booking experience itself remains a substantial barrier that undermines overall satisfaction and accessibility for many seeking medical attention.

Exceptional healthcare at the grange surgery
Over nearly three decades, I've been seeing doctors at The Grange, and I can confidently say it's the top medical practice in the Nuneaton area.

Poor!
Frustrating medical experience with covid complications
Just a month after COVID restrictions and mask mandates were lifted, I contracted the virus after avoiding it for two years. The illness completely prevented me from working. I attempted to contact the Medical Centre twice at 8 AM but could not get through. Given my severe condition, I struggled to continue calling. I only reached out when I needed a medical certificate for work, and even then, I couldn't connect with them for two days. On the third day, I joined the 8 o'clock call and secured a phone appointment for Friday. The doctor who called was abrupt, stating he could only issue the medical certificate from the day I contacted them. Fortunately, the following Monday, I received a direct phone appointment where a more considerate doctor provided a letter instead of a medical certificate, allowing me to return to work. Initially quoted £25, I was surprisingly charged £30 at reception. The doctor's letter explicitly noted that I had not contacted them during my infection and was now issuing the document at my request. The bureaucratic process and their letter effectively prevented me from receiving medical leave pay.

Terrible customer service ruins medical office experience
I recognize the challenges of handling frustrated callers, but the receptionist comes across as genuinely discourteous and demonstrates a clear lack of enthusiasm when assisting prospective patients. It's astonishing that the practice manages to retain clients given how difficult it is to schedule an appointment.

Worst medical experience ever terrible bedside manner
Unprofessional physician with a terrible bedside manner. Dr. J comes across as dismissive and condescending, making patients feel like an inconvenience rather than someone seeking medical help.

Impossible to book an appointment at this surgery
Absolutely absurd, it's impossible to schedule a consultation even when calling precisely at opening time. The automated response simply states that the front desk staff are overwhelmed and advises you to attempt contact again later. Hands down the most incompetent medical practice I've encountered.

Worst medical experience ever with terrible staff
The receptionist's demeanor is absolutely appalling, attempting to schedule an appointment feels like an insurmountable challenge, and being subjected to such disrespectful staff is the last thing anyone wants to endure when they're already feeling unwell.

Nervous patient pleasantly surprised by excellent care
After perusing online feedback, I initially harbored significant reservations about scheduling a consultation. Despite my hesitation, I booked a slot through the NHS app early last Friday morning at 8am for a 9:30am appointment that same day. The front desk staff greeted me warmly, and I was fortunate to see Dr Hebbes, who proved to be an exceptional healthcare professional.

Excellent!
Caring medical team with top-notch patient service
The welcome team at reception is top-notch and incredibly warm. Every physician here is approachable, polite, and genuinely attentive to patients' concerns. An in-house physiotherapist is available, offering personalized sessions at approximately £40 per hour, with the option of acupuncture treatment if desired. In response to current health guidelines, they now mandate face mask wearing for everyone inside the facility and have installed hand sanitizer stations for both patients and visitors to use.

Terrible customer service at this unhelpful business
Attempting to contact them by phone proved futile, so I decided to visit in person. Their response? "Sorry, appointments can't be made here!" Unbelievable. When I finally managed to communicate, they claimed appointments were only possible for the current day. They're clearly using COVID as a convenient excuse to avoid work while collecting salaries from customers like me. Their behavior is absolutely appalling.

As a first-time patient visiting Dr Baker, I was truly impressed by his exceptional professionalism, compassionate care, and meticulous attention to detail. The reception staff were equally outstanding, displaying warmth and providing incredibly helpful service. Kudos to an absolutely top-tier medical team.

Worst customer service experience ever
Absolutely dreadful service that I can only suggest to someone who finds pleasure in endless waiting, only to have their call abruptly terminated. This frustrating scenario is a consistent occurrence without fail.

Terrible service from incompetent and unhelpful receptionists
If possible, I'd rate this zero stars. The front desk staff consistently dismiss my concerns about shingles, displaying nothing but discourtesy. I repeatedly emphasize the critical 72-hour treatment window for the medication's effectiveness. I've repeatedly sought the vaccine, which is approved for adults, given that I've suffered eight shingles episodes in just two years!!!!!!! Despite undergoing multiple physical assessments and blood screenings, I'm repeatedly told to wait until another outbreak occurs before addressing the issue!!!!! An utterly deplorable medical practice.

Endless wait and total customer service nightmare
Currently attempting to reach customer service. Endured a one-hour wait only to be informed I was next in line. Subsequently, the call transitioned to a continuous ringing, which I've now been listening to for half an hour. My spouse is simultaneously trying to contact them and is progressing through the queue, yet my call has mysteriously stalled after supposedly being second in line. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Frustrating phone service at local medical practice
Currently, the medical practitioners at The Grange appear to have become completely inaccessible. Every incoming call is handled by an automated system and subsequently redirected to a busy tone. Despite numerous attempts, I've ultimately abandoned my efforts to connect. I'm curious if their representative could clarify - when encountering a busy signal, is one expected to disconnect or remain on hold? My recommendation would be to implement a professional call management system that informs patients of their queue position and provides an estimated wait time. Update - The Grange has now introduced a queue position notification feature.

Endless waiting and frustration with customer service
I've been stuck as the first caller in line for more than 40 minutes, and this situation is completely ridiculous. Has anyone successfully connected with their support team? The automated system keeps redirecting me to their website, but it's impossible to schedule an appointment online without first obtaining an app, which ironically requires contacting their support to activate. There's clearly a major breakdown in their customer service process.
