Frustrating delay and poor service at clinic

I scheduled an appointment well in advance, arriving punctually only to learn it would be postponed by 25 minutes. The receptionist delivered this news without even glancing up, which was particularly frustrating. I couldn't help but wonder: if I had been 25 minutes late, would my slot have been preserved? Historically, my appointments have consistently run behind schedule. Given this is a recurring issue, why hasn't the practice modified its procedures? They might even free up parking spaces if patients weren't constantly left waiting. I'm genuinely curious about the daily responsibilities of a medical receptionist. One thing I've observed is their apparent ease in cancelling appointments, yet they seem unable to reschedule face-to-face, particularly when the delay is through no fault of the patient. The lack of accountability and communication is truly perplexing.

Since joining this practice at the start of 2023, I've been consistently impressed with the quality of care. The E-consult feature is a fantastic addition that my previous medical center didn't offer. The reception team is consistently friendly and supportive. A few weeks back, I had a phone consultation with Dr. Sahota, who was exceptionally kind. Today, my appointment with Diane, the Physician Associate, was comprehensive and incredibly comforting. This general practitioner is truly outstanding. Given the current strain and limited resources within the NHS, I'm consistently impressed by the impeccable care I receive. Their appointment scheduling is superb - no more endless phone waiting (and even then, wait times are significantly shorter compared to other practices), with a convenient online booking platform. Appointment allocation is remarkably swift. My brother's doctor, Dr Basil, has provided support far beyond what I've experienced elsewhere - I feel incredibly thankful for his authentic compassion and assistance. He has consistently exceeded expectations in helping us, and I am profoundly appreciative of both him and the entire medical practice. Deeply grateful for the NHS and especially this particular healthcare provider.

Unhelpful medical practice destroys student's drama dreams

I'm utterly devastated to be writing this review. I've always been a strong supporter of this medical practice, as they previously saved my father's life. However, I'm now compelled to share my sister's distressing experience. She's a remarkable 16-year-old, incredibly hardworking, with a crucial GCSE drama performance tomorrow. Tragically, she's developed laryngitis-like symptoms and lost her voice after a singing lesson strain, which will severely impact her ability to perform. Her dream of becoming a doctor hinges on securing excellent grades for her preferred sixth form. When we contacted the surgery about this urgent situation, their response was appallingly indifferent. While I understand we might not be their top priority, their complete lack of empathy is astounding. Their response of "We'll pass this to an appropriate person in 7 days" is ludicrous, considering: 1. Her exam is tomorrow, and 2. We desperately need written documentation for the exam board. You're a doctor's surgery, for goodness' sake - we're not making this up! My sister is devastated, now facing her exam without a voice and without any proof of seeking medical assistance. The very institution we hoped would support us has essentially told us they can do nothing. Absolutely brilliant.

My encounters with them have been mixed. Reaching out is unpredictable at best. They're essentially a virtual medical practice with a strong digital preference. There's a clear sense they're trying to minimize in-person interactions. Their parking situation is a complete nightmare. Staff and physicians occupy the same limited parking spaces as patients, creating significant congestion. Compared to when I initially joined, the practice has declined in quality. They urgently need to improve direct patient communication and resolve their parking infrastructure.

Calcot medical center saves the day again

I've recently heard numerous accounts of people struggling to secure a GP appointment, unable to connect with staff by phone, or receiving no response to portal messages for days on end. I discovered a startling, almost incredible yet factual statistic from 1997: THE WORLD POPULATION HAD DOUBLED IN JUST 30 YEARS. I've personally experienced the impact of this population surge and find it hard to comprehend how public services are coping with reduced resources like schools, medical facilities, hospitals, and emergency services, rather than expanding to meet growing demands. Contrary to many experiences, I've had nothing but positive interactions with the Calcot Medical Center. Their portal message responses have been remarkably swift - not just when indicating extreme urgency, but even for routine matters. Within 20-30 minutes, I've consistently received callbacks and quick appointments. Recently, I attempted to book an appointment through the portal messaging service but was forced to call due to intense pain. The pain was so severe that I struggled to type correctly, my hands shaking uncontrollably, which further impacted my mental state and ability to concentrate. It's frustrating enough to be immobilized, but now I can't even type! 😟 Tracy was exceptionally kind, understanding, and compassionate. I'm deeply grateful for her help and sincerely apologize that staff face such overwhelming pressure, with many people failing to recognize the current statistical challenges.

Frustrating healthcare experience with unhelpful doctors

Utterly unacceptable. Over the past year, I've attempted three separate times to consult a physician, and the process is incredibly frustrating. Scheduling an appointment involves navigating an intricate maze of bureaucratic hurdles just to have a conversation with a medical professional. Even when you finally manage to connect, their immediate default is diagnosing COVID, regardless of whether any symptoms support such a conclusion. While healthcare workers are genuinely risking their lives daily, the medical staff here seem obsessively focused on protecting themselves, displaying a complete disregard for patient care and comfort. This approach is entirely inappropriate, even in scenarios involving actual COVID-positive individuals. The lack of compassion and patient-centered care is deeply disappointing and represents a profound failure in healthcare service.
