Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback for this practice reflects a mixed experience with significant variation in service quality across different areas. Appointment access emerges as a persistent challenge, with many patients reporting difficulty booking consultations through both phone and online systems, lengthy waiting times for callbacks, and frustration with recent changes to scheduling procedures. Reception experience is similarly polarised, with some patients praising courteous and helpful staff while others describe dismissive or rude interactions that have caused distress. Communication issues are frequently cited, including delayed responses to queries, unclear information about appointment times, and problems with test result notification.

On the positive side, many patients commend the medical professionals for their compassionate care, responsiveness, and clinical expertise. Digital consultation systems and prescription services receive praise when functioning effectively, and several patients highlight efficient same-day consultations and prompt follow-up calls. The practice environment is described as welcoming by some, with staff demonstrating genuine concern for patient wellbeing. Vaccination services and dental care have been consistently well-received.

However, concerns about continuity of care, inadequate mental health support, administrative errors, and medication management issues persist across multiple reviews. Some patients report feeling their health concerns were dismissed or minimised, while others experienced problems with repeat prescriptions and follow-up arrangements. The overall picture suggests a practice with capable clinical staff but struggling with organisational systems, consistency in reception courtesy, and appointment accessibility.

Frustrating care for female health issues

Multiple problems plague this medical practice. Here are just a few highlights: 1) A healthcare provider dismissively suggested I do "squats" for an injury, claiming I was "imagining the pain" - which turned out to be a legitimate Psoas muscle injury. 2) After enduring eight months of chronic back pain following a car accident, I finally managed to see my assigned GP and get a referral to a back specialist, but only after persistent follow-ups. 3) The reception staff incompetently failed to submit a medical sample to the lab, effectively wasting my time while I suffered from a debilitating UTI. They somehow managed to lose the sample entirely. Given my previous history of sepsis from a UTI, this negligence is extremely concerning. 4) Female health concerns are consistently minimized here. My long-standing PMDD symptoms and overactive bladder (issues spanning over two decades) were met with dismissive advice like "take paracetamol" and "just ignore it". 5) Administrative errors are common - staff incorrectly told me an appointment was on 29th September instead of 29th August, creating confusion that extended to conflicting information given to the doctor. 6) Their communication is frustratingly inefficient. Phone wait times are excessive, and the online booking system is bizarrely restricted to just a few hours daily. You're rarely assigned your intended GP unless you specifically demand it, and even then, success isn't guaranteed. The litany of operational failures continues endlessly. Endlessly. Endlessly. Endlessly.

Can't register from my neighborhood

I'm utterly bewildered by the Jenner practice's policy of rejecting patients from the Sydenham SE26 postcode. As a result, I've been forced to relocate my healthcare to the large Sainsburys area medical center, which is merely a short 6-minute drive away from their original location.

Frustrating online prescription nightmare

The digital platform is utterly useless. Have we lost the ability to interact with actual people? Where's the human touch? The process of obtaining a recurring medication prescription seems needlessly drawn out and frustrating.

Terrible wait times and vanishing patient care

What has become of the Jenner Practice! This practice used to be a reputable GP clinic, but now it's a poorly managed, disgracefully led shell of its former self. When you enter, the waiting area is eerily empty, with patients primarily clustered at the reception, being redirected to online services. The waiting room has seemingly disappeared, supposedly due to COVID - despite restrictions being lifted over two years ago. I'm genuinely concerned that patients might suffer serious health consequences or even fatal outcomes because of this deplorable medical facility. The mounting negative reviews suggest the situation is deteriorating. The Care Quality Commission must urgently downgrade or completely close this establishment. Securing an appointment is nearly impossible, and obtaining blood test results takes around two weeks, with a rare telephone consultation if you're fortunate. One can only hope for a hospital referral (which is another problematic saga entirely). This represents the final death blow to the Jenner Practice! Spare me the typical insincere apology!

Best practice with brilliant actors

This is absolutely the most exceptional practice I've encountered. The actors and staff are phenomenal. They've consistently exceeded my expectations without fail. 10 stars out of 5. I previously worked with Bellingham. Now that's what I call a completely ineffective practice, Bellingham.

Unhelpful receptionist hung up mid-conversation

After waiting in line for almost a quarter of an hour, I finally reached a receptionist to discuss the "mygp" app and question why I was linked to "The Jenner" when it's not even my registered medical practice. While I was mid-conversation, she abruptly ended the call without my knowledge, which I only realized after checking my app. How incredibly unprofessional! 😡 I'm bewildered why some individuals take customer service roles when they clearly lack basic empathy and a desire to assist. I had initially planned to contact them again, but quickly realized it would be futile, so instead I reached out to my actual GP surgery, where a much more considerate receptionist efficiently resolved my issue.

Jenner practice never picks up the phone

This establishment is absolutely dreadful. I was selected as a potential blood stem cell donor for a cancer patient and needed to have blood drawn. The process necessitated them contacting my GP. The cancer organization called me back after 48 hours to report that the Jenner Practice has never once answered their phone. They've encountered problematic scenarios in their extensive history of scheduling these procedures, but "genuinely, this was the most abysmal case ever, with absolutely no one responding". Whoever is responsible for managing this facility should be thoroughly embarrassed. *Update* I ultimately was matched and the critical stem cells were donated, entirely without any assistance from the Jenner Practice, who have still (to my knowledge) failed to pick up their telephone. If you believe I'm exaggerating, try calling them yourself and witness the situation firsthand.

Missed heart attack left me in danger

The medical professionals at this clinic are dangerously close to professional misconduct. After dismissing my chest and arm discomfort with mere aspirin, I suffered a heart attack just three weeks later. The post-hospital consultation with the GP was utterly inadequate - they clearly hadn't reviewed my medical records beforehand, and my repeat prescriptions remain unupdated in their system, forcing me to repeatedly visit the surgery and request corrections. We've lodged a formal complaint and were promised a follow-up call from the practice manager to address the critical gaps in their suspected angina protocols - predictably, no communication has been received. To anyone currently receiving treatment from this practice, I strongly urge you to seek medical care elsewhere - they are fundamentally incapable of providing the basic standard of healthcare patients deserve!

Frustrating visit with no real help

Utterly frustrated with this medical consultation. Once more, I was brushed aside after my appointment with the physician on Friday. I scheduled a visit to address the unbearable discomfort in my left knee, which is caused by arthritis, and my severe acid reflux issue. The doctor completely neglected to assess the swelling on my knee and failed to provide any medication for pain management related to my arthritis and acid reflux. "UNACCEPTABLE" This marks the second time I've been dismissed without proper care.

Frustrating wait and poor patient communication

Absolutely unacceptable treatment of patients, with appointment wait times exceeding half an hour. The staff seems to discriminate against non-native English speakers and elderly individuals by forcing them to schedule appointments online. Communication is consistently unclear, and patients experience significant delays when seeking follow-up information about their test results.

Unhelpful care during my mental health crisis

If possible, seek out an alternative medical practice. This one is truly terrible. I've been battling depression for a quarter of a year, and they completely dismiss my need to see a psychiatrist, and even when they reluctantly connect me, they flatly refuse to prescribe or renew any antidepressant medication, despite my experiencing daily suicidal thoughts. It feels like a form of psychological torment. Moreover, they've outright rejected providing me with a COVID vaccination, and I've contracted the virus an astounding five times within just eighteen months. During my most recent blood test, I lost consciousness, and the nurse appeared utterly clueless about handling the situation. The entire experience is simply disgraceful... I strongly advise heeding these reviews and finding a different healthcare provider.

Waiting 3 days for daughter's medication

What used to be excellent has now become frustratingly ineffective. I'm currently in day three of attempting to obtain new medication for my child. Attempts to contact them via phone have been futile, with consistently over 20 people ahead of me in the queue. I've completed the necessary paperwork, yet I'm still left waiting. It's truly disappointing because the medical professionals, on the rare occasion you actually connect with them, are genuinely skilled. However, the entire administrative system is absolutely terrible.

Terrible tech-only service hurts vulnerable people

This approach demonstrates a profound lack of compassion for individuals who may struggle with digital technology or have limited technological access. The practice appears to systematically marginalize vulnerable populations, including seniors, people with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, those with mental health challenges, and those with cognitive differences. One might cynically wonder if these groups are simply considered economically inconvenient or not worth accommodating.
