Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback for this practice reflects a mixed experience with significant variation in service quality across different areas. Appointment access emerges as a persistent challenge, with many patients reporting difficulty booking consultations through both phone and online systems, lengthy waiting times for callbacks, and frustration with recent changes to scheduling procedures. Reception experience is similarly polarised, with some patients praising courteous and helpful staff while others describe dismissive or rude interactions that have caused distress. Communication issues are frequently cited, including delayed responses to queries, unclear information about appointment times, and problems with test result notification.

On the positive side, many patients commend the medical professionals for their compassionate care, responsiveness, and clinical expertise. Digital consultation systems and prescription services receive praise when functioning effectively, and several patients highlight efficient same-day consultations and prompt follow-up calls. The practice environment is described as welcoming by some, with staff demonstrating genuine concern for patient wellbeing. Vaccination services and dental care have been consistently well-received.

However, concerns about continuity of care, inadequate mental health support, administrative errors, and medication management issues persist across multiple reviews. Some patients report feeling their health concerns were dismissed or minimised, while others experienced problems with repeat prescriptions and follow-up arrangements. The overall picture suggests a practice with capable clinical staff but struggling with organisational systems, consistency in reception courtesy, and appointment accessibility.

Terrible doctors and broken booking system

The absolute worst medical practice in the capital A prime illustration of a GP surgery completely devoid of operational procedures and utterly clueless about leveraging modern technology Since transitioning to booking via an extensive online form, I consistently receive texts indicating an appointment is needed, yet the specific appointment details remain mysteriously absent. This has occurred twice, forcing me to follow up a week later - something that never happened during traditional booking methods. The new system strips patients of any doctor selection. While the female doctors, like Dr Pillai, are compassionate and proactively suggest medical tests, I've been arbitrarily assigned an inexperienced male doctor with zero interpersonal skills who appears to do the bare minimum. He possesses a remarkable talent for making patients feel inadequate during consultations and offers no constructive solutions. This GP surgery epitomizes medical negligence - no follow-up appointments, zero prescription reviews, and an incredibly sluggish diagnostic process due to complete communication breakdown regarding appointment scheduling.

Quick and caring gp service

My journey with this general practice has been exceptionally satisfactory since becoming a patient recently - booking appointments has been far more straightforward compared to my former medical center, even for seemingly minor health issues, and their communication regarding queries and test results has been impressively swift and supportive, frequently providing updates on the day of inquiry. Both the medical professionals and administrative staff have demonstrated remarkable professionalism and attentiveness, and I would enthusiastically endorse this GP practice to anyone within its service area as an exemplary healthcare provider, especially considering the current challenging healthcare landscape.

Frustrating appointment system for autistic patients

Absolutely frustrating appointment setup and abysmal customer service from the front desk. The record-keeping is subpar, with delayed and sometimes missing test results crucial for medical investigations. There's a clear lack of understanding and support for Autistic patients, with my son constantly struggling to secure appointments. The practice needs to modernize its booking system and join the 21st century. Why can't appointments be scheduled online? The strict calling window should be reserved for urgent and same-day consultations only. Being told to call at 8 and failing to get through, then finding no availability even for future dates at 8:30 is unacceptable. What about mentally ill, disabled, or elderly patients who must endure this ordeal? Don't the GPs use diaries? Can't receptionists manually record appointments if technology fails? It's mind-boggling. What explains the continuous neglect of local patients? The negative reviews speak volumes. Generic, robotic responses to complaints are utterly unhelpful. I used to enthusiastically recommend this practice based on excellent care a decade ago, but now I wouldn't. They seem more focused on administering questionable vaccines without proper follow-up on potential side effects like illness, breathing difficulties, and circulatory issues. Patients aren't calling for entertainment; they genuinely need medical attention. It's time to shape up!

Rude receptionists ruining patient experience

I've been a patient at the Jenner practice for many years. Unfortunately, the current reception staff (older female employees) are incredibly rude and unhelpful. They seem to forget that their job is to provide a service to the community and that they are paid to do so professionally. They appear to lack understanding that good customer service and respect are essential, regardless of a patient's appearance or background. We are diverse individuals with unique needs and vulnerabilities, and should not be treated with contempt or made to feel like an inconvenience. These staff members should remember that they too might one day be on the other side of the reception desk, seeking medical assistance. If they are dissatisfied with their role, they should consider finding alternative employment that better suits their skills and allows someone with genuine compassion and communication abilities to take their place. Clearly, training in customer service, professional etiquette, and equal opportunities would be beneficial. The service was significantly better a few years ago when young graduates managed the reception and phone lines. To the practice manager, please don't bother responding - existing reviews already highlight these issues, and your previous responses have not led to any noticeable improvements, only a continued decline in staff customer service. Mobility needs to address the frustrating appointment system - the 8:00 am booking method and inability to schedule appointments in advance are problematic. Stop experimenting with booking system changes. When patients are unwell, they want to see a GP or nurse as quickly as possible. customer service

Quick response from jenner practice

I reached out to 111 during the late morning, feeling under the weather but not in a critical state. By mid-afternoon, a physician from the Jenner Practice contacted me for a phone consultation, and by early evening, I was being seen face-to-face. Despite constant media reports about interminable GP waiting times, my experience yesterday was refreshingly different. I couldn't have asked for a more efficient service. While the doctor was certainly competent, what truly motivated me to share my experience was the remarkable accessibility of care - something rarely highlighted. In my case, the healthcare system performed flawlessly. What a delightful unexpected outcome!

Frustrating morning call-in chaos for appointments

The recent modification to the clinic's scheduling method, which relies on a first-come, first-served phone call at 8 AM, has rendered securing an appointment extremely challenging. There must be a more equitable approach to booking consultations. As younger individuals, we struggle to be quick enough to get through at the designated time, and I'm deeply concerned that older or more vulnerable patients would find this process even more difficult. It's truly disappointing how this new system has complicated access to healthcare.

Nightmare morning to get an inhaler

Frustratingly difficult to access care. The scheduling process has been dramatically altered recently. Patients can no longer book ahead and are forced to phone precisely at 8am daily, irrespective of their health challenges. The system is so problematic that obtaining an asthma inhaler from an acquaintance seems more reliable than depending on this medical practice. 7

Terrible online booking and patient support

I've been registered with this medical practice for over 4 years and have witnessed a steady decline in service quality, to the extent that I'm questioning its legitimacy as a general practice. Attempting to use the online consultation feature on the website results in being redirected to the homepage. The Appointments section leads to a page that provides absolutely no clarity on how to schedule a consultation. When trying to contact the surgery by phone, an automated message immediately informs you that no appointments are available, followed by an abrupt call disconnection. It's entirely understandable why other NHS services and emergency departments are overwhelmed when patients cannot even communicate with their GP practice, let alone see a doctor. Over recent years, the only service this practice has consistently delivered is COVID vaccinations - likely motivated by substantial government financial incentives. Any semblance of genuine patient care has completely disappeared. Instead of wasting time crafting insincere responses to numerous negative Google reviews, they could redirect those resources to actually addressing patient concerns. I strongly recommend avoiding this practice and any other practices associated with Lewisham Modality, as they demonstrate a complete absence of patient care commitment.

Frustrating registration nightmare at practice

This is the first review I've ever written - I'm compelled to share my experience of medical negligence at this practice. On September 1st, I took a day off work to handle various tasks, including registering with the practice, which had previously been impossible due to COVID restrictions preventing visits without appointments and a catch-22 situation with obtaining registration forms. The staff member insisted I leave and return with a form, despite my having taken time off specifically to complete this task. I filled out the form on-site, and she grudgingly noted it might take weeks to process my registration. She displayed clear disdain that I was registering immediately rather than returning another day, even though I had all necessary documentation and a fully completed form. Today, my first free day since then, I called the practice and was informed that I am not registered, with no explanation for why. Furthermore, I was told I cannot even file a complaint because I'm not officially in their system. This is unacceptable treatment. The hostile attitude of this staff member could potentially have serious consequences, and I intend to escalate this matter fully.

I'm curious about the varying experiences shared in other reviews, as they seem quite different from my own. While individual patient encounters can vary, in my personal experience, the service at this practice has consistently been top-notch. The receptionists and medical staff have always been exceptional. Recently, I encountered an administrative mix-up with my repeat prescription, which led me to visit the reception. Theresa handled my issue efficiently, demonstrating both professionalism and genuine helpfulness, resolving the matter with a pleasant and courteous approach.
