This medical office is absolutely not child-friendly. I strongly advise against bringing kids here. The environment is completely unsuitable for young patients, and the staff seems incredibly impatient and unwelcoming to children. Terrible service and uncaring medical practice nightmare

I've been a patient at this medical practice for almost two decades with no initial problems. However, the constant turnover of receptionists has become unbearable. They display terrible attitudes, and one staff member even hung up on me during a call. Managing appointments is incredibly difficult, especially since I'm dealing with a chronic illness - it's like trying to accomplish the impossible. The lack of compassion is shocking. Recently, I arrived just a few minutes late for a crucial blood test, and the nurse refused to see me. Despite explaining the test's importance, I was instructed to call and reschedule, even though I was standing right there in the surgery. I've submitted numerous complaints that have been completely ignored, and my repeated attempts to speak with the practice manager have been futile. As a result, I am now prepared to escalate this matter and seek resolution through other channels.

Terrible customer service ruins healthcare experience

The receptionist's demeanor was appalling. I called at 8:15 am and had to dial 23 times before reaching someone. Despite having a 9 am appointment, I explained to the receptionist that I work alone and cannot leave my job. I politely requested if they had any slots after 3 pm when I finish work. She rudely responded that I cannot "pick and choose" appointments, essentially telling me to call back tomorrow morning (only to likely face the same situation) or take a day off hoping for available time slots. With my multiple health complications, I ironically ended up hospitalized the very next day.

Frustrating healthcare service with poor communication

My children are suffering from eczema and experiencing sleep difficulties lately. Initially, on 27/12/2024, I contacted the clinic and was informed they only handle emergency situations. I assumed this was due to the Christmas holiday period, so I attempted to call again on 30/12/2024. They deemed my case non-urgent and scheduled an appointment at Silverdale, which I found confusing and ultimately missed. When I called again on 31/12/2024, they repeated that they were only managing emergency cases. I inquired whether this was holiday-related, but the staff member stated this had been their policy for two years. The representative seemed to believe I was simply seeking repeated hydrocortisone cream prescriptions, but the reality is my children are unable to sleep because of their eczema. If Lake GP maintains such a policy, they should ensure their staff can ask comprehensive questions to truly understand patients' situations. Moreover, hospital emergency departments are strictly for critical emergencies. If general practitioners are only accepting urgent cases, what avenue exists for addressing routine medical needs?

Terrible medical care that left me in pain

I've encountered multiple instances of misdiagnosis and poor communication from two doctors and the first contact Physiotherapist at this medical practice. As a result, I'm switching to a healthcare provider that actually listens to patients. My initial visit in July was for severe back pain, and the doctor prescribed Zapain, which provided zero relief. I was subsequently rushed to A&E within two weeks. Upon returning, Dr. Mason incorrectly labeled my condition as "chronic back pain," which was entirely inaccurate. Frustrated, I invested £350 in a private MRI that revealed significant back issues, including disc degenerative disease, osteoarthritis, a bulging disc, and sciatica. The first contact Physiotherapist initially recommended private physiotherapy and electrotherapy. Recently, after experiencing a debilitating back spasm that left me immobilized, I consulted the same Physiotherapist. Ironically, he now advised against private physiotherapy, claiming it wasn't effective due to my stiffness, and questioned the electrotherapy approach—which he had originally suggested! I'm now living in constant anxiety about my back's condition, and these healthcare professionals seem completely indifferent. Their consistent dismissal of my concerns is appalling, and I've decided to terminate my relationship with this practice. Despite having minimal prior medical needs, I'm utterly disappointed by their complete lack of competent care and would strongly advise others to avoid this medical facility.

I've been thoroughly impressed by the medical professionals at this clinic, who demonstrate remarkable skill and dedication. Nevertheless, my encounters with the front desk personnel have fallen short of expectations. Despite voicing my concerns about their lack of sensitivity, especially regarding support for patients with autism, I was told the receptionist was "attempting to help." In reality, I found these interactions more anxiety-inducing than constructive. On a brighter note, Tracy emerged as a standout employee who genuinely demonstrated compassion and went above and beyond to provide assistance, which I deeply valued. It's regrettable that the subpar reception experience somewhat diminishes the exceptional medical care delivered by the physicians.
