Feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and booking experience. Patients report persistent difficulties reaching reception by phone, with long hold times, frequent disconnections, and unavailable slots filling rapidly. The practice operates a same-day booking system only, creating barriers for those needing advance planning or working standard hours. When appointments are secured, waiting times in the reception area frequently exceed stated arrival times by several hours.
Reception communication presents recurring concerns, including inconsistent information about doctor availability, difficulties understanding booking procedures, and occasional discourtesy during interactions. Some patients report issues with prescription handling and delays in processing administrative requests. However, positive feedback acknowledges courteous reception staff in certain interactions, attentive doctors when consultations occur, and professional nursing care.
The practice environment is noted as contemporary and well-maintained. A minority of patients report satisfactory experiences with straightforward appointment access and supportive staff interactions. Clinical care quality receives mixed commentary, with some praising doctor attentiveness and compassionate care, whilst others express frustration with responsiveness and availability. Systemic organisational challenges appear to be the primary driver of negative feedback rather than clinical competence.

BadDreadfull surgery and staff
This is by far the worst surgery I have ever encountered in my whole lifetime.. the staff are an absolute disgrace, the try to cover up their own mistakes by trying to blame the patient, I have had to use this surgery as the only other one in Flint is just as bad, if not worse.... I have serious issues going on with my health including bph...I was seen by a doctor, who at first I thought was nice, I told him of my ongoing issues and he seemed to care, he sent me for various indepth tests, some of the results he got right but others he got wrong, either reading them wrongly or just not paying proper attention.. it led to me thinking that I may have had prostate cancer, his explanation for dropping a bollock was..im sorry, im human, I make mistakes..... I told him I was disgusted with his attention towards me and walked out....I was then contacted out of the blue by the Hospital and then sent for extensive tests.... I had been prescribed medication for my bph but no personal tests by my gp could confirm anything... I have been prescribed lots and lots of tablets to take to aid with my current health issues, I have been advised that the amount of tablets I currently take may be having an interaction with other medication and making me ill.....I have asked many times if this could be possible but have always been told its unlikely... I have tried to book appointments for a medication review but keep hitting brick walls... This surgery is absolutely crap and the practice manager defends her staff, but saying that, I suppose she has too, thats what they do...

Terrible customer service with endless waiting times
Getting to Spain would be faster than reaching their reception desk. I wasted almost two hours trying to connect today and still couldn't get through because the call drops after 55 minutes. How are people supposed to contact them while working a full-time job and enduring such ridiculous wait times?

Compassionate help from boots pharmacy assistant
Heartfelt appreciation goes to Sarah at Boots for her outstanding help in managing my mother's prescription needs. Her exceptional service has been truly remarkable, and we are incredibly thankful for her support.

Compassionate care at its finest medical moment
I want to express my gratitude to Nigel (the GP Receptionist) and Dr Peter Colin at The Laurel's today. Nigel was exceptionally helpful in arranging an urgent appointment for my mother, and Dr Colin demonstrated remarkable compassion, warmth, and understanding towards her. We're all aware that GP practices are experiencing immense strain, and while people are often quick to criticize, from what I've observed, the staff are genuinely striving to provide the best care possible under challenging conditions. Although The Laurel's isn't my personal medical practice (it belongs to my parents), based on today's interaction, I would certainly consider becoming a patient there. MASSIVE APPRECIATION TO NIGEL AND DR COLIN 👍🏻🙂

Terrible service and impossible to schedule appointments
A complete mockery of healthcare. This establishment deserves shutting down. It's practically non-functional since securing an appointment seems impossible. Any positive feedback about this place must be fabricated and entirely untrustworthy.

Terrible healthcare with zero customer service
Absolute disaster of a medical facility. Scheduling an appointment is practically impossible, and on the rare occasion you manage to secure one, the staff - both medical professionals and administrative personnel - display an appalling lack of courtesy and assistance. This establishment deserves immediate closure :)

Bad!
Terrible healthcare service that needs major improvement
Extremely disorganized medical facility. Completely lacks a proper complaint resolution process. Attempting to schedule an appointment by phone in the morning results in constant disconnections due to perpetually busy lines, with no queuing system in place. On the rare occasion you actually connect, all appointment slots are already filled. The reception area offers zero privacy for patients. The practice manager deliberately withholds information that patients are legally entitled to receive. This practice desperately needs a comprehensive overhaul.

Great!
Convenient health center with appointment scheduling challenges
The facility itself is commendable, but like many modern healthcare services, scheduling an appointment can be quite challenging. Additionally, securing a consultation with a specific physician requires considerable effort. Despite these hurdles, it's an attractive and contemporary Health and Wellbeing center.

Fantastic gp practice with caring and supportive staff
I'm truly puzzled by the abundance of critical feedback. As a patient at this medical practice, I'm thoroughly satisfied with the quality of care. Scheduling appointments is straightforward, and I find the entire process runs seamlessly. The entire team - from reception staff to nurses and physicians - is exceptional, and I feel completely confident in the medical attention I receive. I believe these healthcare professionals are doing an outstanding job and are often unfairly underappreciated, shouldering blame for challenges beyond their control. Without hesitation, I award them a perfect 5-star rating.

Terrible healthcare service that fails patients completely
This medical facility has become incredibly hazardous to your well-being, with scheduling appointments being virtually impossible regardless of your medical condition or severity of symptoms. If you attempt to voice concerns about the care received, the practice manager is completely ineffective. The management of this surgery has deteriorated to an unprecedented level of incompetence over the past two years.

Terrible service and impossible to book appointment
Attempting to book an appointment here is an absolute farce. From 8:00 AM, you're met with nothing but constant busy signals, and on the rare occasion you actually connect, they're completely overwhelmed. Whoever is running this establishment desperately needs to get their act together and improve their booking system.

Nightmare customer service with impossible booking system
I called early in the morning and encountered an incredibly frustrating experience. After making 52 separate attempts to even enter the telephone queue, by the time I finally got through at 8:23am, all available appointments had already been taken. This communication process is completely impractical and unacceptable.

Great medical care with friendly professional staff
I've just joined this medical practice and I'm thoroughly satisfied. The general practitioners are attentive and provide appropriate care, the nursing staff is personable and meticulous, and the front desk team is competent and supportive. While the morning rush for appointments is predictably chaotic, I believe the introduction of the new electronic consultation system will improve the situation.

Frustrating morning at the medical practice
I arrived at the medical practice before its official 8:00 am opening, positioning myself second in line. After waiting for half an hour, I was informed that all available appointments had been taken. Previously, I was advised to call at precisely 8:00 am, but I couldn't connect the call. I'm perplexed by the mysterious phone number that seemingly allows some patients to successfully book appointments. While waiting in the queue, I repeatedly attempted to reach the clinic's reception, yet my calls went unanswered.

Terrible customer service ruins booking experience
I reached out to schedule an appointment as recommended, but the representative's demeanor was completely unacceptable. Regardless of how hectic their workday might be, there's absolutely no excuse for treating customers with such disrespect. Basic courtesy should always be a priority when interacting with people.

Deaf patients deserve better healthcare respect
I've been a patient at this general practitioner's office for quite some time. While the doctors themselves are fine, the lack of deaf awareness training is appalling. Staff members display insensitive attitudes and make dismissive remarks when interacting with deaf patients, which is completely unacceptable. Multiple instances have occurred where scheduled sign language interpreters failed to show up despite prior booking, causing unnecessary frustration and wasting patients' valuable time.

Frustrating healthcare system fails patients desperately
What's the use of being a registered patient at a medical practice if securing a timely consultation with a general practitioner for an urgent health issue seems completely unattainable?

Friendly and efficient medical care at laurels surgery
My interactions with Laurels Surgery have consistently been excellent. I reached out to them yesterday seeking guidance about the current seasonal Covid Vaccination, and the staff were incredibly supportive and accommodating.
