Appointment ran late, felt unheard about symptoms

The appointment ran behind schedule, which was somewhat frustrating, though I understand traffic can be unpredictable. The clinician was friendly and went through the results of a test I'd already seen. I attempted to discuss how my ongoing leg issue was deteriorating. I had previously completed an online form detailing this concern. The original medication I was taking hasn't been particularly effective. I was prescribed the same medication again along with additional tablets. This hasn't really made a difference. Overall, the visit left me feeling like nothing was conclusively resolved.

Switching practices after repeated prescription ordering failures

After a lengthy period of receiving excellent care, we have recently made the difficult choice to transfer our registration to another practice. This decision was not made hastily, but rather came after experiencing repeated issues with the prescription ordering process. The frustration accumulated to a point where we felt we had no alternative. The online ordering system presents significant challenges, and receiving repeated automated messages suggesting form errors creates considerable stress and confusion. Contacting the practice by telephone proves consistently difficult, with availability restricted to specific times. Additionally, there is a lack of consistency in clinical appointments, as we frequently encounter different practitioners rather than seeing the same doctor regularly. We have found ourselves making multiple unnecessary visits to the practice simply to seek clarification on administrative matters. It is disappointing that the practice has struggled to evolve and improve its systems and services in recent times.

Hippocratic oath......non existent

My experience of this practice goes from poor to below any acceptable standard. I think it may be due to the formal complaints I raised in the past and calling out of their sub standard care. Sadly this is the state of this profession within the UK, but these doctors are human and this profession is about caring. The doctors I have dealt with at this practice are, in my opinion, more money motivated than caring. If they cared then I wouldn't be writing such a scathing review but praising them for showing care and compassion. Put yourself in this position....you are in terrible pain, you have injured yourself and have done the same injury in the past. You have run out of medication you were previously prescribed. You call 111 and they tell you to be seen by your GP and they send a report to the GP. You call the GP, explain to reception what 111 has told you. You get a call back and are told a paramedic will call you. You get the call from the paramedic and explain your issue, the pain you're in, the fact you've run out of medication (that was previously prescribed). The paramedic tells you they will speak with a colleague and call you back shortly. Hours later, still in pain, you call them. They tell you they won't prescribe the medication you've had before because it's against NICE guidance. You ask what they can do because you've been in terrible pain for 6 hours. They tell you they will ask another doctor in the practice and call you back. Ten minutes later you get a text saying they won't prescribe any medication and to make a routine appointment to discuss the situation. Do you think that the paramedic or doctors should be allowed to practice medicine if this is their attitude towards a patient in severe pain? This is the type of practice that puts pressure on A&E departments by because they are unable to do their job. Not even a face to face consultation. I went privately, paid to see a doctor who prescribed the exact medication that my GP wouldn't. Against NICE guidance but they felt it would work, and guess what. It did and I'm out of the state I was in. "First do no harm"....perhaps this practice should remember that.

Online triage form makes appointments nearly impossible

I have been a patient at this practice and its previous incarnations for 25 years. During this period, it has transformed from a modest two-doctor operation into a much larger organisation, making it increasingly difficult to obtain appointments with a GP. Access now requires completing an online assessment form designed to categorise your presenting concern. The severity of your symptoms or the nature of your difficulties does not appear to influence this process. I would advise prospective patients to consider alternative practices, and those currently registered may wish to explore other options in the local area.

Receptionist listened, but doctors didn't

The on-call staff member was excellent and genuinely attentive to my concerns. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the doctors, though I recognise I cannot speak for all of them. Based on my experience, the approach seemed to rely heavily on one particular type of medication as a solution for various issues, even when other factors were clearly involved. I felt that my concerns were not fully heard. The reception team were efficient and helpful.

Receptionist helped with phone triage form patiently

The receptionist was most helpful in assisting with the triage form over the phone for those of us who find technology challenging! A clinician went well beyond the call of duty to see me not only the same day but within an hour of the initial phone call! They turned out to be brilliant, I mean absolutely BRILLIANT !!!
