Painfully slow reception ruins morning blood test

Arrived for a blood draw at 8:15 AM and remained waiting until 8:45 AM, stuck in limbo while reception struggled to finalize the paperwork for the blood technician. The entire process was utterly disorganized and inefficient, especially for what should be a straightforward procedure.

Great service and compassionate healthcare always

After relocating, I've had to change my medical practice, and I'm truly missing my long-time GP at the Oaks. Having been registered there since birth, I always found their service exceptional. Booking appointments was always straightforward, and prescription requests were handled efficiently and quickly. Now that I've switched to a new practice in my current area, I've realized just how fantastic the Oaks medical centre was during my 21 years with them. In stark contrast, my new practice is incredibly frustrating - I can't even get through to a receptionist, let alone speak to a doctor!

Quick and caring medical support

Superb assistance on Friday, April 19th, when I visited around 4:30 PM. The front desk staff efficiently captured my information and scheduled a follow-up call by 6:30. Surprisingly, I received the call earlier at 5:30 from the on-call physician. After a brief consultation, my prescription was prepared and ready by 9:30 the next morning. Much appreciation for the smooth process.

I needed to move my mother's medical care to a local GP practice and considered Oaks medical, where my partner is registered and speaks highly of them. Initially, I was hesitant due to some online reviews, but decided to investigate further. I first telephoned the surgery and then visited in person, where I met Chloe, who was incredibly helpful and professional. Her assistance was outstanding, and she helped me register my mother on the same day, enabling us to quickly access crucial GP support and urgent medication for my palliative mother. Her exceptional service has convinced me to switch my own long-standing medical registration to Oaks after being with my previous practice for over three decades. My sincere gratitude goes to Oaks medical and, in particular, to Chloe for her compassionate and efficient support.

The receptionist named Chloe displayed extremely unprofessional behavior, consistently interrupting me mid-sentence and solely focused on delivering her own scripted response. She demonstrated zero ability to listen or accept any form of feedback. While I acknowledge that her job might involve challenges, it's unacceptable to treat every caller disrespectfully. If incorrect information was shared, that's clearly an internal issue and should not be projected onto the patient making the inquiry. This was an absolutely horrific phone interaction that significantly impacted my emotional well-being.

Heartbreaking moment of medical center's cruel treatment

I was a witness to a deeply distressing situation at the surgery yesterday morning that urgently requires attention. The receptionist displayed an appalling lack of empathy towards a kind, vulnerable elderly gentleman who was being denied a face-to-face consultation with a doctor. He explained he had been suffering from a viral infection for three weeks and was accompanied by his wife, who has dementia, and as her sole carer, he could not leave her alone at home. The receptionist was incredibly harsh and uncompassionate, instructing him to go to A&E. The gentleman was visibly distraught and shaking, and his wife appeared equally fragile and quiet. His final words to the receptionist were, "If I have to go to A&E, I cannot leave my wife at home," but the receptionist coldly suggested he dial 999 or 111, or visit A&E. He was evidently extremely upset. As he was leaving, he emphatically stated twice, "If anything happens to me and I die, you are responsible," to which the receptionist callously responded, "OK, bye, thank you." I was in a state of shock and disbelief, wishing I had spoken up or offered him my consultation slot. These receptionists have failed in their duty of care and desperately need professional training in compassion and kindness. While I have never complained before, this behavior must be addressed immediately. The staff at Oak Medical Centre consistently display similar attitudes, and although I've tried to be understanding, thinking they're under pressure, this incident deeply affected me. I noticed the staff behind the desk were casually drinking tea and staring at their computers, with not a single person offering assistance to this gentleman. I sincerely hope people will come forward and lodge complaints, as without action, nothing will change. These receptionists have a fundamental responsibility towards vulnerable individuals, and such treatment is absolutely unacceptable. I hope more witnesses will step forward and share their observations. Thank you.
