Feedback reveals a deeply divided patient experience at this practice, with appointment access emerging as the most consistent concern. The same-day booking policy and difficulty reaching reception create significant barriers, with patients reporting extended waiting periods and inability to schedule consultations in advance. Reception experience varies markedly across reviews, with some patients praising courteous and helpful staff while others describe dismissive, discourteous, and unhelpful interactions that lack empathy and professionalism.
When patients successfully access clinical care, medical and nursing staff generally receive positive feedback for compassion, attentiveness, and professional competence. However, this positive clinical experience is frequently overshadowed by frustration with the booking system and reception interactions. Several patients report long waiting times despite scheduled appointments, and some describe feeling abandoned when unable to reach the practice by phone or email.
The stark contrast between positive comments about clinical care quality and negative feedback about access and reception suggests systemic issues with appointment availability and front-desk responsiveness rather than clinical capability. Patients consistently identify the appointment booking process and reception experience as barriers to accessing the medical care they describe as otherwise satisfactory.

Excellent!
Compassionate care and professionalism at its best
Absolutely amazing staff! From the front desk to the nursing team and physicians, they consistently show me great respect. I'm puzzled by those who criticize this place - it seems more likely that the complainers need to adjust their own approach and expectations.

Terrible system ruins good staff's hard work
The front desk staff are courteous and making genuine efforts, but the scheduling process is utterly unacceptable. I attempted to secure a medical consultation for today or tomorrow, and shockingly, the soonest available slot is mid-March. 😳 How is this even remotely helpful? 🫣😢 I'll be desperately trying to arrange an alternative healthcare professional through tomorrow's phone calls since immediate treatment is impossible. 🤣 I'd find this amusing if I weren't experiencing such significant discomfort! 🫣

Compassionate doctor eases my medical anxiety perfectly
Phone consultation with compassionate and understanding locum physician Dr. Lerner was excellent. Feeling worried about my test findings, he carefully walked me through the results, potential underlying reasons, and recommended next steps. His approach was incredibly calming and put my mind at ease.

Bad!
Terrible doctor with zero compassion and care
Utterly appalling medical experience where, despite thoroughly explaining the critical nature of my condition and medication requirements, I was flatly denied a prescription. The reception staff were incredibly dismissive and unhelpful, creating a frustrating loop of referrals between 111, the GP, and the NICU unit - a complete mockery of patient care. Dr Kaye Amin - steer clear at all costs, demonstrating zero empathy or concern for patient wellbeing

Incredible receptionist made my medical visit smooth
I've just encountered an absolutely exceptional receptionist who truly exceeded my expectations. Although I'm not a frequent visitor to medical facilities, I'm thoroughly impressed with the outstanding service provided by Orchard Surgery whenever I do seek their assistance.

Compassionate nurse makes hospital visit a breeze
The nurse who treated my son during his wound care visit was absolutely wonderful - not only was she professional and quick, but she also brightened his day with a sticker. We're truly grateful for her kindness!

Nightmare healthcare experience with rude green-haired staff
Abysmal customer service. I've been without medical attention for almost six years, suffering from asthma and approaching 50. The receptionist with green hair was incredibly difficult and unprofessionally interrogated me about my symptoms in a crowded waiting area! I would have been less bothered if she were actually a medical professional. It seems they deliberately employ unpleasant staff to discourage patients and reduce pressure on the healthcare system. If I could rate below zero stars, I absolutely would. Having two children makes this experience even more concerning, as it raises serious doubts about the potential healthcare they might receive.

Heartless healthcare denied me life-saving medication
Utterly appalling how the medical professionals believe they can deny critical medication. Despite my detailed explanation of the gravity of my condition. I recently underwent open heart surgery in London and was compelled to return for additional medication after receiving a tolerance warning from the practice manager. Completely unacceptable. My sympathy lies with the reception staff. I cannot in good conscience recommend this surgical facility. I have initiated a formal complaint with the CGC commission. Regards Mr Crickmore. Open heart surgery patient Royal Brompton could learn a thing or two about empathy and basic human decency

Worst medical service ever unprofessional staff nightmare
Rude staff Terrible customer service Unprofessional and arrogant employees Miss J B is completely incompetent as a receptionist, displaying a senseless and unprofessional attitude. Half the time, she fails to comprehend how to handle inquiries or provide appropriate responses. Posting a sign about staff abuse does not excuse the need to train and educate staff to interact professionally. Patients rightfully expect fair treatment, even in challenging situations. Conflicts should always end with compassion, not by ganging up and mistreating patients. Such a horrible team with utterly uneducated behavior towards elderly, children, and young people. No surprise everyone is leaving one-star reviews - a disgraceful representation of medical services. Note: This criticism does not implicate the doctors, who actually have excellent medical teams. However, first impressions matter, and the reception experience is consistently depressing due to staff behavior. I hope things will eventually improve. Since 2013, the situation has been deteriorating with each visit, and we've witnessed ongoing subtle mistreatment of patients. …..,

Terrible service from unhelpful medical receptionist
The staff here are utterly incompetent, particularly the slim older woman who is completely ineffective at providing assistance. Whenever you seek help, she seems bewildered and slow to comprehend, which is unacceptable for a medical receptionist. It's precisely the kind of interaction patients desperately want to avoid - someone who appears clueless about addressing inquiries and responding to questions. Even after repeating explanations multiple times, she remains discourteous and unhelpful in her responses. This situation absolutely requires immediate intervention and improvement.

Bad!
Terrible healthcare experience with unprofessional medical staff
The medical personnel and physicians here display an incredibly poor demeanor, consistently attempting to pressure patients into accepting their perspectives. They arbitrarily modify prescriptions without seeking patient consent or comfort. Dr. Mendes, in particular, comes across as aggressive and disrespectful. This practitioner completely dismisses inquiries about alternative medical approaches and demonstrates unprofessional communication tactics. When patients are unavailable, they resort to sending text messages and emails that feel distinctly intimidating and borderline harassing.

Terrible service and unprofessional staff at medical practice
After relocating to Lancing just half a year ago, I made the unfortunate decision to register with The Orchard surgery. Big error!!! Within this brief period, I've encountered multiple issues with their reception personnel. Their demeanor is consistently hostile, discourteous, and completely lacking in basic professionalism. The front desk employees are particularly abysmal. From my perspective, this is undoubtedly the most incompetent medical practice in the entire nation, and it deserves immediate closure. The staff should seriously consider alternative career paths, as they clearly have no understanding of how to interact with patients. Their conduct is utterly disgraceful.

Terrible medical care that left me frustrated
Utter disaster of a medical practice. My encounters reveal... The front desk staff are discourteous, insensitive to patient concerns, interrupt conversations and dismiss individuals mid-sentence... The doctors demonstrate equally appalling interpersonal skills. It seems a lack of compassion must be a prerequisite for employment here... Congratulations on achieving such remarkable incompetence - NOT!

Terrible service and endless waiting at this clinic
Scheduling an appointment here is a nightmare, and even after booking, you're left waiting well beyond your designated time slot. They claim the doctor is just 5 minutes behind, but in reality, it's a 40-minute delay. This has got to be the most inefficient medical practice in the entire United Kingdom. The National Health Service is completely broken and useless!

Terrible healthcare service leaves parents frustrated
What an absolute embarrassment! Getting a face-to-face consultation seems completely impossible, and heaven help you if your infant has any critical medical concerns - you'll be rushing to the emergency room! I was just dismissed from the child immunization appointment for arriving 10 minutes behind schedule because of horrendous traffic conditions. Now I've been rescheduled for a day when I was explicitly told no vaccination clinic would be operating. I've essentially squandered a precious day off, and I can't recall a single instance where I've ever been seen at my scheduled appointment time! The staff's demeanor was incredibly callous and obstructive, and this is certainly not an isolated incident...

Terrible service and zero patient care
Avoid this clinic at all costs and head straight to the emergency department, or you'll waste endless hours waiting for an appointment. On the off chance you miraculously get past the discourteous front desk staff and secure a doctor's consultation, they'll probably dismiss you or simply advise you to go to the emergency room anyway. It's no wonder hospital wait times are so excessive when medical practices operate like this.

Nightmare gp practice with terrible patient experience
Getting a GP appointment is practically impossible. Forget about booking over the phone. Their system forces patients to queue outside before they open at 8:30, offering only same-day appointments with no guarantees. When I highlighted the impracticality for people who can't immediately queue or might fall ill later, they were unapologetic, even suggesting I ask a neighbour to book my appointment. This process triggers severe anxiety every time I need medical care. The doctors are dismissive, rude, and unhelpful, while the nurses I've encountered seem cold and lacking any compassion. The sole bright spot is the physiotherapist, who is genuinely kind. I've been attempting to get a medication review for days, consistently being told to "try again tomorrow". To make matters worse, they're closed over the weekend, leaving patients in limbo.
