Feedback reveals a deeply divided patient experience at this practice, with appointment access emerging as the most consistent concern. The same-day booking policy and difficulty reaching reception create significant barriers, with patients reporting extended waiting periods and inability to schedule consultations in advance. Reception experience varies markedly across reviews, with some patients praising courteous and helpful staff while others describe dismissive, discourteous, and unhelpful interactions that lack empathy and professionalism.
When patients successfully access clinical care, medical and nursing staff generally receive positive feedback for compassion, attentiveness, and professional competence. However, this positive clinical experience is frequently overshadowed by frustration with the booking system and reception interactions. Several patients report long waiting times despite scheduled appointments, and some describe feeling abandoned when unable to reach the practice by phone or email.
The stark contrast between positive comments about clinical care quality and negative feedback about access and reception suggests systemic issues with appointment availability and front-desk responsiveness rather than clinical capability. Patients consistently identify the appointment booking process and reception experience as barriers to accessing the medical care they describe as otherwise satisfactory.

Bad!
Frustrating scheduling and long wait times
Attempted to schedule an appointment for the next day, but was instructed to call back at 08:30 the following morning With my irregular work schedule, this isn't always feasible, and the receptionist showed zero flexibility or empathy It seems unreasonable that booking a simple appointment should be so complicated During my previous visit, I endured a lengthy one-hour wait only to be granted a brief 10-minute consultation, after watching others who arrived after me get seen first

Bad!
Terrible medical experience with unprofessional gps
Terrible medical treatment and physical therapy, constantly changing doctors who repeatedly remove my essential medication, Dr. Lionel MENDES fabricating false claims about me, I'm reporting this to CQC and seeking a new surgery, with only one GP who actually reviewed my medical history and genuinely heard my concerns. Healthcare professionals must improve their listening skills and stop arbitrarily discontinuing critical medications, particularly for chronic conditions like epilepsy.

Great!
Convenient service with minor scheduling frustration
They should definitely consider allowing patients to schedule consultations further out, perhaps up to seven days ahead of time, but overall this is an excellent medical practice.

Bad!
Frustrating service but good surgery when available
The surgical service is excellent, but the appointment scheduling is incredibly frustrating. Their policy of only booking same-day appointments means you're constantly having to redial and hope for an opening. It would be far more convenient if they could schedule visits at least a week in advance, rather than forcing patients to repeatedly attempt to secure a slot on the day of treatment.

Amazing healthcare at the orchard surgery
After relocating from Oxford to Lancing, I enrolled with The Orchard Surgery, and I must emphasize how incredibly superior they are to my previous medical practice. The front desk team consistently demonstrates an exceptional attitude - they're unfailingly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely committed to helping patients. Scheduling appointments is remarkably straightforward, and the medical professionals are outstanding - thoughtful, engaged, and compassionate. Overall, this healthcare facility provides an exemplary service that truly stands out. I cannot possibly praise The Orchard Surgery enough and would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone seeking quality medical care.
