Records mix-up left me without support
I am very dissatisfied with this medical practice. When I requested additional medication, I was refused without adequate explanation. The staff claimed to have no record of my visits despite evidence that I have attended previously. I felt that the team was unwilling to assist me properly. I am extremely unhappy with the experience and have decided to seek care elsewhere where I believe I will receive better service and higher standards of care.

Dismissed concerns led to serious surgical complications
I have received excellent care at this practice on previous occasions, but my most recent experience was deeply disappointing. I had undergone significant abdominal surgery in the past for a substantial hernia condition that required surgical intervention to reposition affected tissue. When I developed concerns about potential recurrence of symptoms, I sought a referral to specialist care to prevent any deterioration. The clinician at the practice dismissed my worries and declined to provide a referral. I then requested a private referral, which was eventually agreed to, though somewhat reluctantly. The subsequent private assessment revealed that my previous surgical repair had deteriorated, resulting in a complex hernia condition affecting multiple areas. This necessitated an extensive surgical procedure lasting several hours to address the complications, revise the previous repair, and resolve all hernia sites. This outcome suggests that the initial referral request was far from unnecessary. Additionally, I discovered that my personal information had been shared with an external organisation without my consent. I recognise that this situation may reflect broader challenges within healthcare systems and the considerable demands placed on general practice services.

Felt patronised and left without proper support
I do not visit doctors often and when I do I expect to receive professional assistance. During my appointment, I felt spoken to in a condescending manner and found the interaction patronising and unprofessional. I did not receive the help or guidance I was hoping for and left feeling stressed and upset.

Phone queue left me hanging without callback
I had to spend considerable time on the phone attempting to book an appointment, but the call was disconnected. Frustrated by this experience, I decided to visit in person since I was nearby. Upon arrival, I observed that the reception staff appeared to be socialising rather than attending to phone calls. This left me disappointed with the level of service provided.

Reception staff helpful but doctors overwhelmed
If there was 0 stars it would be better. It's far too obvious the clinical staff cannot cope with their current workload. Very little to no care is given about you as a patient due to this. All other staff members are great, and the nursing team are fantastic but god help you if you ever need help from here, you are better off going to hospital as due to the quality of care, you'll end up there anyway, just not referred by them…

Reception blocked direct doctor communication about referrals
They appear to rely excessively on emergency ambulance services to manage their workload. My friend sought to discuss an ongoing health concern and explore referral possibilities with a GP. However, direct communication with a clinician did not occur, with all interactions instead being handled through the reception staff. An ambulance was dispatched despite my friend explicitly stating this was neither wanted nor necessary. The account provided to the ambulance service seemed to overstate the situation. The paramedics themselves were excellent and handled matters professionally. They subsequently contacted the surgery to clarify that emergency department attendance was not required and to advocate for my friend to receive a proper clinical consultation. During the paramedics' visit, we became aware of radio communications indicating a shortage of available crews for genuine emergency calls in the area. This approach raises concerns about the appropriate use of emergency resources. I have no medical training, but I can reasonably say that my friend's situation did not constitute a medical emergency. Had hospital assessment been genuinely necessary, I could have arranged transport independently, yet this option was never discussed or offered. Instead, the practice appears to default to requesting emergency ambulance attendance without considering alternative approaches.

I was surprised to discover this practice had received lower ratings in reviews, though I suspect this may be because dissatisfied patients are more inclined to leave feedback. My own experience was quite different. I would describe it as the best GP practice I have encountered, particularly when compared to services in my previous area, which appeared to be stretched and under considerable strain. The reception team demonstrated friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism throughout. The clinician I consulted was respectful, compassionate, meticulous and well-informed. They allocated substantial time to our appointment, asking relevant questions and performing a comprehensive examination. I was genuinely impressed by the standard of care and attention to detail provided—it felt comparable to private healthcare. The clinician even made follow-up telephone calls to check on our relative's progress following their hospital admission, demonstrating genuine commitment to their wellbeing. This level of attentiveness exceeded expectations. It represents the kind of personalised care that previous generations experienced with their family doctors, which has been rare in my own experience. I am grateful to the practice team for transforming a challenging period into a positive experience for our family.

Receptionist refused to take my callback request
If I could give zero stars I would. I called to request a callback from the clinician I have been working with, which is what I was told to do during my last appointment. However, the receptionist directed me to complete an online form instead, which is not accessible for everyone. This is the second time I have felt let down by this practice.

Practice dismissed symptoms without proper investigation
I have had a deeply frustrating experience at this practice, as has the rest of my family over an extended period. Following years of unexplained symptoms including fainting and other concerning issues, I was informed that my condition fell into the category of medically unexplainable symptoms and that no further investigation would be pursued. Through my own independent research, I discovered that my symptoms appeared to be linked to an underlying genetic condition, which had never been discussed with me. This explanation would have accounted for multiple aspects of my health concerns. I found the level of support and investigation provided to be inadequate for my needs.

Long phone wait, then prescription confusion
Absolutely terrible experience. I spent an hour on the phone waiting for a callback, only to be told my prescription was ready. When I went to collect it, I was informed it wasn't available. There were numerous other issues as well.

I was disappointed with how the appointment booking was handled. I completed the initial request form specifying a preferred time after 3:30pm, but the practice called at 10am to offer an appointment just an hour later, which my husband was unable to attend due to work commitments. Rather than arranging a mutually convenient time, they subsequently scheduled an appointment a week later without checking if this suited him first. When I contacted the practice to request a later appointment slot, the receptionist's response was unhelpful and dismissive. I was told I would need to submit another form to request a different appointment, and they were unable to assist me over the phone to find a suitable time.
