Reception staff made us feel genuinely welcome

We recently relocated to the area. This practice is excellent across the board. The reception team, pharmacy services, and both the appointment booking and digital systems are all of a high standard. An initial consultation was conducted with professionalism and skill. The communication during my visit was clear and thoughtful, and I felt heard, respected, and at ease throughout. Felt rushed and ignored during appointment

I attended an appointment on a weekday. The clinician spent most of the time looking at the computer screen rather than engaging with me directly. I had several matters I wished to discuss, but felt that my concerns were not being taken seriously. It would have been better if administrative tasks were completed after the consultation rather than during it. I felt the interaction lacked personal warmth and attentiveness, which left me feeling quite let down by the experience.

Got appointment within the hour of registering

After recently relocating to the area, my husband and I joined the practice. During my initial appointment this week, I completed the registration paperwork and was called with an available slot within the hour. As this was a cancellation appointment, I recognise this may not always be possible, but I was genuinely grateful for the prompt availability. I was consulted by a clinician, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. I can honestly state that in my 55 years I have not encountered a doctor quite like this one. The clinician was considerate and gave my concerns careful attention. The questioning about my symptoms was comprehensive and I never felt pressured or hurried. Throughout the appointment, I felt completely comfortable and at ease. I am not someone who regularly visits doctors and I typically attempt to manage issues independently to avoid unnecessary demands on the NHS, but when I do attend, I truly value this calibre of care. I have previously seen practitioners who seemed less attentive and appeared constrained by time pressures, keen to conclude consultations quickly. I was also very impressed with the appointment scheduling system, which functioned very effectively for me on this occasion. A very satisfied patient indeed!

Helpful support with prescription ordering process

Always a pleasant experience when dealing with the service there. Especially helpful when ordering prescriptions. Spoke to a member of staff today regarding topping up the repeat prescription and they were ever so helpful. They sent me access to the online system and explained briefly how it works. They were very understanding and helpful. This will make managing my prescriptions much easier in the future.

Freezing waiting room and facilities need urgent attention

No problems with the staff or the care provided, however when I attended with my partner, the waiting area was uncomfortably cold. There were visible water stains on the ceiling from previous roof problems, a faulty light that was flashing, and the toilets were not functioning. The facility would benefit from renovation and modernisation, which would improve the experience for both patients and staff alike. The dispensary area could also be better separated from the main waiting space, as the current layout raises concerns about hygiene when collecting prescriptions.

Prescription mix-up resolved but communication lapsed

What a wonderful experience at this GP practice. The location and building are lovely, and the examination was thorough and professional. However, I was issued a prescription that my pharmacy was unable to supply. The medical centre kindly arranged an alternative and sent it directly to my chemist, but I wasn't informed of this arrangement and had to contact the pharmacy myself to find out what was happening. Additionally, I didn't receive the text message notification that had been promised.

The pharmacy's answerphone service when closed could be improved, as messages do not appear to be monitored adequately. A distressed young person requiring their medication was left without assistance. This fell short of expectations.

Dingy surgery with poor ventilation and cleanliness

I was disappointed with my visit to this surgery. The facilities felt unwelcoming, with limited natural light and air circulation. I noticed infection control measures weren't being followed consistently, and the treatment room appeared to need better maintenance. The staff member I encountered seemed unhelpful. Overall, the experience made me uncomfortable, though I recognise this is my assigned practice. I've found other local surgeries to have a more pleasant environment and approach.
