Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience with significant variation in service quality across different areas of the practice. Medical professionals and nursing staff consistently receive praise for compassionate care, professional expertise, and attentive patient support. The recently relocated facility is noted for its modern design, cleanliness, and convenient amenities including parking. However, reception experience presents a stark contrast, with numerous patients reporting discourteous behaviour, poor telephone responsiveness, and difficulty accessing appointments.

Specific concerns include long waiting times for callbacks, appointment cancellation issues, and medication management delays. Several patients describe the booking system as unnecessarily complex and cite barriers to care created by reception staff attitudes. Communication challenges are evident across multiple reviews, with some patients reporting difficulty reaching the practice by phone and inconsistent follow-up on clinical matters. While some recent reviews indicate improvement following the practice relocation, with patients noting more welcoming reception staff and efficient service, earlier feedback suggests systemic issues with appointment availability and courtesy that have prompted some patients to seek care elsewhere.

Bad!

Terrible service at gp clinic with unhelpful staff

I had a pre-booked medical consultation that was set up weeks in advance. The general practitioner's office still shows an outdated location on Google, so patients should definitely verify the current address online. Unfortunately, I arrived 10 minutes behind schedule, and they completely denied me access to the nurse. This was incredibly frustrating for multiple reasons. Notably, I didn't receive the standard appointment confirmation text, which is something I regularly get for flu shot appointments. Typically, I'm accustomed to waiting over 20 minutes to see the doctor, but apparently their policy is strict about tardiness. I explained to the receptionist that I was willing to wait or could see the nurse after the cancelled slot, but she flatly refused. While she offered to reschedule, this creates significant inconvenience for me, as I would need to arrange alternative childcare for my baby, which is neither easy nor cost-effective.

Excellent!

Exceptional medical care beyond my wildest expectations

I was skeptical after reading some negative feedback, but this general practice surpasses all others I've encountered. They consistently demonstrate exceptional helpfulness and flexibility whenever assistance is required. The front desk staff are outstanding, the support personnel are top-notch, and every physician I've consulted has been equally impressive.

Bad!

Terrible service and unhelpful staff avoid at all costs

The current wait period of around 4-5 weeks makes seeking alternatives advisable. Every interaction with the front desk personnel has been marked by their discourteous and bureaucratic attitude, consistently attempting to minimize and dismiss patients while intimidating those who voice concerns by threatening removal under the guise of 'abusive behavior'. It's bewildering how such staff members remain employed, and it reflects poorly on the leadership that allows such a deterioration in service quality. This practice has clearly fallen far from its previous standards of excellence.

Terrible customer service at simpson centre

I've been a patron of this establishment for some time, and the front desk staff are absolutely terrible. Nearly all the time, they display an incredibly discourteous attitude. Their lack of professionalism, respect, and basic customer service is glaring. The numerous other reviews on this platform substantiate my criticisms. The complete absence of any corrective measures regarding the abysmal receptionist behavior clearly demonstrates how little the Simpson Centre values or cares about customer experiences.

Terrible service and uncaring medical staff nightmare

I've consistently encountered subpar interactions with this medical practice. The front desk staff are astonishingly discourteous, and there appears to be an entrenched attitude of defensiveness that results in terrible customer service. It's deeply distressing when patients or their companions are met with indifference and a complete lack of empathy, especially during times of illness. My frustration with this surgery knows no bounds. I'm awarding 1 star solely because a zero rating isn't an option. It's disheartening to witness numerous negative reviews with absolutely no indication of efforts to address the underlying issues.

Terrible service from unhelpful nhs receptionist

Staff at the reception desk lack compassion and professionalism. Patients, who are already struggling with illness and emotional distress, are consistently met with discourteous treatment. This is supposedly the standard of care provided by the National Health Service, which is deeply disappointing.

Terrible service and long wait at this clinic

I can never get anyone to pick up the phone when I call. The staff's demeanor is consistently discourteous, and during my visit, I was left sitting in the waiting area for a staggering hour and a half before being acknowledged. It seemed like they had entirely overlooked my presence. It's particularly disappointing because Penn Surgery was such a stellar experience in comparison.

Disappointing decline of once-great medical center

Been at this location for around two decades, the Simpson Center was consistently excellent, but since the pandemic, communication has become nearly impossible. When you do manage to reach someone, they're helpful, yet there's zero follow-up, and re-establishing contact is a nightmare. Whether it's the NHS or @thesimpsoncentre, it seems like they're just processing people like statistics. Truly disappointing.

Terrible service at the simpson centre

I've been a patient at The Simpson Centre ever since relocating to Beaconsfield three decades ago. What was once considered an exceptional medical practice has now deteriorated significantly. Recently, I encountered a frustrating ordeal with medication prescribed by the hospital, which took an exasperating two months to obtain from the surgery. After scheduling a telephone consultation, I endured a month-long wait, only to be met with complete disappointment when no call was received. The reception staff were shockingly discourteous, flatly denying that any appointment had been made. Now, I'm forced to wait again for them to contact me regarding a repeat prescription that wasn't properly added to my records. By the time this issue is resolved, all the therapeutic progress my medication had achieved will have been completely undermined!

Rude receptionist ruins entire medical practice experience

My review centers solely on the reception staff. While some have been pleasant, there's one staff member whose voice I now recognize as truly terrible and unfit for her role. She displays a complete lack of empathy and professionalism, seeming to harbor genuine resentment towards patients. When a doctor's office called to schedule my appointment, she made me feel like an inconvenience during a brief, unbearably uncomfortable interaction. I recognize that reception staff face challenging circumstances and often deal with frustrated patients, but that's no excuse for treating everyone poorly. I'm eagerly anticipating leaving this practice, primarily to avoid the anxiety of potentially encountering this dreadful employee when making phone calls. After examining other reviews, it's abundantly clear that the Simpson Centre has a significant systemic issue that requires immediate and decisive intervention.

Poor!

Horrible customer service wastes my entire month

I contacted the clinic as a 17-year-old and was utterly appalled by the receptionist's hostile and domineering demeanor, which seemed completely unprovoked. I diligently submitted my medical form with urgent symptoms as instructed on their website, only to be told to wait three weeks for a response. When the promised 4 pm call actually came at 2:30 pm while I was unavailable, they blamed me for missing it, dishonestly claimed they had specified the original time, and then pushed me to wait another three weeks. Upon expressing my concern about the urgency of my condition, they miraculously reduced the wait time to a week. The final interaction was a brief two-minute conversation with a doctor who essentially told me to book an in-person appointment when my symptoms are at their worst. I'm frustrated that this entire process has consumed an entire month of my time, with no substantial progress or meaningful communication, all for a two-minute conversation about scheduling another appointment.

Incompetent doctors fail vulnerable patient completely

I am utterly appalled by this completely inadequate medical practice. My extremely vulnerable parent scheduled an appointment with a doctor today, and the physician never appeared. Instead, they were seen by a paramedic who immediately advised hospital admission. Upon reaching the hospital, staff reported they could take no action because the surgery had failed to submit the appropriate documentation. It's absolutely unacceptable. They should be thoroughly embarrassed by their incompetence. My parent is now more distressed and traumatized than before. My strongest recommendation is to avoid this practice entirely and find an alternative medical surgery that actually provides competent care.

Worst medical care and staff ever experienced

The reception personnel are absolutely dreadful. I've long experienced challenges communicating with them by telephone, but this interaction was the absolute breaking point. The staff member dismissively claimed my "concerns weren't significant" and cavalierly stated she would "schedule a physician consultation in two months" without even attempting to understand my specific problems! Seriously, management needs to urgently review and address how their staff interact with patients they're supposedly meant to support and care for. Their 'Klinik' booking system is inefficient and seemingly designed solely to unnecessarily complicate and extend the scheduling process. Despite managing a chronic medical condition, the surgical practice has consistently demonstrated a lackadaisical approach to my medication management, routinely causing delays and committing errors. The current facility is antiquated and fundamentally unsuitable for modern medical requirements. Thankfully, they are constructing a new location to replace this obsolete building.

Worst medical reception service ever experienced

18.6.2021 The receptionist I encountered was incredibly discourteous. When I called to schedule an appointment and inquire about my previously requested essential medication, she curtly informed me it had been rejected by the doctor, emphatically stating DONT ORDER IT AGAIN. (This marks the second instance of critical medicine being denied without any attempt to contact me using the provided phone numbers) She insisted I book an appointment online and completely disregarded my attempts to explain my situation, talking over me and then accusing me of being rude. This was entirely untrue. She was completely unhelpful and abruptly terminated the call. This receptionist demonstrates extreme unprofessionalism, rudeness, and brings embarrassment to the medical practice. She is clearly unsuited to patient interactions and desperately requires comprehensive customer service training. The entire encounter was deeply distressing. I subsequently spent over an hour struggling to book an appointment through klinik, finding the process overwhelmingly complex with numerous irrelevant questions. Eventually, I located the "contact the surgery for follow up form" and completed it. Fortunately, the doctor responded compassionately, conducting a home visit and arranging the previously requested medication. He was bewildered by the initial medication rejection and meticulously discussed my situation. This experience highlights how reception staff can create significant barriers to patient care. The surgery must recognize that online systems are not universally accessible, particularly for individuals without internet access or those with learning difficulties who struggle with complex forms.
