Rude staff and dismissive doctors here

The practice is fairly ordinary with receptionists who could be more helpful and courteous. Some of the clinical staff come across as dismissive and lacking in patience, and the frequent turnover of practitioners at this surgery raises questions. The constant changes in staffing may indicate underlying issues. I am considering transferring to a different surgery in the hope of receiving more attentive care and appropriate management.

Online booking system works really well here

Arranging an appointment at this practice is straightforward and I've experienced no difficulties with the booking process. While several of the clinicians here are genuinely pleasant and helpful, there are a few practitioners whose manner can make you feel like a burden, as though your concerns aren't being taken seriously or that they'd rather you weren't there. It seems to come down to chance which clinician you see. Despite this inconsistency, it remains the most satisfactory GP practice I've attended.

Reception staff made me feel worse, not better

I relocated to this practice several years ago and initially had only positive things to say about it. The team had consistently made me feel at ease and resolved matters efficiently. However, during my recent visits, I encountered staff members whose manner I found to be dismissive and unkind, leaving me quite upset. While they did ask about my concerns, their approach made me feel belittled, with interruptions and a curt demeanor. Given that patients typically attend appointments during difficult times, I've been disappointed that my recent experiences have left me feeling worse than before my visits. I'm quite dissatisfied with this change.

Reception helpful, but clinician made me feel ashamed

I felt deeply ashamed following my recent visit to this practice. I contacted the reception team to arrange a prompt appointment regarding an ear issue causing me discomfort, and they were as helpful and pleasant as always. Unfortunately, my interaction with the clinician who saw me was markedly different. I found them to be dismissive, rushed, and made me feel like a burden when I requested to remove my mask due to a respiratory condition that was affecting my breathing. They also seemed to regard my ear concern with disdain, as though it were beneath their attention. I left feeling very upset, patronised and humiliated in a way I have not experienced with healthcare staff before. It was an altogether distressing appointment. I did speak with reception about my concerns and they responded with their usual warmth and understanding, but this experience has left a lasting impression that I find difficult to move past.

Genuinely positive experience. After reviewing some of the other feedback, I was pleasantly surprised by how helpful, prompt and efficient the staff and clinicians have been. Accessing services has been straightforward without unnecessary waiting, which is noteworthy considering the demands on general practice. Although the facilities could be improved, the team consistently demonstrates courtesy and kindness. This has been a considerably better experience compared to another local practice situated nearby, whose approach seems more rigid and whose team appears less equipped to engage effectively with patients.

I would strongly advise avoiding this practice. I found my experience with the clinical staff to be extremely negative and unhelpful. The reception team also displayed unprofessional behaviour, making unsolicited phone calls that felt confrontational in tone. Following these interactions, I received correspondence that appeared threatening regarding my continued registration with the practice. Despite seeking genuine medical support, I felt that the overall approach was dismissive and disrespectful towards patients. My perception is that this practice does not treat all patients with equal dignity and care.
