Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals significant and persistent challenges with appointment access and reception experience at this practice. The most commonly reported issue is difficulty reaching the surgery by phone, with patients describing lengthy waits, disconnections, and inability to book appointments despite multiple attempts. Appointment availability remains severely constrained, with waits extending to several weeks or longer, and some patients reporting that slots are only offered through same-day morning calls at 8 AM. Reception staff conduct has emerged as a major concern, with feedback describing dismissive attitudes, lack of responsiveness to urgent medical needs, and poor communication skills that leave patients feeling unheard and frustrated.

In contrast, medical staff including several doctors and nursing teams receive consistent praise for compassion, professionalism, and clinical competence. Pharmacy services also receive positive mentions for efficiency and courtesy. However, the stark disparity between clinical care quality and access barriers creates a problematic patient experience. Prescription handling issues, including delays and incomplete orders, compound these access difficulties. Several patients report that the practice continues accepting new registrations despite being unable to manage existing patient demand effectively.

While a small number of recent reviews note improvements in reception responsiveness and phone answer times, the overall pattern indicates systemic organisational challenges requiring urgent attention to appointment scheduling systems, reception training, and care coordination between clinical and administrative teams.

Dangerous medical advice put my baby at risk

Completely appalled by the medical professionals. They claimed my 8-month-old infant could take stool softener and laxatives simultaneously, despite her having a high fever and severe abdominal discomfort. Upon researching online, we discovered this combination is NOT recommended for babies!!! 😡😡😡

Frustrating wait with no communication or help

Scheduled a consultation around 8:40 near 10am, no communication received. Urgently need prescription but unable to connect with staff. Spent 18 minutes on hold, attempted again for 10 more minutes and ultimately abandoned the effort. Initially booked an appointment for 4pm weeks prior, still waiting with no resolution.

Friendly doctors and staff always there for us

I have absolutely no complaints about this medical practice. I've been a patient here for many years, along with my family, and I've never experienced any difficulties scheduling appointments. They have been exceptional with my children. During the periods when my daughter suffered from repeated tonsillitis and was waiting for her tonsillectomy, the doctors were incredibly responsive. Regardless of the time, I could call, and they would promptly examine her and prescribe antibiotics. The doctors are truly remarkable - consistently friendly and going far beyond their basic duties. The entire staff is equally supportive and helpful. I recently required emergency surgery and needed daily wound dressings, which the nursing team expertly managed on very short notice. I would wholeheartedly recommend this practice to anyone seeking a healthcare provider. Especially during these challenging times with immense pressure on the NHS, this surgery consistently demonstrates extraordinary commitment to patient care.

Worst medical practice ever absolute nightmare

An utter embarrassment! Scheduling a pediatric consultation here is impossible unless you're jobless and willing to camp outside the clinic daily, desperately seeking an opening. Phone lines are perpetually blocked, and when you show up in person, the waiting room is deserted with unhelpful receptionists. Their scheduling app is completely worthless, displaying zero available slots. This place deserves less than the lowest possible rating - it's beyond terrible.

Terrible pharmacy service causing serious medication problems

Ever since this medication team took over, they've consistently botched my wife's weekly prescription. I've contacted them repeatedly about their errors - some weeks the prescription doesn't even make it to our pharmacy, and other times they've omitted 2 items completely. I've questioned how they can possibly mess up when she requires 5 items every single week, yet they manage to only send 3. I've been forced to shift her prescription day from Friday to Wednesday because they couldn't reach the doctors until Monday, leaving her without medication over the entire weekend. We never experienced these problems before, and they are absolutely incompetent.

Unhelpful staff overshadow great doctors at medical centre

Recently discharged from surgery, I'm experiencing potential post-operative complications and sought guidance through 111's recommendation. Upon calling my GP, I encountered a receptionist named Eisha who displayed a shocking lack of concern for my situation. Her demeanor was incredibly dismissive and unprofessional, and when I attempted to address my concerns, her senior manager compounded the issue by defending her conduct rather than addressing my legitimate worries. It's particularly frustrating because the actual doctors at this practice, especially Dr Ching and Dr Hussain, are truly exceptional. The stark contrast between the medical staff's quality and the reception team's poor attitude is disappointing. I implore the Village Medical Centre to improve their front-line staff's communication skills and cultivate a more compassionate approach to patient care.

Compassionate healthcare that truly makes a difference

I cannot express enough appreciation for the outstanding treatment provided by the Village Medical Centre staff. Typically, I've been successful in securing a consultation when reaching out first thing in the morning. The personnel are compassionate and have truly exceeded my expectations in recent times. Particularly heartfelt gratitude goes to Dr Baidwan and Lynne.

Worst medical service ever avoid at all costs

I attempted to enroll my spouse as a patient at Jubilee, but inexplicably, she was redirected to this dreadful facility. The front desk staff are bureaucratic and territorial, guarding appointment slots as if they were precious resources. I strongly recommend steering clear of this medical practice. Their operations resemble a call center, with staff openly sharing patient details and conversations. When I requested the name of an employee to file a formal complaint, the receptionist responded menacingly, "I won't disclose my name, but I now know yours" - which felt like an intimidating statement.

Worst medical practice ever experienced in my life

I'd give zero stars if I could because it doesn't even merit one I've been with this practice for nearly six decades, and it's become absolutely appalling! You never see the same physician, and they completely ignore patient concerns, just churning out prescription after prescription without genuine care!! The staff turnover is ridiculous with different receptionists constantly, phone wait times are insane - sometimes up to 45 minutes - and securing an appointment seems impossible, yet the clinic always appears deserted!! This entire operation is an absolute embarrassment that should be shut down immediately!! It's definitely time to find a new medical practice!!

Frustrating healthcare experience with zero communication

Absolutely worthless service. It took me 45 minutes just to get someone on the line. Even when the pharmacy appears empty, there's no way to connect with medical staff. I'm supposed to have a personal consultation every half-year, but I haven't spoken to my doctor by phone in three years. Completely ineffective. Completely useless.

Incompetent doctors fail to properly diagnose patient

Absolutely abysmal medical care. They dispensed potent pain medications to my grandmother without conducting a proper in-person examination. I was present at the clinic when the physician simply instructed the receptionist to schedule a phone consultation, despite the waiting room being completely vacant. This situation has been dragging on since her garden accident in March, and after enduring eight telephone appointments and an emergency room visit, it was finally discovered she has a frozen shoulder requiring injections - something that would have been immediately apparent with a genuine physical assessment. The service is deplorable, and the doctors are incompetent. If you're seeking easy prescription access, this might be your ideal clinic, but for actual medical care, it's a complete disaster.

Frustrating healthcare system fails patients repeatedly

Why are these negative reviews being ignored, and why do GPs continue to use COVID as a barrier to patient care? The wait times for phone calls are endless, and when you finally get through, an untrained receptionist pries into your medical condition—which is frankly inappropriate—and seemingly does everything possible to avoid scheduling a doctor's appointment. When someone calls a GP's surgery due to illness, the clear expectation should be securing a face-to-face consultation with a medical professional. Accessing dental and eye care services is straightforward, yet GP practices persistently hide behind COVID-related excuses. The solution is uncomplicated: when a patient calls, simply arrange a proper in-person doctor's appointment and cease making unnecessary obstacles. Moreover, these practices should stop complaining about patient volume while simultaneously continuing to accept new patients into their practice.
