Patient Experience Summary

Feedback on this GP practice reveals a deeply divided patient experience, with reception and appointment access emerging as the most consistently problematic areas. Patients report significant difficulties securing timely appointments, with waits extending weeks or months even for urgent matters, alongside widespread complaints about discourteous and dismissive reception staff who appear to act as gatekeepers preventing access to clinical care. Communication breakdowns between reception and clinical teams have left patients unable to follow doctors' explicit instructions for booking follow-up consultations.

In contrast, clinical staff including physicians, nurses, and pharmacists receive considerable praise for compassion, professionalism, and attentiveness when patients do manage to access them. The practice environment is described as welcoming and well-maintained, and several patients highlight positive experiences with specific staff members and efficient online consultation systems. However, these pockets of excellence are substantially overshadowed by systemic access barriers, with the appointment booking experience and reception courtesy representing critical service failures that undermine confidence in the practice overall.

Terrible Phone Call with Unhelpful Receptionist

I reached out on 22/03 to schedule an appointment and was thoroughly dismayed by the reception from the staff member who answered. She was absolutely terrible! It seemed that because I didn't provide her with extensive details about my appointment request, she put me on hold twice without any apology for the wait. Her attitude clearly suggested she had no interest in helping me book an appointment. She came across as incredibly unpleasant. Is this now the standard for receptionists - that they get to arbitrarily decide whether patients receive care? I was offered an appointment at the end of April, which is ridiculous! When I called back to request the practice manager's name, I was met with more hostility and questioned about my motives. Really? My friend was present during the call and was equally shocked by her unprofessional behavior. This level of service is completely unacceptable.

Dropped After 15 Years Without Warning

I got a communication from this medical practice stating I'm no longer accepted as a patient due to my geographical distance, yet this wasn't an issue for a decade. My suspicion is that my reluctance to receive the COVID and flu vaccinations played a role. During my last visit over two years ago, the physician instructed me to schedule a follow-up at reception, but when I attempted to book online, the website indicated it wasn't possible. It seems they deliberately discourage appointment bookings, prioritizing only critically ill patients where they can maximize their financial gain. Having been a loyal patient for almost 15 years, I feel betrayed and unfairly dismissed without legitimate justification.

Rude Receptionist Ignored My Urgent Medical Needs

I experienced absolutely terrible treatment this morning on January 26th by the receptionist who was occupied on the phone at 9am, and who didn't even provide her name. I simply requested my blood results and wanted to schedule a urine sample submission along with a doctor's consultation about my results, which had been marked as urgent via text. She abruptly stated she couldn't help me, which confused me greatly since I've been a patient there since childhood and know such services are typically available. I attempted to explain my urgent need calmly, deliberately maintaining a measured tone as I noticed her becoming increasingly agitated. She grew defensive and essentially claimed she could do nothing, suggesting I was being patronizing (seemingly to avoid admitting I wasn't being rude) before ultimately hanging up on me. Needing assistance, I was forced to call back, and despite being first in the queue, I was left on hold for 20 minutes. When finally answered, she only permitted me to drop off a urine sample but provided no guidance about my test results. I felt completely dehumanized and disrespected, with her dismissively claiming everyone experiences challenges and that my situation was insignificant. I believe this interaction requires investigation, as it's unacceptable for a receptionist to treat a serious medical patient with such profound disrespect, especially when that patient remained composed. I still require further assistance but will attempt to call later to avoid interacting with her again.

Terrible Care for My Wife's Chronic Pain

I'm considering switching general practitioners. The GP practice here shows complete indifference towards patient well-being. My wife has been enduring intense pain for the past three to four months. I reached out multiple times, and each interaction resulted in being told to wait. When we requested a physiotherapist referral, the GP falsely claimed the NHS doesn't provide such services. This turned out to be untrue. Consequently, I consulted a private physiotherapist, which led to noticeable improvement and revealed that the initial medical assessment was inaccurate.

My Trusted Doctors Since the Late 80s

I've been a patient at this practice since 1988, and I have absolutely no complaints. They've consistently provided excellent care. The female physicians are particularly sharp and attentive, and while Doc Martin is indeed part of the team, men tend to be naturally irritable. Healthcare practices are currently experiencing tremendous strain, and those seeking VIP treatment might want to consider private healthcare. After all, doctors are only human. Kudos to the entire team for their outstanding service!

Dr Rehman and Staff Made Me Feel Comfortable

Dr. Rehman impressed me with her extensive knowledge and wonderful demeanor - I'd give her top marks for her approach. The three receptionists were equally welcoming and supportive. Throughout my experiences here, I've encountered zero issues and would enthusiastically recommend this medical practice to anyone seeking quality care.

Receptionists Still Rude at This Medical Practice

Initially, I thought the reception staff at this medical practice had turned a corner. Regrettably, they've reverted to their previously discourteous and abrupt behavior, both in person and over the telephone. Their communication style makes patients feel powerless and intimidated. I implore the physicians to take action: the consistent feedback in patient reviews highlights this ongoing issue, but no improvements have been implemented. There is absolutely no justification for treating patients or anyone else with such disrespect and patronizing attitude.

Weird Advice from Receptionists at This Practice

RECEPTION: Inexplicably, the front desk staff seem to believe they possess the medical knowledge to dictate when you should schedule a doctor's consultation - how peculiar! DOCTORS: The quality varies dramatically; some physicians are warm and approachable, while others make you question their suitability for a profession that fundamentally requires interpersonal skills. FACILITIES: Fairly standard, with a spacious waiting room. However, the on-site parking is extremely limited, so it's advisable to use the Mercian Park Car Park located nearby.

Doctor with Glasses Seemed Uninterested

I visited the medical practice for my child and encountered a male physician, whose name escapes me but who wore glasses. Despite offering assistance, his demeanor appeared disinterested, with a notably relaxed posture that involved leaning or slouching in his chair. This body language struck me as somewhat inappropriate, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere during my visit. Considering I'm a new patient, the overall experience has been tolerable thus far.

Endless Waiting and Rude Staff at This Surgery

This medical practice has deteriorated to an unacceptable level. Their appointment scheduling is a complete nightmare - every time I attempt to book, they claim they're fully booked and instruct me to call back in two weeks. When I follow their instructions and call again after two weeks, they repeat the same frustrating response, creating an endless cycle that prevents me from securing an appointment. The reception staff are unprofessional, discourteous, and seem to lack any sense of customer service or basic respect. I am thoroughly disheartened by this experience and am actively seeking to transfer to a different medical surgery.

Frustrating wait times at this clinic

Zero Stars. Complete time-sucks. They insist on in-person meetings despite offering phone consultations, clearly just to showcase their paperwork. (It's a business model) Endless waiting for appointments. They'll schedule you once your condition improves, and when the issue returns, you're back to another prolonged wait. Absolute time wasters.

Dr. Sarkar Saved the Day for Me

I must express that the majority of male physicians appear disengaged or ineffective. In contrast, the female doctors, particularly Dr. Sarkar, have been exceptionally competent and caring. They deserve recognition for their outstanding service. This disparity in medical care absolutely warrants an investigation by the practice management!
