When I spoke with their front desk staff earlier today, I was told that the sole avenue for securing a GP consultation is by filling out an e-consult form, which must be submitted precisely at 8:30 AM. In my professional opinion, this restrictive system lacks the necessary adaptability and fails to offer patients a reasonable range of appointment booking methods.

If there were a rating below zero, I'd use it without hesitation. What sort of medical practice confronts patients with a pre-recorded message declaring they can't be reached during office hours? After making approximately 20 futile connection attempts, you might, if fortunate, find yourself stuck in a 45-minute waiting line, only to ultimately receive a text message with an e-consultation link from the receptionist.

Incredible gp practice with compassionate and caring staff

After two decades in the UK and being registered with multiple GP practices, I had never experienced the level of care and compassion I truly needed when discussing my health concerns. However, everything changed when I joined this particular GP practice. Throughout my numerous visits since registering, I have consistently received exceptional service from every staff member. Without a doubt, this is the finest medical practice I have ever encountered. Each time I arrive, the receptionists greet me with warm, genuine smiles, efficiently checking my records and guiding me through the next steps. The doctors consistently demonstrate extraordinary dedication to patient care. During my most recent visit, the attending physician was remarkably kind, attentive, understanding, and professional, once again delivering outstanding service. I am deeply grateful to this doctor and the entire team, and I sincerely wish them continued success and patients who appreciate their remarkable commitment to healthcare.

Incompetent surgery fails basic patient care expectations

I've been receiving medical care at the Village Surgery for decades, since my youth. Regrettably, a toxic blend of indifference and profound incompetence, conveniently masked by COVID-related excuses, has transformed this practice into a complete organizational disaster. And I use the term "practice" very generously. A straightforward task of filling out a BUPA form, which was submitted on September 12th, has necessitated numerous email follow-ups and over seven phone calls. As holiday music now plays in the background, I'm still futilely attempting to obtain this simple document.

Terrible service and zero patient care from gp

Following a grueling 6-week wait for a telephone consultation, I was connected with a GP I never intended to consult in the first place. The conversation dragged on for a mere 3 minutes and 44 seconds, and would have been even briefer had I not attempted to ask a question before the doctor hastily dismissed me without genuinely addressing my medical concern. I am now actively seeking to transfer to a different medical practice. For the very first time in my life, I feel completely abandoned and without proper medical support. AVOID REGISTERING WITH THIS SURGERY AT ALL COSTS.

Worst customer service ever avoid at all costs

I've been attempting to schedule an appointment for eight weeks without success!!!! The customer service has been utterly abysmal and the employees were completely incompetent!!! I rarely write reviews, but the experience has been so horrendous and my problem remains unresolved!!!! I'm extremely anxious that the situation might deteriorate further, which is generating significant anxiety for me!!!!! Terrible service from uncaring doctors at village surgery

This marks my second instance of submitting a 1-star review and only the second time I've interacted with this practice in numerous years. I endured the standard month-long wait for a brief 10-minute telephone consultation to receive results (which were entirely normal and could have easily been communicated by someone other than a doctor, potentially avoiding such a lengthy waiting period). During a mere 2 minutes and 17 seconds, the doctor attempted to hastily conclude our call. When I tried to discuss another minor health concern, Dr Hesterman informed me there were numerous patients waiting and I'd need to schedule another appointment. I was absolutely livid, having waited so long only to be allocated less than 3 minutes of her time. I contribute approximately £480 in National Insurance monthly, rarely utilize the service, and when I do, this is the treatment received. My entire family has experienced comparable mistreatment. My mother was dismissed regarding hip surgery and ultimately paid privately. My sister was brushed aside about a cough, only to later discover she had stage 4 lymphoma cancer. I am utterly disgusted that healthcare professionals can be among the most discourteous individuals I've encountered. This surgery demonstrates a complete lack of empathy, rushing patients as if they're inconsequential. While I understand the health service is understaffed, this does not justify treating individuals so callously. These are our health and, fundamentally, our lives. Following the phone call, I commenced registration with a recommended alternative practice. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT recommend The Village Surgery.

Terrible service since doctor's retirement avoid this practice

When Dr. McElligott was leading the practice, it was exceptional, but standards have dramatically declined since his retirement. Currently, I'm forced to endure a four-week wait just for a brief telephone consultation, and every physician I've encountered seems hurried and abruptly cuts conversations short, claiming they're "extremely busy". During my most recent interaction, when I expressed feeling unwell, the doctor callously suggested I visit a Walk-in centre! Their lack of patient care is appalling, and they represent a complete professional failure. These general practice clinics deserve complete dismantling, and their indifferent, complacent doctors should be reassigned to emergency departments to truly understand the meaning of being genuinely busy!!!

I haven't utilized my medical practice for over four years, and I'm thoroughly appalled by the unprofessional conduct and demeanor of the staff at The Village Surgery in East Barnet. The experience has been nothing short of frustrating: I endured a month-long wait just to secure a brief 5-minute telephone consultation, followed by another month of complete uncertainty regarding my MRI scan referral. To make matters worse, after four weeks, I was abruptly instructed to physically visit the surgery to collect a form for my medical tests. The reception staff are incredibly discourteous, consistently dismissive, and demonstrate a shocking lack of empathy and human compassion. I've never felt more isolated and anxious about my health situation. I am desperately seeking recommendations for an alternative medical practice in the Barnet area.
