Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience across the practice. Clinical care receives consistent praise, with patients highlighting professional, attentive, and compassionate clinicians who listen carefully to concerns and provide reassurance. However, significant challenges emerge around appointment access and booking systems. Many patients report difficulty securing appointments, with inflexible call-in windows at specific times and lengthy waits between booking and availability. Reception experience is inconsistent, with some patients describing helpful and welcoming staff while others report dismissive or unhelpful interactions. Communication gaps appear in several areas, including delayed test result notifications and lack of proactive follow-up.

Waiting times present a recurring concern, with patients experiencing both delays before being seen and extended waits for follow-up consultations and referral processing. Some patients note that newer digital booking systems, while intended to improve access, have become overly complicated and are pushing patients toward emergency services for conditions that could be managed in primary care. Administrative delays, particularly around referrals and prescriptions, have frustrated patients seeking timely treatment.

Positive feedback emphasises the quality of clinical consultations, with patients appreciating when they feel genuinely heard and supported. Several reviews acknowledge the practice's improvements over time and recognise the pressures facing NHS services. However, the combination of appointment access difficulties, inconsistent reception responsiveness, and communication gaps suggests systemic issues that warrant attention to ensure patients can access care reliably and feel valued throughout their experience.

Friendly nurse made screening tests feel relaxed

I attended this practice for blood work and cervical screening. The healthcare professional who assisted me was exceptionally warm and demonstrated a high level of professionalism throughout. I have undergone similar screening procedures in different locations previously, but the experience here was notably more comfortable and reassuring than what I have encountered elsewhere. I would happily recommend this practice to others.

Long waits but competent care provided

The medical staff are competent, I won't dispute that. However, the waiting times are exceptionally lengthy.

Easy to book appointments for children

I feel the surgery is excellent and it's straightforward to book appointments for children. There can be slightly longer waits for adult appointments occasionally, though the team consistently listens to any concerns raised and makes efforts to provide assistance. Overall, very satisfactory.

Kept waiting then treated with coldness

We experienced a significant delay of around 30 minutes for our scheduled appointment. When we were eventually seen, there was no acknowledgement of the wait time. The clinician's demeanor throughout the consultation was notably cold and unwelcoming, which upset my teenage child who accompanied me. When I requested an examination, the response was dismissive, with reference to other patients waiting. The tone in which this was delivered was particularly disconcerting. We had remained within the allocated timeframe, yet the overall interaction left us feeling like we were an inconvenience. The lack of warmth and professional courtesy throughout the visit was disappointing, and we left feeling distinctly uncomfortable.

Clean surgery with friendly staff and helpful online booking

Have been attending this practice for seven years and witnessed consistent improvements throughout that period. The facility is always immaculately maintained, the front desk team are genuinely welcoming (in contrast to some other practices that can feel rather unwelcoming), and the clinical staff are excellent. The recently introduced digital services are genuinely impressive. It is considerably more convenient to access the online system to arrange appointments and submit prescription requests at your own convenience rather than spending considerable time on telephone calls attempting to locate an available time slot. Would gladly recommend this practice to others.

Long waits but otherwise superb

Excellent practice. The main drawback is the length of time spent waiting for appointments.

Friendly staff and worth the wait times

I have been attending this practice since relocating to the UK, and I have no complaints whatsoever. The team members are genuinely welcoming and the clinicians are outstanding. Naturally, there are occasional waits of around thirty minutes, but this is understandable given the nature of NHS services. I would much prefer to experience some waiting time while receiving exceptional clinical care than to have the alternative.

Hard to book appointments when you're ill

It can be challenging to secure an appointment during times of illness, as the practice requires calls to be made at specific times of day or attendance at a walk-in centre. While it is possible to contact the surgery during these designated hours, the phone lines are frequently either unavailable or continuously busy. The reception team members appear disengaged and unhelpful when contacted. However, the clinical staff themselves provide good care when consultations are eventually obtained.

Fast referral process worked smoothly

The practice appears to be well-organised from my perspective. I did not encounter the issues that some other reviewers have described, and I received a prompt referral to the specialist eye service at the hospital.

Bad!

Long waits and no explanation given

Extremely disappointing experience. Despite having an early slot, there was a significant delay before being seen, with no communication provided about the wait. The practice appears to be turning away many requests for appointments, citing unavailability. The entire process of securing an appointment proved frustrating, and this frustration was compounded by the lengthy wait time once there.
