Great GP practice

We are so fortunate have access to such a good surgery. Amazing receptionists who are empathetic and really try to direct you to the right person within the practice. I’ve known Dr Utting and Dr Heath for 17 years, and they have always listened and treated my family with great care and compassion. The location of the new surgery is so much better and it has allowed the practice to grow and offer the services we need. On one occasion, needing a same day appointment, I was directed to the Urgent Care Centre in Easingwold and I had really good care from Fiona (GP). The NHS is under such pressure, it’s hard to sustain a high quality of care but we appreciate the whole team effort at Tollerton surgery. Thank you 😊

Not fit for purposes

Absolute state of this place and the hysterical woman we were unfortunate enough to deal with. I’ve never in my life come across anyone so rude. This place and its staff are not trained or competent to deal with people who have mental health problems. This place is an absolute disgrace to the NHS and its hard working staff.

They consistently pick up the phone quickly and efficiently. Their professionalism is impeccable. Booking appointments is swift. The staff are warm and supportive. The facility is spotless and contemporary. While local standards are demanding, this practice genuinely meets and exceeds every expectation. I consider myself fortunate to have such an outstanding local medical team.

Late afternoon lifesaver at the clinic

In the past, I've been vocal about the challenges of securing appointments at this medical practice. However, a recent experience completely changed my perspective. Late in the day, I called with worrying symptoms, and the receptionist was exceptional - professional, warm, and incredibly reassuring. She quickly arranged an immediate consultation with a GP and a face-to-face appointment within just 15 minutes, despite the surgery being on the verge of closing. They efficiently scheduled hospital tests for that evening or the next day, and I even received a prescription, well beyond their standard operating hours. At the hospital, the process was remarkably swift, with tests taking merely 15 minutes. The attending physician promptly forwarded the test results upon receiving them. I am deeply grateful to everyone involved for providing what can only be described as exceptional, compassionate service and care.

Prescription lost and app not working

I was completely misled by their service. I called about an urgent prescription and was instructed to pick it up that afternoon, but due to timing constraints, I couldn't collect it before closing. When I went in the next morning, they claimed the prescription wasn't ready, despite having a clear message stating it should have been available that afternoon. It appears they essentially handed my medication to another patient and then fabricated an excuse. Now I'm left without my essential prescription, which is incredibly problematic. To make matters worse, their app has become completely non-functional after a recent update, and my only available break is at 1pm, which is after the dispensary line closes. This means I get reprimanded whenever I try to inquire about my prescription.

Frustrated by confusing vaccine age restrictions

I'm thoroughly disappointed. I arrived for my scheduled flu vaccine appointment, being over 60 and eligible, only to be informed that this particular clinic exclusively serves those 65 and older. This is despite the fact that the NHS website had no issues confirming and accepting my original appointment booking.

Awful receptionists ruin this medical practice

The administrative staff and practice manager provide absolutely terrible service. They come across as conceited, discourteous, and completely unaccommodating. Despite healthcare being their primary responsibility, they display zero compassion towards patients. I've experienced ongoing issues with this medical practice. While the doctors themselves are friendly and competent, the reception team is incredibly problematic. Securing a telephone consultation is an arduous process, and getting an in-person appointment seems almost impossible. The two-week wait for a simple telephone consultation is completely unacceptable. I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I advise against choosing this surgery for medical care.

Currently, the entire physician team consists of female doctors, but as a male patient, I've never felt uncomfortable or out of place. The staff are genuinely committed to providing good care, though I've noticed the reception personnel can sometimes come across as a bit cool or distant.
