Easy booking and queue visibility made the difference

Absolutely five out of five. Recently registered with this Practice following a house move. Appointments are straightforward to arrange, and the team has been very responsive across all interactions. The telephone system includes a feature that allows you to track your position in the queue when contacting reception. From my perspective, having visibility of wait times is preferable to uncertainty about how long you might be waiting. I must say, this experience has been considerably better than what I encountered at my previous practices.

The reception staff could be more welcoming. During wet weather, patients were required to wait outside even though covered shelter was available, which seemed unnecessary. There appeared to be inconsistency in how different patients were treated. This role would benefit from a more compassionate and respectful approach to patient interactions.

This practice has not met my expectations. The clinical team came across as dismissive when I raised my health concerns. On one visit, I felt my symptoms were not taken seriously, and on another occasion, I was unable to access the support I needed as appointments were unavailable. Additionally, I was informed that prescription renewals would require an appointment to be scheduled first.

Early morning calls get same-day appointments

I have nothing but praise for the medical professionals at this practice. If you call early enough you can see the practitioner of your choice. Appointments are consistently available on the same day. I hear about the difficulties others experience with their healthcare providers, and I feel quite fortunate and privileged to have access to such a capable and attentive team.

Registration process took far too long

The registration process took considerably longer than expected, despite multiple attempts to communicate about an urgent matter. Several weeks passed before the process was completed for my family member who was unwell during this time. I found the experience frustrating, as there appeared to be limited understanding of the situation, and I was informed that early morning appointment slots were unavailable.

Reception staff cancelled appointment while patient waited inside

Most times there's a wait of around 10 minutes before being seen, yet arriving a couple of minutes late results in immediate cancellation. I made a considerable effort to get to my appointment, arriving out of breath after a lengthy journey, and waited respectfully while the receptionist completed a phone call. Another receptionist appeared to be occupied elsewhere. After waiting several minutes for attention, I received a text notification that my appointment had been cancelled despite already being present in the waiting area. With no other patients there, I felt frustrated and considered responding to the situation, though the receptionists offered explanations attributing responsibility to me. I chose to leave without further discussion. Given my own experience working within the NHS and understanding the importance of demonstrating care and compassion toward patients, I found the reception experience fell significantly short of these standards. This was disappointing.

Disappointing experience overall. The communication could have been better, and it seems staffing is limited with restricted availability. Getting an appointment took considerable time, and when I finally attended, I was informed that a particular service I needed wasn't available at this practice. As a new patient, this was my first visit, and unfortunately it will also be my last.

A clinician made a home visit to my elderly relative on the same day I requested it. They demonstrated remarkable helpfulness and compassion throughout. I recently joined this practice and underwent several blood tests and appointments, only to discover I would need to repeat the process. I'm grateful for one particular clinician who demonstrated exceptional skill and care. A previous clinician's approach was less thorough, with a brief examination and failure to identify some readily apparent concerns, despite encouraging me to return for follow-up and support. Additionally, a scheduled absence disrupted continuity of care. However, this turned out to be beneficial in the end. The clinician I subsequently saw was outstanding—thoroughly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in exploring all available options. Their approach completely restored my confidence in the practice. I had been considering switching practices due to my earlier experience, but I would now stay if this clinician continues to work here. They provided excellent care. My overall rating reflects the mixed experience with different clinicians, though I would rate my most recent care experience exceptionally highly.

Prescription refill took days longer than promised

I requested a prescription refill on Monday and was informed it would be available at the pharmacy by Tuesday, or Wednesday at the latest. When I visited the pharmacy on Tuesday, I was told they had not received it. I returned to the pharmacy today only to learn that it had not been dispatched by the practice. My medication supply ended after Monday, and this is not something I can discontinue without consequence. The pharmacy has now indicated it will be ready for collection tomorrow, though I have reservations about this timeline. Over the past two days, I have been without my medication and have noticed unwanted effects from not taking it, alongside missing the benefits it normally provides. This experience has left me disappointed with the level of service provided by the practice.
