Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a markedly mixed experience across the practice. Positive feedback highlights the benefits of same-day appointment access and the PATCHES booking system, which patients report enables prompt consultations often within hours of submission. Communication regarding medications and follow-up care receives praise, as does the courtesy and responsiveness of reception and clinical staff in many interactions. Several patients commend the professional care and reassurance provided by nursing and medical staff, with particular appreciation for continuity of care and supportive consultations.

However, significant concerns emerge around appointment access difficulties, with some patients reporting challenges securing consultations despite the online system. Communication breakdowns feature prominently, including missed callbacks, lack of explanation for cancellations, and inadequate follow-up regarding test results and referrals. Prescription management issues are frequently cited, with patients reporting incomplete medication batches, repeated errors in prescriptions, and extended periods without essential medications. Reception experience varies considerably, with some reporting courtesy and helpfulness whilst others describe staff as dismissive, unhelpful, and discourteous.

Waiting time experiences are mixed, ranging from prompt same-day access to extended waits. Staff attitude concerns surface in multiple reviews, with some patients describing interactions as condescending or disrespectful. The practice's responsiveness to urgent matters shows inconsistency, with some patients receiving rapid attention whilst others report difficulty reaching the practice for critical issues. These patterns suggest variable service delivery across different areas of the practice.

Debbie's unhelpful email made me switch doctors

Sought medical assistance while feeling extremely unwell, and Debbie, a nurse, responded via email instead of calling or examining me in person, without a doctor's involvement. She suggested I need to manage my asthma independently! Consequently, I switched medical practices and consulted another clinic, who immediately suspected Covid. A doctor called within 45 minutes, confirming a positive test! Clearly, Debbie's assessment was completely incorrect. Dan's performance was equally subpar, ultimately departing for private healthcare. Their support was chaotic and indifferent. I've abandoned Tudor Surgery, feeling utterly dejected and unsupported. Nurse Sarah even had me preparing for blood tests related to steroid treatment, despite not actually being prescribed steroids!! Undoubtedly the most incompetent medical practice I've encountered.

Daughter's pain dismissed again

My daughter is receiving treatment at this medical practice. Repeatedly, her health concerns have been essentially ignored. She constantly gets brushed aside without proper attention. Right now, she's actually waiting for a callback today. She experienced intense pain again last night. I've advised her to visit the emergency department today. She should have summoned an ambulance at 3am this morning due to severe chest tightness. The situation is absolutely unacceptable. She consulted a nurse last week who prescribed antibiotics. While I mean no disrespect, the nurse lacks the comprehensive medical expertise of a doctor. I strongly believe she should have undergone blood tests, along with stool and urine sample analyses to properly diagnose her condition. It's utterly scandalous, especially considering the numerous negative reviews about this surgery. How can such treatment be considered acceptable? I'm desperately hoping my daughter receives proper medical care today, as her condition has persisted for two weeks and has now deteriorated even further since last night.

Waited too long for physio care

A dreadful experience with substandard healthcare 'What can one expect as a 56-year-old woman battling arthritis' 'This establishment is hardly a proper medical facility' Denying essential care post-surgery - even rejecting basic blood screenings for pre-existing conditions Effectively abandoning my medical needs for two entire years, regardless of the health issue Prolonged waiting for physiotherapy led to secondary bursitis These individuals are completely unfit to manage patient health and welfare - utterly disgraceful The sole redeeming factor is their exceptional nursing staff. Dr Spooner - a misogynistic, patronizing, and arrogant practitioner Dr Malone - words fail to capture the depth of his unprofessionalism Horrendous - simply horrendous - I am definitely transferring to Wrenbury. If a zero-star rating were possible, I would unquestionably select it

Sister Sarah's caring guidance

I highly endorse this medical practice and their outstanding team. Their communication regarding medications and yearly check-ups is absolutely top-notch. Scheduling appointments is incredibly straightforward and convenient. Obtaining test results and arranging follow-up consultations is seamless. My follow-up appointments with Sister Sarah were particularly noteworthy, as her guidance was both compassionate and professionally sound. I extend my sincere gratitude to the entire team.

Unhelpful gp left me hanging again

Kelly provided assistance on Saturday 10/6/23 and scheduled a phone consultation with a general practitioner. However, no call was received as planned. When I reached out on Monday morning to inquire about the missed appointment, the GP seemed uninterested in speaking with me and failed to communicate any reason for the cancellation. This lack of communication is unfortunately a recurring issue with this practice.

Dismissive doctor missed my serious hernia

When experiencing chest pains, I attempted to secure a medical consultation at Tudor Surgery. Their online system discourages in-person GP visits, and I received a phone consultation with Dr. Spooner, who dismissively attributed my symptoms to stress. As my condition deteriorated, I reluctantly secured an in-person appointment where Dr. Spooner begrudgingly examined me, remarking sarcastically, "I suppose you want me to listen to your chest". After a brief examination revealing nothing unusual, he declared my pain psychological, insisting it was merely stress-related and advising me to relax. He seemed particularly skeptical when I emphasized my non-smoking status. Frustrated, I transferred to Nantwich Health Centre, where I quickly received a face-to-face consultation, comprehensive testing, and a definitive diagnosis of a hiatus hernia. While I'm not typically vindictive, I remain deeply frustrated by Dr. Spooner's unprofessional and patronizing approach. Though other practitioners at Tudor Surgery might be competent, my personal experience was one of prolonged, unnecessary suffering due to his negligence. My recommendation is clear: steer well clear of Tudor Surgery and Dr. Spooner.

Impossible to reach when i need help

Attempting to communicate with this organization about critical matters is an absolute ordeal. Their responsiveness is abysmal, with my attempts to reach out consistently met with silence, compelling me to make repeated calls just to elicit any acknowledgment. The consequences have been dire - I've been deprived of essential medication for extended periods, resulting in significant health deterioration. Their complete disregard for patient welfare is glaring, and I'm convinced their conduct borders on medical negligence.

Long wait but worth it with Dr Malone

Called for an urgent consultation at 2pm, connected with a physician at 5:15pm, and finally met with Dr. Malone at 5:35pm... incredible experience. The doctor took ample time, conducted a thorough examination, and was exceptionally attentive, especially considering I hadn't visited a general practitioner in several years.

Rude receptionist ruined our medical visit

I'm thoroughly disappointed with a recent medical interaction. My partner submitted a standard prescription through their Patches system and attempted to discuss medication changes made previously without his consent or prior communication. He was met with an incredibly unprofessional and condescending response from a staff member I'd rather not identify. Not only was her information factually incorrect when compared to previous communications, but her demeanor was aggressively accusatory and entirely inappropriate, especially when interacting with someone who is unwell. The customer service approach was shockingly disrespectful and lacks basic empathy. Healthcare professionals should remember they are dealing with vulnerable patients who deserve compassion and understanding, not dismissive and hostile treatment. This experience was unacceptable, and significant improvement is urgently needed in your approach to patient interactions. Do better!

Frustrated by height and weight check

I scheduled an appointment specifically with a Doctor - and only a Doctor, not anyone else! I arrived early, and was pleasantly surprised when someone invited me through. I thought, "Finally, some proper service!" But my optimism quickly vanished. No Doctor appeared, and I found myself hoping the receptionist might be a suitable alternative - they certainly seem to act like medical professionals. Instead, a female staff member greeted me and announced she would "measure my height", weigh me, and check my blood pressure. How wonderful - I already know my height and weight, and yes, now I'm stressed. Congratulations, Tudor Surgery in Nantwich, for being so utterly ineffective! Mosslands surgery in Irlam, Manchester is fantastic - it's just a shame I can't go there due to the 40-mile distance. I feel much better having expressed my frustration. At least my blood pressure is okay now 👍
