Excellent care hampered by terrible phone system
Regarding medical care, I've experienced exceptional service - comprehensive, compassionate, and prompt. Their medication distribution is also top-notch. So why not a perfect rating? The telephone system is incredibly aggravating. I've communicated these concerns to their administrative staff via email, but received no response. For instance, while waiting in the queue, I'll progress from position #7 to #5, then inexplicably revert back to #7 instead of advancing to #4 as logic would suggest. Additionally, being left on hold indefinitely with nothing but repetitive background music and automated announcements is tiresome. I've recommended that their technical support team investigate these communication system glitches.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs
Do yourself a favor and seek medical care elsewhere, even if it means traveling a bit further. I would rate them zero stars if possible. They incorrectly assessed my son's tongue tie condition and declined to provide a referral because the physician couldn't identify the issue. It took more than three weeks to complete a simple insurance form. Their internal communication is utterly disorganized. The staff appears completely confused, even regarding straightforward matters.

Getting an appointment at this practice is a nightmare. The front desk personnel are dismissive and arrogantly believe they can assess your medical eligibility through a brief phone conversation. What truly pushed me over the edge was being carelessly prescribed an extremely potent medication for a minor condition, completely overlooking my documented allergies. The result was weeks of severe illness and, more critically, lasting health damage that persists over a year later. I've ultimately abandoned this surgery to protect both my mental and physical well-being - the bitter twist being that the very place meant to care for my health has done the exact opposite!

I've been a patient at Twyford surgery for close to two decades. Throughout this time, there have been highs and lows, which is simply part of life... if you anticipate getting everything exactly as you want, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. From my perspective, the staff are exceptionally courteous, supportive, and kind 99% of the time. This remains true even when they're overwhelmed, stretched thin, and have just dealt with particularly difficult patients. They aren't superhuman and shouldn't be expected to be - they're ordinary people working within established guidelines and constraints. Multiple relatives and acquaintances have repeatedly commented on how superior my medical practice is compared to their own, particularly in managing our family's intricate medication requirements, arranging specialist referrals, and handling general healthcare needs.

Getting an appointment at this medical practice is incredibly frustrating. I attempted to schedule a follow-up two weeks before my vacation, but was only offered a slot two days after I return. They couldn't accommodate me during the two weeks prior to my trip. No consideration was given to the urgency or nature of my appointment - the only option presented was to call daily at 8am. This isn't an isolated incident, but a recurring problem every time I try to book a consultation. Their standard approach seems to be offering appointments weeks in the future, which is useless when you're currently unwell, or suggesting daily phone calls that result in a telephone consultation. Despite being an established patient with an ongoing prescription and continuing health concerns, I feel completely unsupported. It's impossible to feel confident in their care. The added stress of navigating their appointment system is overwhelming when you're already dealing with health issues. The sole reason this isn't a zero-star review is that the actual doctor consultation is good - but the administrative process is deeply flawed.

After enduring an incredibly challenging circumstance where we were essentially abandoned by our previous doctors following 36 years of care, Twyford Doctors Surgery has mercifully welcomed my husband and me. Though it's still early in our relationship, today being particularly stressful, the Twyford surgery, and specifically a wonderfully compassionate staff member named Francesca, went to extraordinary lengths to assist me despite having minimal background information. I want to personally express my heartfelt gratitude and can only regret that we didn't make this transition sooner.
