Expensive surcharge and no gp help

I shelled out an exorbitant amount for the Immigration Health Surcharge as an international student, yet I'm unable to secure a GP appointment with my university-registered doctor. They consistently ignore my calls, regardless of the time—morning, mid-morning, or early morning. It feels like a complete rip-off. Frustrated and ill, I'm venting my frustration here because my only option is to purchase over-the-counter medications from local stores. Congratulations on exploiting our financial resources and well-being.

Mia was kind, but service fell apart

0 stars, they misrepresented their post-discharge support and subsequently refused assistance because I was no longer under their care. With the exception of Mia Curran, who was compassionate and helpful during my initial assessment, the rest of the staff, including Natalie Mearns, Ruth Smith, and the administrative personnel, provided an unhelpful and dismissive experience. Reaching out for help was incredibly difficult for me, and this interaction has significantly undermined my confidence in seeking support in the future.

Useless doctor's ring back left me suffering

The doctor's callback service was completely unhelpful. They simply advised taking paracetamol without providing any meaningful explanation or guidance. Both the medical personnel and the physician appeared disinterested in arranging an in-person consultation. I was experiencing a high fever and was practically immobilized for 48 hours. It wasn't until I contacted the 111 service that I managed to secure a same-day appointment. Ultimately, it was discovered that I was suffering from strep throat and urgently required antibiotics - a diagnosis the original medical team hadn't even attempted to investigate.

I've been a patient at this medical practice for several years now. Their staff are consistently accessible and courteous. The nursing and medical professionals are compassionate and attentive. I've experienced no issues with medication management. I'd recommend that those who complain should compare this service to practices in Swale and other areas, where healthcare support is practically nonexistent. Patient expectations are often unrealistic; naturally, there will be periods when resources are limited and staff are under pressure. People are remarkably quick to criticize but reluctant to offer praise. Kudos to the university medical centre!
