Long waits and broken appointment promises frustrated me

Called the day before requesting an appointment but none were available, so I was advised to ring before 10am the following morning. I phoned at 8:35am and again at 10am but was informed no appointments could be offered. I was told a callback would be arranged and received one at 3pm, with the message that I might be contacted anytime up until 6pm. This fell short of what I expected. The service provided was disappointing. I waited until 6pm without receiving either a call or an appointment slot. I feel this waiting period was unreasonable and I should not have had to wait so long without being seen. I am making a formal complaint to the relevant authority. I have recordings of all my calls to the surgery that day and conducted myself politely throughout these interactions. Regardless of any training considerations, I believe I should have received a call or been seen, particularly as the instructions clearly stated that calling before 10am would secure an appointment, which did not happen in my case, and I did not cancel my request.

This practice was an extremely stressful environment in which to seek assistance. I was unaware of the significant shortcomings until I transferred to another surgery, where I have since experienced considerably better care. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Reception kept passing us between appointments

The practice was extremely disappointing and disorganised. I felt the clinical team lacked competence in their assessments. They were unwilling to examine my young infant, dismissing concerns as minor when there was actually a serious underlying condition present that required hospital treatment. My child spent a week receiving inpatient care and eventually recovered, though they were also dealing with a concurrent viral illness. My partner experienced significant frustration with the appointment system, facing multiple cancellations and being shuffled between different services. There were also concerns about the accuracy of clinical notes and communication regarding what was discussed during consultations. The overall attitude from staff left much to be desired. I would rate this experience far more negatively if the system allowed it.

I'm dealing with significant issues affecting both my joints, with surgery anticipated for one of them. I've been assured of return calls on multiple occasions, yet none have materialised. When I recently tried to arrange a therapeutic procedure, I was informed that the clinician who performs this is unavailable, with no reasoning provided—just another assurance of a callback that feels unlikely to happen. This treatment is a quick procedure needed every six months, so I'm puzzled by the difficulty in accessing it, particularly given the considerable daily discomfort I'm experiencing. I'm hopeful for relief but increasingly doubtful it will occur in the near future. The standard of care has been disappointing and has affected my wellbeing.

I have been experiencing an acute skin condition for the past three weeks. When I requested a consultation, I received a callback the same day. The clinician I spoke with demonstrated genuine care, understanding, and strong medical knowledge. I required blood tests and, despite having difficult veins, the phlebotomist was persistent and successfully completed the procedure. Overall, I found the team and practice to be excellent.

Staff put me at ease during appointment

I attended the surgery today for a blood test appointment. The nursing staff member was absolutely amazing and helped calm my nerves. I usually have to attend an external blood clinic as I typically experience difficulty with blood draws. The staff member talked to me throughout the procedure and put me at ease. I'm very grateful for the supportive care I received.

My grandson, who is a young child, experienced serious breathing difficulties, but there was no one available to assess his condition or provide guidance on how serious it was. Friendly midwives and nurses throughout pregnancy

I visit frequently due to my pregnancy and have found the staff to be genuinely pleasant and considerate. They are consistently willing to assist, whether it's the midwifery team or nursing staff. I haven't yet had the opportunity to meet with the doctors.
