Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience with significant variation in service quality across different areas of the practice. Medical and nursing staff consistently receive praise for professionalism, compassion, and thorough examinations, with patients particularly appreciating attentive care and genuine concern for their wellbeing. However, this positive clinical experience is substantially undermined by persistent organisational and reception challenges that create considerable frustration.

Appointment availability emerges as the most significant concern, with patients reporting extended waiting periods ranging from several weeks to months, difficulty securing same-day consultations, and confusing booking procedures that shift between competing requirements. Phone communication presents additional barriers, with patients describing long wait times for callbacks, dropped calls, and reception staff who are frequently described as dismissive, curt, or unwilling to engage helpfully with inquiries. Some patients report difficulty reaching the practice despite multiple attempts, whilst others experience rushed or discourteous interactions when they do connect.

Administrative issues compound these access problems, including gaps in follow-up care, inconsistent record-keeping, and organisational failures such as incorrect patient registration and medication referral errors. Whilst some reception staff are individually commended for exceptional courtesy and helpfulness, the reception experience overall is characterised as inconsistent, with several patients noting that front desk personnel appear disinterested or use appointment availability as a barrier rather than a service tool. The contrast between the quality of clinical care and the accessibility challenges suggests systemic organisational difficulties that significantly impact patient confidence in the practice.

Worst customer service ever, absolutely ridiculous wait

Absolutely appalling service - if there were a rating lower than zero, I'd choose it. The wait time for even a simple phone discussion has ballooned to an unbelievable two weeks!

Terrible healthcare leaving patients desperate and neglected

These medical professionals are absolutely terrible. As a patient facing serious health challenges, I'm unable to secure a medical consultation. I registered with this practice back in June, and months later, I still haven't been able to see a doctor. I'm now forced to seek medical care elsewhere. This facility is completely unacceptable and should be shut down immediately.

Frustrating wait with unhelpful staff at clinic

I waited well beyond my designated appointment time, exceeding an hour. When I attempted to seek information about my pending consultation, the receptionist, who was preoccupied with her mobile device, dismissively gestured me away without addressing my concerns. To make matters worse, when I finally saw the nurse, she failed to conduct even the basic examinations that were the purpose of scheduling this appointment in the first place.

Frustrating healthcare journey with one caring receptionist

It seems I'm destined to suffer based on the existing reviews. My sole desire is to receive appropriate treatment and hospital admission, yet I can only consult with a doctor on Wednesdays. A 50-pound round-trip taxi fare just to seek urgent medical help is ridiculous. The sole bright spot is one of the receptionists. This surgery is incredibly fortunate to have this particular staff member. An uncut DIAMOND of pure EMPATHY - these are the employees who could genuinely enhance services. Such individuals should be in top decision-making roles, though this will never happen with truly empathetic people in critical NHS positions or medical practices. It's obvious that empathetic employees aren't what healthcare services want in leadership. It's a widely acknowledged fact across businesses, including NHS trusts, that psychopathic employees operate without guilt or remorse and are pathological liars. They have no issues denying cancer patients treatment or cutting vital services, showing complete disregard for human lives. They possess no conscience. Even most NHS consultants reportedly exhibit psychopathic tendencies. Do your research - this is how the system is deliberately constructed.

Worst customer service ever rude receptionist nightmare

The receptionist seems completely disinterested in doing her job. I attempted to contact them 13 times, and they consistently ignored my calls. When I finally got through after multiple attempts, she cut me off mid-conversation, repeatedly shouting that no appointments are available without even hearing me out. What an utterly frustrating experience!!

Frustrating medical experience with unhelpful communication

The medical staff's interpersonal communication seriously needs improvement. Inquiring about anything feels intimidating and unwelcome. The physician's phone consultation is absurdly brief, and scheduling a follow-up requires an excessively long waiting period. On a positive note, the nursing team remains exceptional - attentive and never making patients feel hurried.

Terrible healthcare service that failed my child

Completely unacceptable service. Attempting to schedule online yields zero results - no phone contact, no booking, they don't even request visual documentation of the problem (involving a young child) but claim a pharmacist will call. No proper assessment whatsoever, and predictably, the promised pharmacist never rings back! They seem oblivious to why emergency departments are perpetually overcrowded. Absolute clowns.

Terrible reception but great medical staff

During my initial visit to the clinic, I was taken aback by the receptionist's unwelcoming demeanor. As I approached the front desk to check in, she abruptly emerged with a dismissive attitude, curtly inquiring about my scan and gesturing me to a seat with an impatient wave. In stark contrast, the nurse and female doctor who conducted my scan were exceptionally kind and professional. The receptionists, however, urgently need to improve their approach, as their conduct was thoroughly unpleasant and inappropriate x

Great medical practice with caring staff

I've been a patient at this medical practice for just over two years, having previously been with Brooks Bar Medical Practice for 22 years, where the service was consistently poor. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the communication and assistance provided by the receptionists, particularly those at Victoria Mill. Even during busy periods, they make every effort to find time for patients, accommodating schedule changes for those working or facing urgent circumstances. The medical staff, including nurses and doctors, are exceptionally compassionate and attentive. They consistently strive to find appropriate solutions for medical concerns. When uncertain, they diligently review medications, process referrals, and maintain proactive communication with patients. It's important to remember that healthcare professionals are human, and various constraints can impact the level of support they can provide. Despite these challenges, I genuinely feel well-supported by this practice. Thank you! Charelle

Confusing registration process with friendly but unreliable staff

I'm quite dissatisfied with their service. The staff members are pleasant and welcoming, but there were significant issues regarding my baby's registration. Initially, they assured me my child was registered, yet during a subsequent visit for vaccination, I was informed she was not. This contradiction left me completely bewildered. Later, they sent an appointment letter with only a two-week interval between vaccinations, when the recommended minimum is four weeks apart. Had I not carefully reviewed the details and followed their suggested timeline, my baby could have faced serious health risks from receiving two vaccinations too close together. It seems like they lack proper organizational skills and attention to detail, which is absolutely unacceptable in healthcare, where precision and thoroughness are critical. I'm definitely going to register my baby with a different healthcare provider who demonstrates more competence and professionalism.

Brilliant ent doctor finally solved my health problem

Visited this clinic yesterday and encountered an exceptional ENT specialist who was both welcoming and meticulous. After struggling for months and experiencing unhelpful consultations at Wythenshaw, this doctor performed comprehensive examinations, and for the first time, I feel like I'm making genuine progress. Absolutely recommended - the staff are professional, provide excellent service, and most crucially, they truly excel at their medical expertise. It's rare to find such competence, and they are a genuine testament to the quality of the NHS and this particular medical practice.
