Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience with significant variation across service areas. Medical professionals are frequently praised for clinical competence and compassionate care, with several patients highlighting skilled physicians and supportive nursing staff. However, reception experience presents a stark contrast, with persistent complaints about appointment access difficulties, long phone wait times, and discourteous staff interactions. Many patients report struggling to book appointments despite calling at recommended times, experiencing extended waits on hold, and encountering dismissive responses when raising concerns. Prescription processing delays and poor phone communication are recurring issues, alongside reports of inadequate continuity of care due to staff rotation. While some patients describe seamless booking experiences and welcoming reception staff, others describe the appointment system as archaic and nearly impossible to navigate, particularly post-pandemic. The practice appears to be undergoing service changes including new triage systems, though implementation has created additional frustration for patients unfamiliar with online-only booking methods.
Staff professionalism varies considerably, with certain reception team members receiving individual praise for exceptional helpfulness, while others are described as unprofessional, discourteous, and lacking proper training. Patients note a disconnect between the quality of clinical care and administrative service, with some expressing concern about whether reception staff have received adequate customer service training. Long waiting times in the practice environment remain a consistent complaint, with patients reporting waits extending well beyond scheduled consultation times. Despite these challenges, the practice retains loyal patients who appreciate the medical expertise available, though several have transferred to alternative providers due to access and communication difficulties.

Compassionate doctors providing exceptional care to residents
Victoria Road surgery stands out as a top-tier medical facility. The physicians are compassionate and highly skilled professionals who deliver exceptional healthcare services to the residents of Victoria Lodge Care Home. Unlike many practices, they go above and beyond by offering late evening consultations and providing remarkable medical support outside standard hours. Sue Howard proprietor. Great!
Mixed experiences with doctors at this clinic
My sentiments about this medical practice are somewhat divided. Dr. Cameron appears genuinely committed to understanding patients, despite not being particularly warm, and he makes a concerted effort to be comprehensive when explaining medical details and procedures. In contrast, Dr. Ahmed seems disinterested and appears more focused on quickly processing patients, which can leave you feeling somewhat confused and undervalued. The reception staff are absolutely exceptional, with no room for criticism. I've observed their remarkable patience and assistance with elderly patients and families with children, and they're equally adept at helping patients navigate online booking systems and the practice's mobile application. Securing an appointment has never been a challenge, as the reception team consistently goes out of their way to accommodate patients, offering guidance on the most effective times to call and ensuring you can be seen when needed.

Bad!
Terrible doctor and surgery left me in agony
I am thoroughly dissatisfied with this medical practice. Booking an appointment often requires waiting up to a week, and Dr. Cameron is particularly problematic. After a severe wrist fracture resulting in intense pain, he diagnosed me with arthritis but provided inadequate pain management. Initially, he prescribed naproxen, which proved ineffective. When I requested stronger medication, he refused and insisted on repeating the same ineffective prescription. Seeking alternative care, I consulted Dr. Faud Ahmed, who immediately prescribed co-codamol, which significantly improved my pain relief, though not completely. During a subsequent appointment with Dr. Cameron, he again denied me medication and refused to refer me to an orthopedic specialist. He wouldn't even examine my wrist, leaving me in excruciating pain. Desperate for relief, I visited A+E due to unbearable discomfort. I was unable to obtain medication for a week, causing severe sleep disruption. Dr. Cameron's dismissive attitude, suggesting I manage pain independently, struck me as highly unprofessional. I suspect he wrongly believes I have a codeine addiction, despite only taking the prescribed dosage and never requesting early refills. I've filed a complaint against Dr. Cameron and contacted my MP after he blocked my repeat prescriptions. Dr. Ahmed confirmed Cameron's authority in these decisions, forcing me to seek care at a more distant medical practice. This surgery desperately needs new management, and Dr. Cameron should absolutely not continue practicing. PATIENTS BEWARE!

Terrible medical care endangers diabetic patient's health
Absolutely appalling medical care from these so-called professionals!!! They've completely failed to handle a type 1 diabetes prescription, taking over seven days to process it, which is utterly unacceptable. The physician demonstrates complete incompetence and a total lack of understanding. I am absolutely committed to filing a formal complaint and pursuing legal recourse, as their treatment is clearly discriminatory and totally unacceptable!!!

Great!
Compassionate doctor with thorough and attentive care
I've consulted with Dr. Awan on two occasions, and he appears to be an excellent healthcare professional. He thoroughly addressed all my questions and provided comprehensive explanations. I'm extremely satisfied with the medical care I've received from him thus far.

Frustrating experience with dismissive medical professionals
The medical practice seems competent, but frequent visits might lead them to label you as anxious or a hypochondriac, potentially dismissing genuine health concerns with only routine examinations. During my consultation, the physician attributed my symptoms to anxiety. Many patients face misdiagnosis, and I'm determined to avoid becoming another overlooked case or medical statistic.

Awesome doctor terrible staff wait times nightmare
Dr Cameron is an excellent physician, and while I can't speak to the other doctors, his reception staff desperately need training in patient management or must improve their scheduling to prevent patients from waiting an entire hour! This is especially challenging for those with a young child in sweltering conditions without air conditioning! Moreover, what's the purpose of a notice board requesting patients inform staff about waits exceeding 30 minutes when the front desk's response is dismissive and unhelpful? Their attitude of "what do you want us to do?" and suggesting the patient tell the doctor directly is incredibly frustrating. They seem oblivious to the fact that patients are upset about the situation, not targeting the staff personally. Instead of showing empathy, they become defensive, making patients feel guilty for even raising a concern. This approach only escalates tension and creates a negative experience for those seeking medical care.
