Patient Experience Summary

Feedback across the file reveals persistent challenges with appointment access and booking experience. Patients report significant difficulty reaching the practice by phone, with extended waiting times and frequently busy lines preventing contact. Once connected, many encounter limited appointment availability, with some describing waits of months or being offered only inconvenient time slots. Reception experience emerges as a major concern, with multiple reports of discourteous and dismissive staff behaviour, though some patients note courteous interactions. Communication issues are widespread, including contradictory guidance, unresponsive callbacks, and poor coordination between departments affecting prescription handling and specialist referrals.

Waiting experience for appointments is problematic, with patients reporting long delays both before and after scheduled times. Several reviews highlight concerns about responsiveness to patient needs and organisational inefficiency affecting care continuity. However, a minority of patients report positive experiences with accessible facilities, supportive medical professionals, and competent doctors and nurses who provide attentive care. The practice environment is generally described as adequate, though some long-standing patients note a decline in service quality compared to previous locations or management.

The overall pattern suggests systemic operational challenges centred on appointment availability, phone access, and reception experience, alongside variable quality in clinical care and communication. While some staff demonstrate professionalism and compassion, these strengths are overshadowed by widespread frustration with booking systems and accessibility for working patients and those with urgent needs.

Terrible service and uncaring doctors at clinic

I've been avoiding medical visits for a long time, only seeking help when absolutely necessary. When I called to schedule an appointment due to my discomfort, surprisingly, no doctor bothered to return my call or address my concerns. Frustrated, I ended up going to the emergency room instead. I miss the days of doctors like Dr. John, who would thoroughly prepare before seeing a patient. In contrast, these current physicians seem disinterested, failing to review my medical history and appearing indifferent to the reason for my visit.

Terrible service and impossible to book appointment

I'm not planning to give any rating at all. Whenever I try calling to schedule an appointment, the line is constantly busy. Do you just leave the phone off the hook until you're less swamped? Then you inform us later that you're completely booked up - and this has occurred multiple times now.

Frustrating phone system makes booking appointments impossible

Received a call from my physician requesting an appointment, but when I attempted to call back, I was unable to schedule a visit. The process of booking an appointment is incredibly frustrating, as the phone line remains constantly busy during the brief two-hour window for morning calls. I am actively seeking to change medical practices as soon as possible.

Worst medical experience ever terrible customer service

Completely align with the previous feedback and would have rated zero stars if possible... Utterly appalled by the incredibly disrespectful behavior of the front desk staff and their complete unwillingness to assist a patient in critical condition. Steer clear of this practice and seek out ANY OTHER medical facility for your loved ones. Deeply distressed and heartbroken by today's encounter, a total disgrace to healthcare standards. I suggest exploring Dr Wilkes as an alternative, located in the same premises but with a dramatically superior approach - immediately compassionate and supportive, in stark contrast to the hostile and indifferent receptionist who callously ignored my partner's needs, ultimately causing her to break down in tears...

Terrible doctor treated me like dirt

1 star absolute waste of my time. You can't even negotiate with the doctor about pain medication. I'm taking myself and my daughter to another surgical facility where we'll be treated with dignity, not like dirt beneath their shoes. I'm utterly disgusted with Dr. Williams, and to make matters worse, he labeled me a drug seeker last week. They can't lecture me about drugs when I've been in recovery from alcohol for 9 years. I've contacted the evening post about Dr. Williams and his comments. What they fail to understand is that I have a six-year-old daughter with special needs who requires my full attention. I can't be incapacitated by subpar medications. I genuinely have a serious back condition resulting from difficult childbirth and additional physical trauma. The doctors called today about an appointment with a different physician tomorrow. I'll be bringing all my documentation about my daughter and a formal complaint letter to management regarding Dr. Williams. I'm seeking a sincere apology, or I'll escalate this matter further.

Frustrating healthcare experience at local medical practice

I concur with the previous commenters. Getting an appointment with a physician here is incredibly challenging. Their operational system is fundamentally broken. The practice was more efficient when they were located in Briton Ferry. The check-in terminal functions inconsistently, and even after successfully checking in, patients frequently wait well beyond their scheduled appointment time.
