Patient Experience Summary

Feedback on this practice reflects a deeply mixed experience, with stark contrasts between clinical and administrative performance. When patients access care, medical staff consistently receive praise for clinical expertise, compassion, and responsiveness to urgent needs. However, significant frustration centres on appointment access and booking systems, with patients reporting lengthy phone queues, ineffective online platforms, and communication failures that create substantial barriers to care. Reception experience varies considerably, with some describing helpful and professional interactions while others report dismissive attitudes and lack of courtesy.

Appointment availability emerges as the most persistent concern across reviews, with patients describing impossible scheduling processes, extended waiting times, and redirects to alternative services. The practice's administrative systems—including triage procedures, callback arrangements, and booking mechanisms—generate repeated complaints about inefficiency and poor organisation. Several patients note that despite appreciating the quality of clinical care once accessed, the administrative obstacles are so significant they have switched providers or actively avoid using the service.

Positive feedback highlights staff warmth, professional medical care, and efficient test processing when systems function smoothly. Longer-term patients often report satisfaction with continuity and clinical outcomes. The contrast between clinical quality and administrative dysfunction suggests systemic issues in practice management rather than individual staff capability, with particular concern around appointment access creating barriers that may delay necessary medical care.

Dangerous practice discriminates against vulnerable patients

This general practice is promoting a discriminatory and exclusionary approach that breaches legal standards. Their appointment scheduling involves an automated system that demands a text response within a narrow timeframe just to potentially access triage, which is fundamentally flawed and potentially hazardous. The receptionist I encountered displayed an incredibly dismissive and unhelpful demeanor, essentially brushing me off with a vague promise of a future callback. I absolutely reject their high-risk procedural approach. While I am completely willing to discuss my medical concerns, their rigid requirement of responding to a text within 15 minutes is critically unsafe and demonstrates a profound lack of understanding of their patient population's diverse needs. I am committed to filing a formal complaint and will escalate to the Care Quality Commission if necessary. Regrettably, there are no alternative medical practices in my vicinity where I can register.

Terrible service drains patient's mental health and time

I tried scheduling an appointment, and the process was incredibly frustrating. After waiting 10-20 minutes, I received a text. I requested a callback after 4 pm due to work, but they called at 1 pm, which I missed. When I immediately returned the call, they promised to call back at 4 pm. By 5:30 pm, I was still waiting. Another 20-minute hold ensued, during which they falsely claimed they'd already spoken to me at 4 pm. They promised another callback within the hour, leaving me anxiously waiting by the phone for 2-3 hours, too scared to eat, use the bathroom, or leave for fear of missing their call. Ironically, one of my reasons for contacting them was mental health, and this experience significantly worsened my anxiety. Update: They never called back, despite promising to do so three times! When I contacted them again, they said they'd call the next day at 1 pm, but still haven't. I've been waiting 27 hours just to make a simple appointment! The GPs themselves are wonderful, but the administrative system is completely dysfunctional. Pre-COVID, you could book an in-person appointment at a specific time. Now? They'll call you sometime between 12 and 4 pm. How is anyone supposed to plan their day around that? This is hands-down the worst GP service I've encountered across multiple cities and countries. Their approach is borderline criminally negligent, and I wouldn't be surprised if people have genuinely suffered or died due to inability to access medical care. It's absolutely disgraceful, and their incompetence goes beyond mere inefficiency—it's fundamentally immoral.

Exceptional healthcare at wells park medical centre

I joined Wells Park approximately four weeks back and have been thoroughly impressed. I've had the opportunity to meet a nurse face-to-face and engage in a telephone consultation with a physician, and both interactions were remarkably pleasant. They demonstrated exceptional kindness, provided comprehensive assistance, and were significantly more detailed in their approach compared to other nearby medical practices I've recently encountered. Absolutely delighted!!

Unprofessional management ruined my healthcare experience

I was compelled to leave the medical practice due to the actions of Antonia Makinde, the practice manager, and Tony Adejoke. This occurred solely because I raised concerns about Tony, who is not even my physician but the practice owner, yet behaves as if he can speak to patients condescendingly. The overall service quality has deteriorated significantly, and the situation is deeply unsatisfactory.

Terrible service that wastes patients time

Only medical center that rushes you to book an appointment and then leaves you waiting endlessly, as if your time means nothing. Emergency appointments are supposedly urgent, yet the stressed trainee nurse must handle frustrated patients. Even more irritating is watching them reject patients who arrive mere minutes late. This is their standard operating procedure. If you have any alternative for medical care, absolutely go elsewhere. I'm serious. The staff shortage of quality nurses and doctors makes this place completely unacceptable. The handful of excellent nurses here are genuinely compassionate. They communicate and engage with patients even during prolonged waiting periods. Recently, I visited the urgent care clinic after hours and received a prescription for my GP to process. I delivered the script last week, was told it would be ready in two days. When I arrived to collect the prescription, I endured nearly 10 minutes at reception, only to be briefly seen by a doctor searching for someone else, who nonetheless signed my prescription in about 30 seconds. Some might want to believe this practice is adequate, but I've been a patient here for over 14 years. These observations come from direct experience. I consider myself extremely tolerant, but this facility has never, ever improved!

Fantastic local surgery with caring medical team

I've been a patient at this medical practice for over six years, and my experience has been excellent. Despite the numerous critical reviews, I must respectfully differ. The medical professionals here are truly wonderful. While some administrative staff could improve their interpersonal skills, I've found they respond better when approached with friendliness. I recognize they frequently encounter challenging patients, which must be incredibly stressful and unwarranted. Throughout my time here, I've consistently received the referrals I required, and during my pregnancy, the care was exceptional. When my baby needed urgent medical attention, appointments were always available, as pediatric cases are prioritized appropriately. I wholeheartedly endorse this surgery and sincerely wish them continued success.

Grateful for nhs but frustrated with local practice

I deeply believe in the National Health Service and owe my life to its care, feeling grateful every single day. However, the management of this particular medical practice is significantly lacking, with appointment scheduling being an incredibly challenging process. It's evident they are struggling with insufficient staff and limited resources.

Terrible healthcare service with endless bureaucratic hurdles

Absolutely terrible ordeal. Despite having private health coverage, I'm still required to navigate through primary care. I desperately pleaded for a referral, which was initially denied. After persistent follow-up calls emphasizing my urgent need, they finally granted a referral to a hospital of their selecting, but with an appointment scheduled two months out. Their entire process is completely laughable and ineffective.

Terrible service and impossible to get an appointment

Without a doubt, this appears to be the most subpar medical practice in the vicinity. Despite it being September 2022, they continue to avoid scheduling appointments, persistently using Covid as a convenient justification. Obtaining a consultation with any physician is incredibly challenging, and their standard approach seems to be redirecting patients to hospital settings simply to evade seeing them directly. It's worth noting that in the past, when they were actually operational, their staff maintained a notably welcoming demeanor.

Terrible medical practice with zero patient care

A practice that is undermining the reputation of the NHS and should not continue I required a medical document for legal purposes, but it was riddled with incorrect information. The practice manager initially refused to review it and only partially addressed my concerns after significant frustration. When they finally reviewed the document, it was done with complete disregard for tribunal deadlines and patient needs. The doctors do not personally write notes or reports; instead, administrators handle the work and deliberately manipulate information to protect their interests, completely ignoring patient requirements. Patient confidentiality appears to be non-existent. Moreover, there is no genuine willingness to thoroughly examine past medical records, as they consider it too much effort. They prioritize their own interests, with absolutely no concern for patient care. Insensitive medical staff, though I rarely needed more than two calls to address an issue. What is the purpose of this practice???? The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman might provide assistance for those who cannot change surgeries and have no alternative options.
