What a stark difference compared to Friary House Surgery. That practice deserves a comprehensive inquiry into their practices. Their persistent manipulation and tendency to redirect patients to emergency services could potentially be fatal. In contrast, West Hoe Surgery has been a remarkable discovery. After experiencing a significant health event, I was determined to find a genuine medical practice, and this surgery has been incredibly refreshing. Phone communication is straightforward, the reception staff are friendly and welcoming, and the clinicians demonstrate a level of professionalism and thoroughness that is truly reassuring. I am immensely relieved to have escaped the chaos of Friary House.

Rude receptionist ruined my 30-year patient record

I've been a loyal patient for three decades without any issues until recently. The reception staff have become increasingly problematic during my last few visits. When I spoke with a staff member named Maisey, she was dismissive and rude, actually laughing at me over the phone. She then proceeded to mislead me and accused me of lying when I requested to speak with another staff member. When another employee named Cameron answered the phone, I attempted to explain the situation and file a complaint about Maisey's behavior. However, Cameron also accused me of fabricating the story and defended Maisey. While the doctors themselves remain excellent, the administrative staff are incredibly unprofessional, displaying horrible customer service skills. These last two visits have been a complete disappointment, which is shocking given my 30-year history with this surgery. The behavior I've experienced is disgraceful, and the practice should be embarrassed by how Maisey represents them at the front desk.

Caring help after long new zealand flight

After returning from New Zealand over the weekend, my wife contracted a severe respiratory illness. Upon reaching West Hoe Surgery, we were greeted by an incredibly helpful receptionist who demonstrated remarkable kindness and went above and beyond to secure us a same-day appointment, despite our lack of registration with the practice. The physician delivered outstanding care and guidance. He was reassuring and promptly prescribed the necessary medication to address her condition. Outdated view of mental health and substance use. GPs do not understand that substances are used as the solution to self medicate mental illness. Not aware of NICE guidelines. Do not look at the person as a whole of examine their history or patterns.

Frustrating receptionist blocks post-surgery care

I underwent a craniectomy at Derriford hospital and was prescribed antibiotics for a bone infection. Following the removal of my staples, the neurosurgeon recommended regular blood tests and consultation with my GP. When I immediately contacted the medical practice to schedule an appointment, the receptionist declined to book it unless I submitted a written request. Is it now standard procedure for a receptionist to determine the necessity of an appointment and subsequently deny booking? I believe medical staff, especially receptionists, should demonstrate compassion towards patients, particularly those recovering from significant surgical procedures. Despite making three separate phone calls, I was unable to secure an appointment. This represents a deeply unsatisfactory approach to patient care following a major surgical intervention!
