Amazing medical centre with caring and efficient staff

I've been receiving care at Westbourne Medical Centre for an extended period and have consistently had a positive experience (with only minor communication hiccups that were easily resolved)! A recent registration and prescription renewal matter arose, which was through no fault of the practice. The receptionist I interacted with demonstrated remarkable empathy and understanding. Despite the inherent complexities of their job, they provided exceptional patient support and explained the situation with remarkable politeness and composure. I was genuinely impressed by the administrative team's rapid response to my inquiry. In fact, they had proactively attempted to contact me even before I reached out. The overall service has been truly outstanding. I am immensely grateful to the team for addressing my concern so efficiently during what is undoubtedly a hectic time of year.

Case in point: I experienced a high fever of 39.5°C with severe throat pain, and they informed me a GP consultation would occur two days later. Consequently, I sought emergency department care, where the physician was alarmed by my tonsil condition and immediately prescribed an intensive antibiotic regimen.

On December 13th, 2023, I received a text message notifying me that my laboratory test results for blood and urine were ready, and I was advised to contact them to schedule a consultation. I promptly called shortly after 2:00 PM, where the receptionist presented me with two options: a quicker telephone consultation or a later in-person appointment. I opted for the telephone consultation, only to be informed that my general practitioner could see me on January 11th - an entire month from now!

Negligent care nearly cost my son his health

Appalling service! My son has been battling an infection for months, and all they did was dismiss it as "viral"! Eventually, he developed a severe infection with pus discharge, forcing me to rush him to the Emergency Hospital. The doctor finally saw him after a grueling 5-hour wait and stated he should have been prescribed oral antibiotics. He remains unwell, and they continue to parrot "it's viral, just carry on." These incompetent individuals are oblivious to the fact that prolonged, untreated infections can potentially lead to critical complications like brain damage or sepsis. I'm bewildered why they're even employed by the NHS? Why are they consuming our tax money when they're incapable of providing adequate patient care? Dentists have already abandoned the system, transitioning to private practice because they couldn't justify delivering quality care under NHS constraints. It's straightforward - if you can't properly care for patients, return the funding and go private. How do they sleep peacefully at night? What a demoralizing, unfulfilling profession. They urgently need to reconnect with their original medical calling and start genuinely caring for patients. I've fortunately secured private medical insurance due to my frustration with this system. Yet, I'll still be compelled to pay taxes for this unsatisfactory service. The healthcare system has become a complete mockery. Post-COVID, doctors seem reluctant to conduct face-to-face consultations, apparently preferring an easier lifestyle. Absolutely devastated.

Terrible healthcare experience with unhelpful dr foster

I'm utterly dismayed by the substandard medical care, particularly from Dr. Foster. My initial visit felt like being processed on an assembly line, with zero effective assistance. I can get a hearing test at Boots for a reasonable cost, so why am I paying NHS fees for such inadequate service? I requested an ankle X-ray referral, but was flatly denied NHS coverage. Hearing issues: rejected. Ankle problem: dismissed. For my chronic fatigue, she ordered a blood test, which she deemed "fantastic" despite providing zero follow-up results. The lingering hand pain and week-long black bruise on my arm were completely ignored. Initially, I gave up. However, I later attempted another consultation regarding sleep apnea, which my partner confirmed. I experience frequent breathlessness during sleep, disrupting my rest and causing daytime exhaustion. I sought a sleep clinic referral, but Dr. Foster merely sent a website link for self-assessment, effectively leading nowhere. After completing their questionnaire, I was informed I didn't qualify for the NHS sleep clinic and was instructed to undergo additional blood tests for alternative evaluation - as if she were the specialist determining my care pathway. I can't help wondering if my Polish nationality and sexual orientation are influencing this treatment.

Unbelievable incompetence from management! The phone lines are perpetually jammed, and everything moves at a snail's pace. I've been attempting to obtain a medical certificate and am still waiting after seven days. Is there any chance of receiving a return call? Absolutely not. Can you actually connect with someone? Not a chance. Email responses? Potentially, but only after an excruciatingly long delay.
