Exceptional care and personal touch from surgery team

I'm utterly baffled by anyone who wouldn't rate this medical practice at the absolute highest level. This morning, I connected with Amy, and while I was hesitant to trouble Dr Williams directly, Amy meticulously followed procedure and promised to return my call while I waited for a message response. True to her word, she called back and informed me that Dr Williams would contact me personally. In less than thirty minutes, the exceptional doctor herself rang me and promptly sent a prescription to Paydens. I subsequently called the pharmacy, and you can also find my positive feedback on Google. This practice consistently exceeds expectations. Without. Fail. Every. Single. Team member. Heartfelt thanks to Amy. Heartfelt thanks to Dr Williams. Now I'm heading back to bed with my medications for some rest and to start my antibiotic treatment. You are truly exceptional. X

Terrible medical care and communication nightmare

Patient-doctor communication has become virtually non-existent these days. Despite having a highly complex set of eye conditions, I'm still waiting for a response to a fit note request made 8 days ago. I was compelled to file a complaint against Dr Walton after uncovering fabrications in my medical history. While their nurse was pleasant and competent, I would advise anyone with serious health concerns to seek care elsewhere if possible. Dr Leire is equally disappointing. These supposed healthcare professionals are meant to simplify life for patients with health challenges, yet Dr Leire is making life-altering decisions without ever having spoken to or examined me - it's absolutely unacceptable. UPDATE: My glaucoma clinician has officially registered me as Severely Sight Impaired (Blind), which means I no longer must tolerate an incompetent physician rejecting my fit note requests. The fact that he consistently denied requests from someone rapidly losing their vision speaks volumes about his professional competence!!!

Absolutely terrible encounter. I was unable to secure a medical appointment for an entire week. The entire facility seemed deserted. The front desk staff appeared completely disengaged, merely socializing and lounging around. Utterly unacceptable!!!

Dangerous healthcare with zero communication or care

I strongly advise steering clear of this surgical practice. Their approach is utterly unprofessional and demonstrates a complete lack of compassion. A nurse initially informed me about additional medication needs, but the doctor declined authorization without extended blood pressure monitoring. Surprisingly, the medication appeared at Boots, yet I'm still weeks away from receiving a heart monitor. Despite sending six emails, making numerous calls, and even visiting the reception in person, they've consistently ignored my requests for an explanation. Moreover, they abruptly discontinued my Nitroglycerin without any warning and steadfastly refuse to explain why, leaving me experiencing daily pain that the medication previously alleviated. I cannot emphasize enough how much I discourage anyone from seeking treatment here. Dr Leire has even been reckless with medication prescriptions this year, and were it not for Boots Pharmacy, I would have remained completely unaware of potential issues.

Frustrated patient struggling with chronic back pain

I reached out today about my ongoing lower back pain and sciatica, which has been troubling me for the past twelve months, yet I'm continually being dismissed with pain medication. When I advocated for an MRI or another specialist referral, I was informed that I must wait until the new year for a GP appointment that could potentially initiate a referral. While infuriating, this response is unfortunately typical. My mobility is so severely restricted that I'm now considering visiting the emergency department or an Urgent Treatment Centre just to get some proper attention.

I cannot find a single criticism for this medical practice. Throughout my entire experience, I've never encountered any problems. The staff are exceptional, and I've had seamless access to my controlled medication prescriptions. Their online services are outstanding, and phone wait times have always been minimal. As a patient, I've consistently felt heard and understood, knowing that if any issues arose, I could confidently approach them for support. In my opinion, this is a top-tier healthcare provider deserving a perfect rating. I'm genuinely disappointed to be leaving due to my relocation. Terrible service and dismissive staff at local gp

Prior to the pandemic, my local general practice was excellent, but now every consultation is conducted over the phone with no in-person appointments available. The new reception staff are discourteous, curt, and unhelpful, consistently redirecting patients to pharmacies, the NHS 111 service, or alternative healthcare facilities. In my opinion, they are unfairly burdening other segments of the National Health Service, and I am thoroughly dismayed by the quality of care that Wesgate residents are experiencing.

Frustrating service with occasional helpful moments

I attempted to contact the surgery eight times today, and each call was abruptly terminated. With a 10-week-old infant at home and concerns about a circulating virus, I found their communication extremely frustrating. Their inaccessibility raises serious questions about the practice's professionalism. Ultimately, I resorted to health care assistance for support. During my sole consultation with a doctor, she surprisingly suggested deferring to health care assistance's advice over her own regarding infant and breastfeeding matters. I've been visiting this surgery multiple times, and it seems nurses predominantly handle patient interactions. Fortunately, the nursing staff remains cordial and approachable. Despite being a patient for nearly five years, I believe significant improvements are necessary. Every email I send requires persistent follow-up for a response. Particularly concerning were two prescription requests where, despite informing them of chemist submission, they failed to provide a simple acknowledgment. Regarding my request for a medical travel note, I was essentially dismissed due to my pregnancy, with the surgery demonstrating minimal effort towards pregnant patients. The only scenario where I'd describe their service as satisfactory is when I need a vaccination.

Disappointing service since covid hit healthcare system

Initially, the medical practice seemed satisfactory, and I had no issues with my physician. However, since the pandemic, I've become increasingly frustrated with their constant phone calls and subpar service. As a healthcare worker who was on the frontlines alongside hospitals and essential businesses, I believe medical practices should have been equally accessible. The telephone-based system is ineffective and is driving patients to emergency rooms unnecessarily due to the lack of available appointments and care. I'm perplexed by how doctors claim to be overwhelmed when patients can't even secure a consultation. I've missed three callback attempts, and when I tried to reschedule, they were unable to accommodate me. Today, I was placed on the emergency contact list, yet no one reached out. Needless to say, I am thoroughly disappointed and disgusted with their customer service. The current situation is causing significant suffering for numerous patients.

Exceptional surgery with compassionate and responsive staff

My husband and I have nothing but praise for this medical practice. When requesting a callback, our wait times have ranged from as short as 30 minutes to a maximum of 2 hours. Throughout these uncertain times, we've consistently found the staff to be incredibly accessible and compassionate. The nurses, particularly Darcie and Julie, are truly exceptional and represent the practice wonderfully. Additionally, Dr. Walton - and some might disagree - has been absolutely outstanding in his care for us both.
