Patient Experience Summary

Feedback on this practice reveals a markedly divided patient experience. Appointment access emerges as a significant concern, with many patients reporting difficulty reaching the practice by telephone and finding slots unavailable despite calling at designated times. Reception experience varies considerably, with some patients describing staff as courteous and helpful, while others characterise interactions as unwelcoming, dismissive, and disengaged. Communication gaps are evident across multiple areas, including delayed responses to enquiries, insufficient information about prescriptions, and lack of clarity regarding referral processes. Medication supply issues recur throughout feedback, with patients reporting recurring problems obtaining correct quantities of prescribed medicines.

Clinical care experiences are similarly mixed. Some patients report efficient, responsive service with good continuity of care and professional nursing teams. Others describe rushed consultations, dismissive approaches to concerns, and inadequate clinical assessment. Several patients note that concerns were not properly addressed during appointments, leading to complications requiring alternative care. A small number of long-term patients express consistent satisfaction with care quality and staff courtesy over many years, suggesting service quality may vary by clinician or have changed over time.

The practice demonstrates capability in specific areas such as responsive callback systems and efficient prescription delivery when functioning well. However, systemic challenges around appointment availability, telephone access, and consistency in reception experience appear to undermine confidence in the service for a substantial proportion of patients. The overall tone reflects frustration with access barriers and inconsistency rather than uniformly poor care.

Smaller surgery with personal touch and easy booking

I have been a patient at this practice for over two decades and have consistently been satisfied with the care provided. The smaller size of the surgery is something I appreciate, as it contributes to a more tailored approach to patient care. I have found it straightforward to secure appointments when calling early in the morning, and booking routine or follow-up appointments through the online system has been convenient.

Phone callback sorted urgent concern quickly

I think most of the staff members are nice there. Two of them sadly I don't know their names, both with blonde hair, one is slimmer, and both handle the phone duties. I needed urgent guidance regarding a health concern in a sensitive area. Fair enough that there were no immediate appointments available, however they did arrange a callback for me and I was satisfied with the result. The clinician I spoke to prescribed antibiotics and advised me to return if the situation deteriorated before that point.

Struggling to get through on the phone line

I woke early at 7.45am to call at 8 and continued attempting to reach the practice. The line was consistently busy with no answer. I'm not sure what happened to the previous queue system, as I found that preferable to repeatedly redialling. After spending 20 minutes trying to get through without success, I felt frustrated by the lack of progress. I'm concerned that when I do eventually connect, I'll be told all available slots are booked, possibly by patients with minor ailments.

Booking appointments only available at eight am

Attempting to schedule an appointment with the practice requires calling precisely at 8 in the morning, which seems quite restrictive.

Reception staff wouldn't book me with preferred doctor

I would advise caution when booking an appointment at this clinic. There is a female doctor working here whose name starts with R. In my experience, I found her manner to be dismissive and felt that her treatment of patients varied depending on their gender. I believe all doctors should treat their patients equally regardless of whether they are male or female. While I understand that some people have preferences about the gender of their doctor, I felt frustrated when I was told that this particular doctor could not see me due to religious reasons, and I was advised to wait for another doctor who has limited availability. This resulted in a delay to my care when I was in significant discomfort. I would recommend considering alternative options for your healthcare needs.

Wouldn't help with mental health concerns

As someone dealing with long-term mental health concerns, I found that the practice was unable to provide the level of support I was seeking. I would recommend considering other options if you have similar needs.

Receptionists unhelpful and dismissive throughout visit

The clinical staff at this practice came across as quite dismissive, and the reception team seemed unwelcoming and unhelpful. I have experienced instances where my concerns were not properly addressed, which led to complications requiring hospital care. Additionally, I was charged for written correspondence without being informed of the fee beforehand. I would recommend considering alternative healthcare providers.

Prescriptions always arrive on time here

My family and I have consistently had positive experiences at this practice. While they operate within NHS limitations, I have always received my medications promptly. The clinical and administrative team members are consistently courteous and professional, and I feel that the care provided is genuinely focused on what is best for patients. I appreciate all the attentive service received.

Reception staff were dismissive when booking appointment

The service experience was disappointing overall. The front desk team seemed disengaged and their manner felt unwelcoming. When I called to arrange an appointment, there was an unhelpful response regarding a name query, which came across as dismissive. The reception staff frequently ask intrusive questions about the reason for visits, which feels unnecessary. The professionalism was lacking, with staff appearing to chat and laugh in ways that were audible to patients. During my consultation, I felt the approach focused on medication rather than exploring underlying causes for my concerns. The clinical care did not meet my expectations compared to other providers in the area.

Prescription handling let me down repeatedly

There are serious concerns with this practice. I feel the clinic nearly caused me significant harm. I was told my prescription had been sent to the pharmacy, but it was not. I have been without my medication for several days. I experience recurring issues with my medication supply every month. On each occasion, I have had to contact emergency services and arrange my medicines myself. This situation is unsustainable. I have an upcoming procedure scheduled and when asked about my medication management, I had to explain that I face ongoing difficulties because I regularly receive insufficient quantities of my prescribed medication due to prescription processing failures. I am very dissatisfied with this clinic's service.
