Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a markedly mixed experience across the practice, with significant variation in service quality depending on individual interactions. Appointment access and booking procedures emerge as a consistent source of frustration, with patients reporting challenges securing consultations through the morning call-back system, lengthy waits for callbacks, and instances where availability appears limited or fully booked. Reception experience is similarly polarised, with some patients praising courteous and supportive staff, whilst others describe dismissive, discourteous, or unhelpful interactions that have occasionally escalated to abrupt call terminations.

Clinical care and nursing support receive more positive recognition overall, with patients frequently highlighting compassionate doctors and nursing staff who demonstrate genuine care and responsiveness. The practice's triage system has been noted as improving service efficiency in some cases. However, concerns about administrative errors persist, including prescription oversights, unprocessed referral forms, and inaccurate medical record documentation that have resulted in delayed care or patient inconvenience.

Communication and responsiveness present ongoing challenges, particularly regarding electronic consultation systems, text messaging limitations, and delayed follow-up calls. While some patients report satisfactory experiences with prompt medical attention and supportive care, others describe prolonged waits for callbacks, missed calls outside stated hours, and difficulties obtaining timely responses to medical concerns. The practice appears to function effectively for some patients whilst presenting significant barriers to access and continuity for others.

Bad!

Terrible healthcare experience with unacceptable customer service

Complete chaos here. I've been waiting all day for a callback regarding my daughter's situation, and I missed their call by mere moments. Now, a discourteous receptionist suggests I might not even receive a return call. I'm utterly bewildered by their approach. We only seek medical attention when absolutely necessary, and this involves a child experiencing critically high heart rate and dangerously low oxygen levels. The level of unprofessionalism is appalling.

Incompetent doctor nearly missed serious respiratory issue

I secured a telephone consultation on Friday after enduring severe hay fever for a week and experiencing breathing difficulties for three days. A female physician returned my call. It seemed she barely examined my medical background and quickly assumed it was merely an allergic reaction, showing little interest in a proper examination. I had to insist on a face-to-face appointment. Upon arrival, I was apparently too early. During the consultation, she remained disinterested in my medical history. As a medical professional myself, I mentioned the salbutamol inhaler that had previously helped me. The moment I referenced the inhaler, she became adamant about not prescribing it, claiming primary care restrictions. She suggested A&E as the only option for an inhaler and described my wheezing as upper respiratory. Doubting myself, I returned home still struggling to breathe. By evening, my condition worsened. After calling 111, paramedics arrived and confirmed widespread chest wheezing, administering a nebulizer. The out-of-hours doctor was concerned about potential pulmonary embolism and recommended A&E. Morning tests revealed widespread chest wheezing. I underwent blood tests, X-rays, and an ECG. Ultimately, I was prescribed steroids and an inhaler. My blood work confirmed a severe allergic reaction, likely hay fever. Essentially, this was an unnecessary ordeal caused by a doctor's refusal to listen to her patient. How could a GP miss such obvious wheezing during examination? She wanted me to manage symptoms that were significantly impacting my daily life, including caring for my two-year-old. I desperately wish I could identify her name to formally document this experience.

Bad!

Horrible healthcare nightmare with incompetent staff

Utterly abysmal. It's become impossible to secure an appointment or connect with any staff member via telephone recently, and on the rare occasion you manage to reach reception, they are hostile, discourteous, and completely incompetent. Consequently, my persistent health concerns are being shamefully overlooked. "Reprehensible". Moreover, they consistently fabricate information and have repeatedly let my family down.

Terrible customer service at medical reception desk

Incompetent and condescending describes the receptionist handling appointment scheduling, who demonstrates a complete lack of comprehension when patients attempt to communicate. They consistently rush through interactions without genuinely listening or paying attention. Their unprofessional behavior is so frustrating that I would gladly assign zero stars if possible.

Terrible mental health support despite good gps

Excellent navigation device, but the mental health support has been a nightmare. The person responsible for follow-up calls regarding appointment scheduling comes across as incredibly insensitive and lacks any semblance of empathy. Their unprofessional approach borders on callousness, and I've never experienced such distressing psychological strain before. Their dismissive attitude could potentially lead to dire consequences, and I'm genuinely concerned about the potential harm they might cause.

Frustrating healthcare experience with multiple patient mishaps

Scheduling a doctor's appointment is challenging, requiring a morning call-back system even for routine visits, with patients needing to justify their medical needs to nurses. Some GPs prefer phone consultations and medication prescriptions. Sue, a nurse, stands out as caring and helpful. Visiting doctors seem more engaged, but many GPs appear overwhelmed and reluctant to make referrals. My pregnancy experience was particularly frustrating - my first trimester referral took 13 weeks, causing me to miss the crucial 12-week scan despite weekly follow-ups. Shockingly, reception staff discovered a pile of unprocessed pregnancy forms that had been sitting untouched for weeks. They provided outdated information, sending me to a non-existent clinic. Another significant error occurred when my son needed an urgent blood test: he was incorrectly classified as an adult, resulting in him being directed to the wrong hospital and ward, where no staff were qualified to draw his blood. Repeatedly, we've requested updates to his medical records to highlight his penicillin allergy, yet this remains unaddressed across multiple hospital appointments. The reception staff seem consistently inefficient, with most administrative errors originating from their desk.

Frustrating healthcare experience with impossible appointment system

Scheduling a doctor's visit here is incredibly frustrating. You're forced to phone precisely at 8:30 AM and then wait anxiously for them to return your call, even for standard, non-urgent consultations. Once you finally get through, you must defend your reasons for wanting a medical appointment and essentially argue with the nursing staff to justify your need. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint about this ridiculous process.

Compassionate care at my local medical practice

It's unfortunate that individuals typically share feedback about NHS services only when frustrated. While the White House surgery isn't without flaws (what healthcare provider is?), I've consistently experienced it as an efficiently managed, welcoming, and attentive medical practice.
