Following a diagnosis, I found it difficult to obtain copies of medical documentation, receiving only incomplete or duplicate pages instead. No guidance or support was provided regarding self-management or next steps. The response to my situation was essentially that nothing further would be done. After seeking a second opinion elsewhere, I was advised to consider changing practices. This practice appears to have lost sight of the fundamental principles of patient care. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your healthcare needs.

This practice fell short of expectations regarding phone interactions and empathy. When I called, the manner was unhelpful and I was informed of a specific date that didn't work for our circumstances. We were told we didn't meet the criteria for walk-in appointments, which was frustrating. As a result, our family has decided to seek care elsewhere.

Same-day appointments when you really need them
Have had reason to contact the practice on two occasions in the last three weeks seeking emergency appointments. On the first occasion, I received a same-day consultation where I was promptly referred to hospital with a suspected acute condition. I subsequently underwent surgery that weekend. More recently, I requested an appointment for a persistent cough and sore throat. I was offered a same-day appointment where, following examination, I was prescribed a course of antibiotics. I want to put on record that the service I received on both occasions was nothing short of first class in all aspects, for which I am most grateful. I have no hesitation in recommending the practice and award them top marks!

Quick appointment with a listening ear
Had quite a rough start to the day. Arrived at the surgery for a routine blood test and everything went smoothly. The wait was minimal before being called through, and the procedure was completed efficiently. As a bonus, I also received an additional vaccination while I was there. The healthcare professional was cheerful and genuinely listened to me while I vented about my difficult morning. Really appreciated it.

Quick booking made the urgent appointment happen
Excellent service— I was directed by the Walk in Centre to reach out to the Surgery for an urgent appointment. I called the Surgery this morning at 8.30 and secured a slot at 11.15. I was informed that a blood sample would be required to help confirm the matter, with results expected within 48 hours. I indicated my availability for a prompt appointment at any time. The sample was collected at 11.45 and I anticipate receiving the results by Wednesday. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!

Telephone appointment window was too wide
I had a telephone consultation scheduled after my previous in-person visit was cancelled. I selected this option thinking it would be more convenient for me. However, I received a reminder indicating the appointment window was between 8.30am and 10.30am, whereas I had been given a specific time of 9.30am. This meant I was unable to make plans elsewhere, as I preferred not to discuss my health concerns in a public setting and wanted to ensure I didn't miss the call. While I recognise that a small buffer of 5 to 10 minutes is reasonable to stay available, I found the two-hour window to be quite inconvenient.

We received excellent service from this practice when a family member required urgent care. The receptionist demonstrated empathy and professionalism when gathering information to pass to the clinical team. Shortly afterwards we received feedback confirming that a healthcare professional would soon be arriving at the home. Emergency appointments vanish within minutes of opening
The one star reflects appreciation for the clinical staff who continue to work hard despite challenging circumstances. However, the practice has deteriorated significantly since the pandemic. Previously, same-day or next-day appointments were readily available. Currently, even calling at 8:30am for emergency slots finds them fully booked, with the earliest alternative appointment months away. The telephone reception staff seem dismissive when communicating this, which is deeply frustrating. On previous occasions when contacting the practice about family health concerns, we were redirected to alternative services or walk-in centres, options that are not practical for very young children. The management needs to address these systemic issues urgently, as the current service level makes it impossible to recommend the practice to others in good conscience. It appears there may be staffing shortages, but clarity on what has changed would be helpful.
