The front desk staff's demeanor is incredibly off-putting. While I recognize the necessity of screening patients to ensure proper routing, this particular receptionist seems to weaponize the process, using it as an opportunity to make condescending remarks about patients' health concerns. I was specifically referred here by a paramedic, and I find it absurd that a receptionist would attempt to undermine professional medical guidance. This isn't an isolated incident; I've previously experienced this same individual's unprofessional conduct, including falsely claiming my blood test results were clear, only to have my GP later confirm a significant medical condition after I persistently followed up. The lack of empathy and potential for medical misinformation is deeply troubling.

Throughout my 15-year association with this medical practice, I've come to two key observations: Dr Colligan, who has since retired, was universally admired and respected by myself and my entire social circle - an absolutely outstanding professional. Dr Vickers, also now retired, along with certain reception staff members, have garnered a less favorable reputation for multiple underlying issues. I cannot offer any substantive commentary regarding the other physicians. At this point, I'm actively seeking to transition to an alternative medical practice, as I've reached my limit of frustration dealing with the problematic reception staff.

My spouse suffered a machete attack, resulting in significant cognitive impairments affecting his mental health, memory, and communication abilities. When attempting to schedule a medical appointment by phone, he was abruptly cut off by a receptionist who insisted he complete an online form. Despite explaining his inability to do so, she remained inflexible, causing him to hang up in frustration. Upon my intervention, I encountered similar resistance, with the staff member adamantly refusing to assist and only reluctantly agreeing to have a GP contact him after extensive arguing. My husband noted this is a recurring issue with her. Her apparent job dissatisfaction is evident, and she seems unsuited to a role requiring compassion and patient support. During my surgery visits, I've observed her perpetually miserable demeanor and unprofessional conduct. I've specifically requested she avoid direct interaction with my husband, instead transferring calls to another staff member. Despite being aware of his medical challenges, she continues to interrogate him about the purpose of his calls. Her treatment of vulnerable patients is unacceptable, and her conduct appears to be problematic even among her colleagues. I overheard other reception staff discussing her difficult attitude during a lengthy wait. It's clear she is detrimental to the patient experience and should either resign or be removed from her position. Her time at this practice needs to end immediately!

The medical professionals are competent, but the support personnel lack attentiveness. I consistently experienced delays at every single appointment, sometimes waiting up to 35 minutes. The staff shows no initiative to communicate with patients during these extended wait times. Most of the front desk employees appear to treat their job as an inconvenience rather than a professional responsibility. Truly disappointing.
