Hard to get an appointment

Requested an appointment for something reasonably severe and given one in a month's time. I am an incredibly infrequent attender, so really disappointed to not be seen in a more reasonable time frame.

The Ask My GP platform offers an incredibly user-friendly method for scheduling medical consultations. I've consistently experienced prompt attention to my appointment requests, with response times that appropriately match the urgency of my health concerns. Whenever I need to communicate with the practice, I'm greeted with supportive and genuinely empathetic staff. I've been incredibly lucky to maintain continuity of care with Dr Colson, who has been my primary physician for a while now. She demonstrates an exceptional bedside manner, carefully listening to my medical issues and consistently proposing treatment plans that are precisely aligned with my individual health requirements. Her support has been invaluable across numerous medical matters. I cannot speak highly enough about this medical practice.

Rude receptionists ruined my patient care

I'm giving two stars solely for the exceptional general practitioners and a few compassionate receptionists. However, the low rating stems from the small group of incredibly discourteous, dismissive, and abrupt receptionists who seem to believe they can arbitrarily deny patients with chronic pain and block continuity of care from established GPs who are actively investigating symptoms. I was bluntly told to either contact NHS 111 or go to A&E. When I asked this individual to clarify her directive, she repeated her unhelpful advice. Fortunately, after calling back to inquire about my test results, I connected with a fantastic receptionist who genuinely cares about her patients and takes pride in her work. I cannot comprehend why this practice continues to employ such problematic staff members. I've experienced similar situations countless times here. I want to express gratitude to the dedicated and kind receptionists, nurses, and doctors who work tirelessly. Please address the behavior of the problematic employees. I've been a patient at this surgery since childhood, and it was never like this before. My heart goes out to those who might feel intimidated or vulnerable in such an environment!

Missed referrals keep causing us problems

Regrettably, we've encountered some administrative challenges with this medical practice. A couple of years back, they twice neglected to forward referral documentation, resulting in a significant postponement for us. Recently, another referral was supposed to be transmitted, and once more, the physician failed to send it! Fortunately, drawing from our previous encounters, I proactively followed up this time. It's incredibly exasperating and disheartening!

Dr. cox was a lifesaver for us

I'm thoroughly impressed with the general practitioners at this clinic, especially Dr. Cox, who has been exceptionally supportive and proactive - a refreshing departure from our previous medical practice. The staff includes some truly delightful receptionists who are wonderfully helpful, but conversely, some who are less accommodating. Being relatively new patients, we were unfamiliar with the AskMyGP service they frequently recommend, and the appointment booking process seems inconsistent. On two occasions, I've encountered completely inappropriate attitudes when trying to understand their system, with no one taking the time to explain the procedures. The receptionists could definitely benefit from showing more empathy. Multiple reviews have highlighted concerns with the AskMyGP platform, and I can only imagine how challenging this would be for elderly or digitally inexperienced patients. I would gladly award a perfect rating, but the discourteous receptionists have unfortunately lowered the overall practice score. Sincere appreciation goes to the compassionate staff members who genuinely care about their patients. I cannot emphasize enough how incredible Dr. Cox has been. My family and I are immensely grateful for his recent assistance.

Urgent meds blocked by broken system

Completely worthless service. They push you towards their online platform, which then shuts down by mid-morning most days. When you resort to calling, you're met with the infuriating response of "we're fully booked, try again tomorrow" - how incredibly supportive when you desperately need anti-nausea medication (a prescription you've received before) because you can't even keep fluids down. I'm unfortunately trapped with this medical practice due to my location, and I'd switch providers instantly if I could. The individual physicians are fantastic, but the rest of the staff are indifferent and obstructive.

Booking nightmare with my local surgery

Scheduling appointments with this practice is incredibly frustrating. They direct patients to use their online GP booking system, but then inexplicably disable it. I've spent weeks trying to catch my doctor during available times, and more often than not, I simply abandon my attempts or resort to calling 111 to help me secure an appointment.
